Where might you recommend basic area for someone who has never plunked on the Columbia
The lower Columbia has a lot of good spots I would get on google earth look for some bends in the river or a nice big beach in an area that is fishable per regulation and if you get your lines out far enough you should find success
I recognize that river! There's no salmon there😋 I didn't reralize you were local, lets go fishing!
Where are you located brother?

I was going to camp on my boat and fish all weekend just upstream from your vid... not with these winds.
Miserable, even in a big jet boat.
Exactly I’ve never seen wind like this for so long usually a couple days but now what the heck! Hopefully it does down for you brotha so you can get out there

If you are wanting to learn. your setup is on point, but if you play the percentage game your cheating yourself a little.. little bit more efficient ways to rig that same setup, knots, dropper setup. Don't direct tie your weight, do a over hand loop at desired dropper length then just choke the eye of the weight. Your fisherman knot will eventually slip the way you are tying it. Go through the eye then back through again to prevent slipping. Of double your line before tying your fisherman knot.
I used to tie it that way and started tying it this way and after 50 fish and no slips I feel confident!
