    Footage of 2019 MCI D4500CT 8204 operating on CT Transit's 950 express route from Hartford Union Station to New Haven Union Station, via Meriden and I-91.
    Service on this route was modified on August 22, 2021, as part of an overhaul of the Hartford express bus system. This route now serves Meriden Green, which used to be served by the 919 bus as it was truncated to the Bee Street Park & Ride. Additionally, service to Country Club Park & Ride in the peak direction to/from Hartford was discontinued, replaced by the 919.
    Outside of Hartford, Meriden and New Haven, the route travels through predominantly rural and some suburban areas as it travels via I-91. The highway runs outside most communities in the area. As a result buses tend to serve mostly Park & Rides, and gets off the highway to serve Downtown Meriden where it is more dense.
    A rundown of the trip will be provided soon:
    ==========HARTFORD COUNTY==========
    ==========NEW HAVEN COUNTY==========
    Service on this route was free from April 2022 until March 31, 2023. This was part of a pandemic-era program to help reduce economic costs for state residents due to relatively high inflation at the time.

      Your best bet is to go to Hartford, because that's where most of the express bus routes run (and a better chance of seeing MCIs). There are also other locations like Waterbury and Meridian which have two express routes (and both have routes to/from Hartford).

    How much did the ride cost?

      It was free to ride. The service (and all buses across Connecticut) will remain free until March 31st.
      After that date, regular zoned fares are expected to start again. The single ride fares range from $3.20 to $6 depending on the number of zones traveled. However there could always be a slight possibility that the free fare program could get extended again. Still too early to tell though.

      @@NYCTA1if I take 950 from Hartford to New Haven, how many zones do I travel? And what does all this zone stuff mean. I’m thinking of using this service for my college but I’m nervous and don’t want to get stuck. Plz reply I’d really appreciate it. And soon I will get upass from my college, does upass work for express?

      @@mohammadaqib2019 You'd be paying the maximum fare as that is I think 6 zones (5 zone rides and up are the same fare). You'd need to look at the schedule information and/or map to look at the different fare zone boundaries: www.cttransit.com/schedules
      The upass is allowed on all CT transit bus rides and most train rides including express bus, as long as you're not traveling into New York.
