      @@Sulamanjansulttaani ya know the stepping on the foot actually doesn't hurt that bad. What hurts is when you try to pull back at first, it gives an indian burn sensation on the top of the foot.

    The stickey hands method is very effective just before your opponent jabs. The moment before the arm becomes straight, a slight grab or push and you can circle or disturb your opponent's balance. With the right timing you can counter before the attack...

    These are such clever and amazing ways to utterly confuse your sparring partners without actually hurting them Gabriel, this video is so useful for those who do not want to hurt their sparring partners, but at the same time show them that you are a higher skill level than them!

    Like many here, I had this happen recently where for some unknown reason the guy I was sparring with - who I never sparred with previously - disrespectfully started throwing bombs during a light technical spar. You can easily tell an accidental hard hit, or someone who just doesn't know their own strength, to when a guy's demeanor changes and he's swinging with bad intentions.
    Having watched that infamous Jeff Chan Shredded video where two egos can quickly escalate things way too far I decided not to retaliate, keep my cool, and just use it as a training opportunity to neutralize an aggressive opponent and did exactly those GV talks about: changed my fighting style, used a lot of feigns, use your footwork for range, mix up patterns of attacks while analyzing his patterns.
    For self-defence training it's also reassuring that someone can throw bombs and that you are unphased by them ("Whatever...") and can take a hit.

    The 4th tactic, utilizing the front kick, but extending it a few more inches just to reach someone from a longer range reminds me of the way Samart Payakaroon throws his teep. It’s not exactly the same, he throws his teeps almost like a side kick but not quite. It’s a phenomenal technique that allows you to hit your opponent from afar.

    1) using a longuard + posting lead hand palm on their forehead lol it so stupidly simple yet so effective to keep them away.
    2) blitzing with tippy-tappy punches to make them shell up and get in infight. (Then work hard to body as you wish)

    A boxing couch said something that helped me a lot. One of those things that just click in the mind and you get better for free:
    In boxing, when you're not punching you should be faking, and when you're not faking you should be punching.

    In the beginning, before I started teeping, and using other techniques, kicking that lead leg at the calf or below as they came into range was how I dealt with larger opponents.
    Lol

    I usually frustrate shorter sparring partners because i’m tall & lanky with good footwork, jab, and teeps. Sometimes i try to tone it down so they don’t start swinging in frustration 😂, anyways i’m definetly trying that leg pull that gets them off balance

    Ive heard about other things like jabbing the forehead constantly. Not much damage but hes eventually gonna react to that. Also putting weight on them to wear them down, and jabbing the sternum or solar plex to shorten their breath, also seems frustrating.
    Just being accurate and hitting the same spot over and over seems maddening

    I love in the last minute of the session to turtle in, guard up and go Dutch style. Sometimes I find wth new partners, when you start slow and ramp up the tempo 100 with a combo it sets people off.

  • @pi5724
    @pi5724 Před 11 měsíci

    That last one is super effective and annoying; i love doing it, esp if you're tall..hands ontop of gloves is another one, you can shadowbox it and drill...i just think of it as posting, it's great coz they cant see well with a glove in their face, if they are smart they try to pivot out and u can catch them the 2nd or 3rd time with a knee,elbow or cross. just be mindful some guys will front kick your nutz and i can never tell if it's unintentional or they're just that annoyed and fire away...great vid!

    From the bit of wing chun I've trained, I can confirm that "sticking energy" is amazingly frustrating. It's really fun once you get the hang of it using your lower legs to do it. Just watch for take downs at this range.

    I was boxing sparring with a friend of mine. He had been middle linebacker for the University of Toledo and was much bigger than me. He was orthodox so I went into southpaw stance and kept circling to his left away from his cross while popping him with my right jab. After a minute or two of this, he walked over to a wall and punched a hole in it. Yeah, he was frustrated, lol

  • @rainbowskyrunner
    @rainbowskyrunner Před 11 měsíci

    🤣 What is most fun and funny to me is that it probably feels like it is making them worse, or just not helpful for their progression to the one getting frustrated, but if they learn to not get frustrated and to use good fundamental technique, as well as some tricky tactics like those as a counter to nonsense like that. Maybe even find some ways to use those frustrating tactics against a frustrating opponent. Get good at hand trapping for the sticky hands, or use low kicks and kicks in general to counter the effectiveness of sticky hands. I always had older brothers or sparring partners that would use such tactics don’t let it discourage you! Just preserve and make it make you stronger! Learn to use your elbows and knee parries for the front kicks (no one likes kicking an elbow or knee over and over) catches and parries with one hand at the same time as you throw a lunging straight to the head or a hook to the body. For the trips lift your feet up… You can even just kick with the lead leg as they try to trip you 😅 or practice using your jab, cross, your jab, back hand hook and the back hand overhand to the head and/or body, while moving forward off of your back foot and replanting your lead leg as needed to be able to have a solid base for the back hand. It seems weird I know but it catches a person who likes to trip mid combo off guard real good if you can do it well 😂
