A dyslexic friend of mine used to sign his 'high score' name (for every game) "Guido Barels", for an unknown reason, he never said why and I never asked. Now, after 35 years, I discover by chance this game was written by "Guido Bartels". Mystery solved.

One of the first Amiga tunes I ever listened to. I was sooooo impressed by that machines audio capabilities. Feels like a trip to the past hearing it now.

The first .MOD played on an Amiga, and by the creator of that format!

It deserves its own special place in the history of tracker music. Imagine how many other tracker formats and actual tracks all kind of lead back to this in the end.

Can you believe it, guys... Here we are sitting 34 years later, and still enjoying and appreciating what was the true beginnings to so many things the young take for granted today.
I've listened to this particular song for 33 years now, just as I am still listening daily to Jesper Kyd, Jogeir Liljedal, and so many other from the era... *nostalgia big time*

Believe it or not, we old fellas who grow up with these timeless stuff we love our past, as it is on part of the whole puzzlke of live theat brought us this what we are now, in ggo d or bad... the time we had is timeless, no one on earth can expierence what we had in the days, and that formed us, didn't it? I feel sorry for all the younger ones in this time that feels more like a live on the contunue press fast foward button on an old VCR. We were slower they days, and this was good. We could feel and enjoy all our sourrounding, that the younger now never expierience... the world is so fast, with all this smarphones, social media, messanger and the demand to be allways on etc. etc.
Yeah, as for me the time back than was more enjoyable and not so fast forward as it is now, maybe thats why i see myself often drift back to the childhood with songs linke sings, they are ... like you jump back in you mind to the past, they take the speed out of you life and they are what they are, they are our time and that is so good!

Not sure if you know, but Jesper Kyd is still composing. The last game he worked on was Warhammer 40,000: Darktide from 2022.

I never played the game, but clearly remember pressing the L key in Soundtracker to load this song and see for the first time the four channels with notes and samples scrolling on this bulky and heavy Commodore screen.

I never played this game and I never even used an amiga but I really like this track. Probably because it makes me reminiscent of mac OS classic games which were often amiga ports/clones.

Wow! This was the Amiga game tune that got me into listening to Amiga demo tunes later on (this Amegas intro music and the brill R-Type intro music on the Amiga.)
It's just a shame that Amiga musicians were always using the same synthesizer sounds and samples in different demos -- it kind of spoilt them a bit. Kind of like the Amiga music equivalent of Amiga graphics artists using the same colours in different demos, if you see what I mean.
    Anyway, thanks for reading.

It was hard to get individual clean samples of synths. The person who did the ST discs clearly had access to a Yamaha DX series synth and a Roland D50.

They didn't used the same samples. Only in the beginning. Later mods have completely different sounds. Bytheway ... there are still a lot of tunes written on Amiga.
