I love this song, one of my favorites! That being said, the altitude part doesn't make much sense. Altitude is a thing we're always at, you don't really arrive at altitude, so stratosphere might be more appropriate. Although they might be referring to cruising altitude (plane measure of height) which would make more sense. The lyric "Miracle morning day of flight" and "slipstream" lends this theory credit.
