I’m with you on the vintage faces , they’re the perfect balance between creepy and cute, it’s the epitome of “spooky” . Now things tend to be either fully cutesy or fully creepy or even sometimes intentionally ugly .

Jade, that second windsock (the ghost) I used to have. I bought it at a garage sale one year, and I used to hang it up when I decorated for Halloween when the kids were at school. They would tell me when they saw the windsock hanging up on the porch from the school bus, they would be so excited because they knew it would be all decorated and magical inside, and I would always have my pumpkin spice candles lit and something yummy cooking. That was a core memory for all of my kids. Now, I have since given that windsock to my son for his own front porch. Good memories!! 💀💯🍁

😭❤️i love that kids remember the simplest stuff that is a core memory for them. My kids do that too im surprised they remember small detail things for me big for them. Fyi i just boxed up my easter stuff to gift to my daughter for her daughter 😊
I never had many memories like this but I feel like I did. Just hearing this story warms my heart. Me and my wife do a yard haunt now. We build all of our own stuff and it literally looks like a movie set IMO! When I was a kid I would have been stalking my yard every single day but to my surprise we don't get a lot of Tots in our neighborhood! I miss the 80s and 90s so much. Different times! Josh

Omg I’ll be 53 in a couple weeks and this was light a flashback to my childhood cuz my mom and grandparents had these decorations…🎃 I teared up knowing that Lucian will grow up knowing that this was his grandmother and Daddy’s decoration collection 🎃🖤👻
Jade, those little plastic skeleton and pumpkin guys that you said you thought the heads popped off are Rosen Halloween candy containers from the 70’s. They originally had little tiny balls of candy inside them. My mom bought me those when I was a little kid. They sell for $30 and up on Ebay. Vintage is my absolute favorite! Reminds me of my childhood! 🎃 I hope you feel better and take care! 🧡

The 3 pumpkin candles, they say "trim wick" you cut them apart. leave a nice wick to light. Yes the skelly is a windsock.

Earlier this year, a fire claimed my family's 70+ years Halloween collection that was housed in storage due to our move. To say it was heartbreaking, does not cover it. Thank you for making me smile.

I think the pumpkins and skeleton heads with the clear bodies used to be filled with little sugar ball candies in Halloween colors, black, orange, and white!

my nostalgic memories would be the halloween decor my teachers had in school, i always remember the calenders and the picture decors on walls. this video was my favorite of all videos take me back to when i would always had that warm feeling of happiness when i would see halloween coloring books and decors, the cold winds and fresh air.
You should put the jack-o'-lantern lights with the cords (you said on top of your cabinets) in the windows....like how people put the candlesticks in the windows, in the front of the house windows so you can see them from the street. Definitely are super awesome!!

that is definitely a windsock! i have one. we make a graveyard under the big tree in our front yard. we put the windsock way up in the tree on a pully with a long string that comes to the front door. We don't do it to the little kids, but when the older ones stop to look at the cemetery, we let loose the string from our position at the front door and the skeleton windsock floats down into their field of vision. they all scream. they love it!!!

My favorite item from when I was a kis was this 1980s haunted house. It lights up green on the inside and it plays the iconic spooky music all vintage decor plays. When I moved out, my parents let me have it and it's my favorite thing to put up every year!
The ceramic set (Frankenstein, Witch, Vampire, pumpkin) you should ask your MIL if she painted those. Ceramic painting classes were huge back in the day; they liked to sell them in sets for the holidays and even had the light up/sound mechanisms to glue in (I also found these same sets on ebay but in varying paint styles, so that along with that they werent in an original box….maybe?)

This video had given me all the feels. Growing up we had a lot of the Avon decor she gave you. I had to go no contact with my parents and I haven't seen some of this decor in decades. The little wax ghost family glows in the dark! It was my FAVORITE decor piece as a kid.
Avon and Hallmark was huge back in the 80's and 90's!! Holy smokes! The jack-o'-lantern and bat magnets from Avon!!!! I remember that I had both of those when i was a kid 😄

In the 80s we had paper wall decor with awesome prints. Those things go for big bucks now if they’re in good shape!
I gotta say the teeth chattering pins are my fave lol…those for some reason hit a nostalgic chord with me 🤷♀️😂. I’m an ‘83 baby so all of this is right up my childhood lane! I’m glad she still had all of that and was able to hand it down to you and Dallas! I’m sure your sweet baby Lucien is going to love all the bright colors and friendly faces in those pieces! Just FYI for you guys- Mercari has so many fun throwback, vintage, nostalgic Halloween items. Decorations, lights, clothing - everything. Most of it is a little pricey but you can always offer lower than asking price! 🎃🤸♀️✨ shopping there is like online thrifting so it’s better for your wallet, the environment, and gives you unique pieces you usually can’t find in stores! 🎃Happy shopping!

I love those vintage Beistle diecut decorations! I was a kid in the 70s and my mom always put those up all over the house. I found some originals from back then about fifteen years ago, and even though my kids are pretty much grown, we still put them up every year.

Electric on top of your cabinets… I plug a surge protector with 5 plugs into my outlet. I also plug a 3 plug extension cord. Makes it easy to plug in a lot of light up Halloween thingies

I love old Halloween stuff. I mean we get some cool things here and there each year but over all I much prefer old halloween decor. It feels more whimsical and also Jack-o-lantern centric. It also feels like we got more unique jack-o-lantern faces, scary, laughing, silly, goofy etc. Great Haul and I'm glad you're okay!!
Amazing vintage items. VERY collectable. Those multi-character string lights are SO FRIGGEN COOL. Pleeeease don't change the lights out on the anything. They are investments even if not working. Changing them will drastically reduce their value. Plus they're definitely not as toxic as some modern stuff can be. Just because they sell it, doesn't mean it's safe. But yeah, SUPER COOL haul. So nice of your mother in-law.

Those Skull and Jack O Lantern " Masks" were put out by Hallmark, nearly 40 years ago I have the Skull and it was made to either hang on your door or hang on the wall and it had a battery lighted light inside which flashed. This was like vintage Halloween old home week for me! I have so many of the pieces that you were lucky enough to inherit from your MIL! Have fun 👍!

When I saw that it could be a skeleton or the ghost and we didn’t know which one was inside as much as they were both super cute, I was really hoping It was the ghost and I was just so happy for you when it turned out to be the ghost!! I think I have that same ghosty trio at 22:54. I got it from my MIL too when she gave us her old Halloween stuff. Some of the other figurines looked very similar to other ones she gave us too. So cool!
You hit the mother load for great vintage halloween decor, Dallas' mom has great taste! Yes those are windsocks and I'm pretty sure the pumpkin with the head lid is for toilet paper, not potpourri.

My Halloween tradition is not old. I think that the Halloween decorations start when the children go to school in August after the summer vacation. Not all at once, but little by little. 😊

My mother in law a few years ago stopped putting out her vintage halloween blow molds and gave them all to me, I have them just sitting in my house most of them are in good condition but there is one that us breaking cuz it so old but I love them they stay out all year

Something I remember was my grandma having those ugly cackling witches that moved with the light up eyes... creepy. But I have one now and love it.
