I really like your technique the best of any of these type of instructional videos I have seen.
This is the most easily understood and illustrated project bag I've found. Thanks so much!!
Thanks for watching and for your kind words!
Agree!!
It was such a treat watching this.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Very easy to follow.
From California Thank you for your clarity 👏🏽. I really got addicted to making these. I found the vinyl super cheap by purchasing inexpensive shower curtains, and clear table cover rolls. I even like the frosted curtains and the frosted theme print curtains. You can still see what’s in the bag. Wish I knew how to add pictures to show you ❤
Now those shower curtains are a fabulous idea! I would love to see. I don't know how to add pics either. You could email them tho, curlygirlcrafter@gmail.com
Thank you for showing how to make a project bag. I am glad that you showed how to sew the vinyl and binding. I’m a visual learner and your video has certainly helped me. 😊

Thanks for this video! I am between bag patterns and think I will clean up my stash and make up some of these to keep my patterns in!
Yes! You should, have fun!
Great & simple tutorial. Thank you. I think I’ll make one today. I know, without a doubt, that I have fabric waiting! 😊.
Haha! I am sure the fabric is waiting for you!
Thank you so much for showing us that it looks beautiful. I’m going to have to try to make myself a bag. I’m not a sewer but I do have a machine.
You CAN do it! Just take your time!
Fun tutorial! I love your relaxed approach. That trick or using the seam ripper to coax the corners into shape is rather brilliant. I've never seen that. And thanks for leaving in the 'birds nest' comment. I thought I was the only one who had that problem!
Haha, everything I sew has a birds nest because I am always in a hurry!
The best and most clear tutorial on vinyl project bags that I have found!! And I have watched quite a few in my desperate attempt to make a vinyl pouch☺☺Thank you very much for this fantastic tutorial, I shall definitely make one now!!🤩
So glad it was helpful! Have fun and use up those fun fabrics you have!
Great project bag! Thanks a bunch!
Thank you so much for watching!
Really enjoyed your tutorial! Agree that having clear vinyl you can see what’s in the bag without having to rummage through looking for a particular item. Will give this a try. Thanks so much!
You are so very welcome and thanks for watching!
Fabulous tutorial 👌
Thanks so much!
Thank you for the great tutorial. I've always had a panic with zips.
This by far is the best one I've seen.
I'm definitely going to have a go.
Thank you ladies.
Yes, give it a go! You will love them they are so easy!
I like how you quilted the back. I make my bags very similar except I insert the vinyl and sew it to the folded fabric first then add the zipper. So cute! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! They are sure fun to make aren't they!
So glad I found your tutorial! Today I was trying to find a way to contain a half used layer cake (10"x10" selection of 42 fabrics) and this will work perfectly. I'll also use for quilting WIPs and stitchy projects now that I see how easy and affordable these are to make. Thanks so much!
You are so very welcome and thanks for watching! Have fun!
Thank you for the tutorial ❤
I’m giving it a try!
Woo Hoo! You can do it!

Hello from NZ, Bonnie. I am a little behind in tuning in to your videos as I have been very busy of late preparing for the October fare we are having at our local church. I have finally finished crocheting Christmas snowflakes decorations for the fare, and also knitted Poppies flower for the celebration Sunday. So, I watched the tutorial on your project bag, well, I have to say how much I really enjoyed the video. It is so clear, tidy and just superb. I have made a few for my projects in the past, and I will make another one following your method. I love the fabric you have chosen. Thank you Bonnie for sharing, and hello to Apollo. I thought he would help you with the sewing 😊😊 Take care, Thelma.
Oh Ms Thelma, your fingers must be tired from all those snowflakes and poppies! I bet they turned out beautiful and people will surely enjoy them :)
Hi Thelma I too am in NZ in CHCH can you tell me where do you source your vinyl from in NZ? Thks denise
Hi Denise, WOW, are you from Christchurch and where abouts in Christchurch to the nearest shop/craft shop? Well, I bought my Vinyl from Spotlight long time ago but not sure if they still do, but Lincraft should have it too. Hope this help Denise, and all the best. Thelma.
Thank you Bonnie❤
You are most welcome :)
That is beautiful.
Ahhh thank you!
Great tutorial! Thanks
Thank you so much for joining us!
For someone who is not a seamstress…you certainly did a great job sewing and teaching how to make the bag. You make me think..I can do that! Thanks to you!!!
You CAN do it!
Very nice. I think adding a loop with a clip to hang will make it over the top. Thank you!
Oh that would be lovely :)
Project bags are like potato chips.....I can't make just one. Problem is that I didn't have the right vinyl so I made one from some vinyl mesh I had from another project and that worked. I wanted to make another one so I made one using a vacuum sealer bag. I didn't separate the layers of the bag and I had no problem sewing either project bag. It will be interesting to see how they hold up and I'm contemplating making a third bag. Thank you for the great tutorial.
I am so happy you are enjoying yourself! Thank you for watching :)
The BEST!
Thank you!
Now I understand why people say it’s so easy. Thank you!!
Hahaha! It really is! Just DO it!
Thank you so much! 🌸
Thank you! Love your doggy pic!
Thank you for the tutorial! I will give it a try after I get Halloween costumes made.
Halloween costumes are fun to make!
So cute. So simple Thank you, and you are a seamstress
Thank you! Glad you found it easy to follow!
Great tutorial
Thanks so much!
Love this and the clear and easy instructions!!
Two questions: 1) where is the cute mushy fabric from? 2) what stitch length do you use when sewing with vinyl?
I tried to find the mushroom fabric company, but I do not remember who it was and it has been in my stash a bit. I am sorry! I use stitch length of 2.5 for the vinyl. My machine does not have a problem with it at all. If you get to much drag increase it to 3 or 3.5.
Yay!! Thank you for this video. I actually think I can do this. Will pull out the sewing machine and see what happens 😂👍
YES, you can do it! I promise!
Appreciate your tutorial! Inspired me to pull fabrics to make a few. You made that look so easy. Can you tell me the brand of ‘stiff” interfacing you used? Thank you! Anne
Hi Anne, I am glad you are going to make some, they are fun! I used a product called stiff stuff by Sew Lazy Girl Designs.
Awesome tutorial, I was just wondering what is inner facing? Is it more like card stock or a board?
Thank you! It comes in many different weights. It can be super thin too, for like cloths. It basically is like a lining, to give it some heft or body.
Thank you!!!!! 😊
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for this great tutorial. Can you share the particular interfacing you used here?
Thank you! It is called stiff stuff.
I have done several pouches but never quilting in the back.
THanks to have shown me how to do that, it's a good tip 👍👍❤
On the other hand, I wonder if it's a good thing to start many cross stitches project in the same time. Usually, I finish a cross stitch project before starting another. I wonder if I try to do several or not....
What is your opinion about that ?
Start lots! We love lots of starts!!!
This was a great tutorial and I feel confident I can try making one!
I am curious about the vinyl. Months ago I bought a yard of vinyl from Joanns. I got it from their home decor fabric section. Now I am wondering if that's the wrong kind of vinyl? Does vinyl differ? What should I look to buy?
I do not know if it is different or not! I use by Annie's vinyl and am very happy with it. That is all I have ever used so I can not give any feed back on other vinyls. YES, you can make one!
@@UnfinishedStitches Thank you! I'll try Annie's and will compare it. Thank you again!
Best video
Thank you!
Very nice
Thanks!
Thank you for the great tutorial! Can you share what vinyl you use?
It is from by Annie, it is super nice, I love it. Clear and a bit heavier. Thank you.
Great tutorial where do you find the vinyl where it comes on a sheet
It is by Annies vinyl. Just google it and you will get choices of where to buy.
Thank you
Thanks.
Thank you!
Beautiful……
Ahh thank you!
