- Welcome to Makaia, a fantasy worldbuilding project inhabited by intelligent jewelry, a magic caste system, and aristocrats that transform into dragons.
This video was made to help me organize my thoughts, bounce ideas with friends, and also share my creations with anyone who might be interested.

I actully too was developing a magic system and world recently.
What I found convenient was organising my notes in Obsidian and also I post short stories on royalroad, since I feel that my skills as a writer are lacking. There are also some parallels between our ideas, so I think that parts of my world may be not that original, as I thought
Short stories huh? Shoot me your username on there and i’ll check it out!
Interesting ideas! Nice visuals!
This deserves more view and is criminally underrated…this is awesome pls don’t stop!!!
Nicely Done! Sounds like a very cool idea and concept!
Very cool, I can definitely see the Asian influence of Internal Alchemy from Ancient China and Cultivation from Xianxia.
I'm looking forward to the novels.
As an aspiriing artist who also wants to show his very own world to the public - this is very good and motivational video. Even if i find such kind of magic system somewhat generic, i still feel the charm and depth beneath it. Great video, great idea and great world! I would like to see more!
I looking forward to more videos 😊
Hey man, a friend of mine is creating an original story and is trying to devise a power system but is unsure of how to proceed. Here is what he has so far.
Characters even in the beginning of the series are significantly above the average human in terms of strength, showcasing superhuman levels of strength and durability that would kill the average human, due to their Arks granting them superhuman characteristics with elemental manipulation. It's nothing too original since elemental powers are basically the standard norm for most shonen works but he wants advice on how to make it unique. He is considering taking the Bleach route where the owner's weapons basically have their souls attached to their weapons but he feels that would be far too complicated. For each weapon, there's also a "release" command that was majorly inspired by Bleach where a user's power is multiplied by a factor of ten at the cost of increased stamina consumption leading to fatigue. He has played a lot of mobile games and is a fan of Arknights power system of Originium Arts, but doesn't want to copy it entirely. He is basically considering scrapping and starting all over since the power system he wants basically contrasts heavily with the story arcs he has in mind
The worldbuilding he has so far is inspired by both Attack on Titans and Cyberpunk 2077 along with RWBY so he has that down. It's basically a dark dystopia-based work.
make them genetical mutant or descendent of higher being
😁give them some organs with which they manipulate elemental energy
can't say its unique but just my preference
Sounds like potential for a very interesting fusion of power systems. I would suggest absorbing your favorite elements from each series and simplifying them so they don’t over-complicate the story when they come together. Story-wise, I think any power systems can be modified to fit a story as long as the main conflict remains clear and character arcs made sense. Cheers and good luck on your worldbuilding!
This is sick homie! I love how much worldbuilding is happening in the world at the moment
p.s. your art style is enviable my dude! Fantastic effort
@@TheSongOfO its AI image
@@adroitws1367 the real reason so much worldbuilding is happening in the world at the moment
@@abelk.johnsen309 I think overall its good wave, as I love worldbuilding and seeing what people think is interesting. But most that use ai to do it will stop when the dopamine rush of quick image diminish and they need to start putting effort in polishing their rough idea. So, go build some world ma bro. With ai, its more fun than ever now, even just for hobby
If no one will say I will say it. You just renamed Xianxia (chinese high fantasy) Cultivators(Mages/Warrior), Qi, Dantian, Realms(Tiers Level of Warriors) and put it in a futuristic sci-fi
Yes, glad to see someone familiar with Cultivation. These are all concepts of traditional Chinese martial arts, TCM, and classical Daoist Canon. The earliest authors of Xianxia adopted and fictionalized these ideas from centuries-old Daoist manuals such as "Principles of Inner Nature and Vital Force" (性命圭旨), "Biographies of Immortals" (Shenxian Zhuan), "Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor" (Huangdi Neijing), etc.
The original classics were written as works of religious or spiritual non-fiction. In fact, the earliest known accounts of Chinese history, such as records of the Yellow Emperor, feature concepts of cultivation, culminating in the Emperor's ascension to heaven. Just as the West had The Torah, the ancient Chinese had the Daoist Classics, in which ascension to Heaven is the goal of spiritual cultivation, just as the goal of Judeo-Christianity is to reach the Kingdom of God. The West talks about "Faith," the spiritual concept of firmly believing in that which you have not seen. The East talks about "Enlightenment," the concept of grasping that which you have not known.
In the words of Will Wight (going off memory here): "There are a million paths in the universe, but they can all be reduced to one: Improve Yourself."
Ultimately, the goal of Cultivation is not about gaining powers or immortality, but about elevating the spirit toward greater truths of the universe. Perhaps to see it on the macro scale, the Dao of Daoism is "the Way" just as the Dharma of Buddhism is "The Law," just as the Word of God rules all things. Personally, I believe they resonate with a degree of higher truth that can be applied universally to the human condition, regardless of culture, time period, or "magic system." I think, in the end, what is the fantasy genre but a medium through which to explore our own nature by visualizing a journey through mysterious forces of the cosmos?
Yes, just as many authors have done. But does not take away from some of the touches he has added, that will make it part of his own world.
This deserves more views wow. So is this a fantasy-scifi world? I would love to hear about how space travel works and space warfare if it exists
This is insane
I’m also writing a fantasy story
It’s not nearly as in depth as yours but I’m working on it more and more
Nice! Good luck to us on crafting cool fantasy worlds :)
In Japanese there are two wods for magic. One is tree magic, the other witchcraft. In indonesian there is technoagic.
how much time did you spend on this? I have built a quite different magic system that does something very similar though, this feels odd-like someone wanted to do the same thing but chose a different path.
cheers :)
Haha, that's interesting. Yea, this took quite some time. I mainly just work on it when I have some free time. So like over the course of week or two.
Maybe this one like those planes where magic and tech together but mostly of time is medieval
Yea, the technology was advanced at one point, however they were used against the Clans for a period of time, killing hundreds of powerful Bloodlines (the Eventide Bloodshed). Eventually when the Bloodlines reemerged from the shadows and ashes, the Clans retaliated with unprecedented firepower (the Drakarch Crusade) and magic, hunting down the warlords who used aetherya tech, and massacring the civilizations that prospered with the technology. So technology was politically repressed for centuries thereafter.
@@KingswithDragons end this impear if the furture to give people freewill in a better way
This reminded me of the Wuxia world manhua and it seems like such a good idea
Yea, got a lot of inspiration from Wuxia
I wonder if there will be a book with this kind of system . . . I hope yes
Yea, hopefully I can come out with a book or two haha
If aetherya can be used to store memories and information couldnt it be used to essentially make clones of a person. Also they could be used to transfer your whole personality and knowledege by giving it to an infant thus allowing a person to gain pseudo immortality
just a few random thoughts
Yes, these are possibilities and limitations I would like to explore
im confuese is this ai art or your own drawings?
Ai art redrawn/retouched on photoshop.
I like your work, but there is a lot of "unique" and SOO confusing terminology and terms to memorize. For a casual reader this might make it hard to understand. This also happened to me with aother story before. I felt as if someone was reading a chemistry book to me that I dont know the terminology of, all i heard were a bunch of mumbo jumbo words and the only thing I got was "somethign about an element that gives you other elements, or something like that, and theres dragons i guess beacuse of the images, and an imperium that i think lives in space, and a ball of light on the belly". I think I understood your premise better from the one paragraph on the description than 4 minutes of video.
I would recomend to simplify your terminology to something like "Aeon warriors" or "the Aura of Lexyra" instead of the weird names you use fro every little part, that I dont even remember. My theory is that if you make it simplier to understand and remember, people would engage more easily and understand it first try. I think I understood your premise better from the one paragraph on the description than 4 minutes of video.
Yea, as I'm gradually writing the actual story and revising, I've been trying to simplify the language.
Original and interesting idée :

Ps: sorry for the grammaire a im frence
Nice! Sounds like a lot of potential
Nice video!
I looks ilke you developed the world very well, and the magic system itself sounds fun.
Would love to see more of the setting, a more in-depth look on the empire and its diffrent cast's
keep up the good work, and good luck on your writing!
Brilliant.
I'm getting Arcane and Stormlight Archive vibes from the crystal source of magic.
I'd love to magical cats that you can form contracts with for powers, tools, but will always trick you, kinda like making deal with a devil 😂
Sounds fun!
This is a very well thought out magic system.
thats cool but next time don't use Ai art, it steals from real artists
I disagree, this is fair use
Humans “steal” art worse then ai
@@SoulFury-uz6vvnope
@@pikelet1014what does this have to do with anything
If you think about it, artists "steal" from other artists as well. Everything is inspired by something, whether consciously or subconsciously. We mush a bunch of ideas (that have most likely been done before) together and create something new, so to speak. That's what AI does, too. I don't think there's a problem with using AI, but I don't think using it to make money is a good idea.
