This is amazing. Just a tip that somebody watching this video may not know: armour and prot doesmt save you from potion effects so the time it takes for them to kill you is going to be the same with any type of armour
Protection enchantment does help against the harm effect. Base armour does not

I thought you would just use the dolphin's base damage it does by default to kill the player, but the instant damage is a nice touch! (For anyone wondering or forgetting, dolphins can indeed kill you. They are neutral mobs)

Actually, I would argue it would be whatever is inside of the box in MC Ghepo videos, I think it was called the Quartz Block, or any other Creepypasta though I bet you would argue that they aren't a "thing". Just a few suggestions:
4:23 - you should add ' facing @p' to the end of the command, because otherwise it might lunge side on, and that would be strange for any spectators
4:21 - I also noticed you had the tag 'shark', which means you could add some sort of shark spawning system, by making every dolphin without the tag 'spawned' assigned a random number (between 1 to however rare you want them to spawn) on a scoreboard, and if they get a specific number, they're tagged 'shark', but either way they're tagged 'spawned' in the end, so it only affects newly spawned dolphins

@@charit. mojang didn’t want to add sharks because they only let fantasy mobs to be hostile, cant really understand the logic there. Axolotls and bees were added BECAUSE they were endangered, it’s their way to let people know about these endangered species.

Thats technically a lie, the model needs Optifine to properly render because Mysticat decided to use an Optifine model to add animations.

Small idea:change the dolphins grace effect texture to a screaming face and rename it “fear” so that you swim away from the shark faster when it comes near to you
Maybe instead of "fear" it could be "adrenaline"

The armor doesnt change anything because armor doesnt protect from potions or effects
To fix that you could summon an invisible drowned at the location of the shark with strength or something and always teleport it with the shark
the armor itself does nothing, but the prot does (you'd get more protection from prot 4 leather then unenchanted netherite against these sharks)

Love the video! I think it's so cool that you made sharks without mods. One thing I noticed was the problem you had with the dolphin following you. I believe an easy fix would be making the dolphin rotate towards you and move in that direction. I haven't yet tested this in game, so it's mostly for reference, but the command I'd probably use would look something like this:
/execute as @a at @s run execute at @e[type=dolphin,distance=..5] at @s if block ~ ~ ~ water run tp @s ^ ^ ^0.5 facing entity @p
So it's looking for a dolphin in water that's five blocks or less from a player and teleporting half a block in front of itself in the direction of that player. Hopefully this was at least a little helpful, keep up the good work.

I don't know if you can do this with just commands or if you need to make it a datapack, but if you edit the ai of all the dolphins with the tag "shark", you can make them cause them to always be aggressive.
You would need to add the tag "shark" using a behaviour pack, which in my opinion is a mod, as I play on Bedrock not Java.
I don't think you can actually edit the ai of entities, with datapacks or not-

you could've literally left them exactly how they were, they were neutral mobs before and all you'd have to do is make it so that if the player got too close you'd change their nbt so that they were aggro'd towards the player.

You should've also included the Thorns enchant to the Shark/Dolphin to simulate a shark's tough and sharp skin which can hurt anything if touched in a certain way.

You could've tried making it conditional rather than a tick of redstone, it makes the chain command trigger if the chain command before it triggered successfully. I haven't tested it myself but I believe it will work.

make them only attack you if you have Dolphin's Grace, meaning they attack you if you look like some fast juicy prey

The reason they deal so much damage to full netherite is cause the harming effect actually ignores any armor attributes, so the only thing actually reducing the damage they deal is the protection enchantment
Yeah mojang did not give us any way to directly deal damage that's affected by armor
Let's spend 8 minutes watching someone flexing his command blocks skills on all of us but managing to keep us entertained :D (your OC is very cute btw)

This isn't bedrock edition, its java. Java doesnt have conditional command blocks.

Sharks in real life don’t traditionally eat humans. Any attack is just their curiosity at work.
As some people are suggesting things in the comments: I don't know how comfortable you are with writing functions but you could have used a function at 3:50 with the gamerule and used the /schedule command to schedule the gamerule setting after 1 tick.
6:20 can't you just give each player one unpickable item and have that item constantly teleporting to you? So you use a scoreboard let's say it's called haveItem and if that specific is one block near the player it sets that players haveItem to 1 then you summon that item in every player who don't have haveItem 1. It's also should be less laggy than constantly spawning and killing the item
Technically, they should add sharks. They are neutral most of the time, and the only rule is : hostile mobs can’t be real. :)
