      Thanks man and glad the video helped some 👍. Yep, nothing more frustrating for me as well when I look for a video on something, only to find that it doesn’t even give good details….especially after watching some long irrelevant intro, lol. Thanks again and all the best ! Steve

    Sińce you mentioned that only at the very beginning I believe once you close your door you need to press the break all the time, or only when initiating that extra mode?

      Hello, in order to get the dash to initialize to reset the service interval, but not have the car start, you would not put your foot on the brake pedal. There should also be no need to press the brake pedal during the reset procedure. Hope this helps and all the best ! Steve

    Great explanation sir but I would not wait more then 4-5 thousand miles to change my oil

      Thanks man 👍. Yep, I wish bmw would have given a way to change the setting for service mileage for the next oil change. I do change it in between the notification (about every 5 to 6 thousand miles) then do the reset when it comes up every other time.

    How can I change the cluster part to make is say how much gas I got left instead of MPH

    • @StevesDIYs
      @StevesDIYs  Před 2 lety

      Hello, The standard options that can be selected on what the center cluster in the dash displays are changed with the BC button that is on the end of the turn signal lever (just below the “Check” button on the end). This one will cycle through ambient temp, how many miles till empty, etc, but I don’t know if there’s a way to actually show how many gallons are left. By pressing the trip reset as well as the BC or Check button at the same time (I cant remember which it is), you can access additional basic sensor outputs (it takes you into a root directory of readings) and it should show the fuel remaining there as well as engine temp and things, but this is just for quick diagnosis purposes and once you leave this root directory it goes back to the normal display. This root directory is sometimes difficult to get back out of, but should go back to the normal display once the car is shut off, the key removed, and the doors are locked and unlocked from the outside using the key fob.
