    The part by the Rainforest Cafe makes me feel like I am at the Denver airport.

    Wow! I'm amazed at all the people and the stores. I live in Philly near the Franklin mills mall (now Philadelphia Mills). I was there yesterday and it's a ghost town with over half the stores closed and the only food court had 3 open restaurant. I remember when it used to be just as crowded as that, I guess those days are gone.

      eh. LA malls are busier than this. This looks super dated too. I bet King of Prussia destroys thi mall. Btw, Florida has the most dead malls in the nation.

      I don't know about that. I went to KoP around Christmas and it seemed less busy than in years past.
      And a couple weeks ago I was at the Neshaminy Mall and most of the stores as well as the food court was empty. 😢

    Sawgrass Mills is one of the most successful malls in South Florida since it offers a good mix of retail and dining options. It also caters well to both locals and tourists.

      @@MileageMikeTravels There are a few pieces of infrastructure in Western Canada you may find interesting:
      There has been recently beltways constructed in Edmonton and Calgary. They are 100% freeway built to a high standard.
      The spiral railway tunnels in the Kicking Horse Pass in British Columbia completed in 1909 are a marvel of engineering. They are a pair of loops bored into mountains and they exit above their entrance. You can see trains pull overtop of themselves of underneath themselves, depending on the direction they travel
      Further down, the completed Kicking Horse Canyon highway project. This replaced a primitive 2 lane highway with very sharp curves and slow speeds with a modern 4 lane high speed highway. The final 3 mile section cost over $600M to construct.
      In downtown Calgary, there is an entire interconnected network of elevated, grade separated pedestrian crossings known as the +15. These overpasses are enclosed and climate controlled and connect most of the skyscrapers, at the second floor making walking downtown a comfortable experience regardless of the weather while simultaneously grade separating pedestrian traffic with vehicular traffic.
      Of course the Rockies are a must see.
      In Winnipeg, MB, there are no freeways. None of their roads are above expressway standards, so it is the largest example in North America of what if no freeways were built.
      Just some food for thought.

  • @MrJestyler
    @MrJestyler Před 3 měsíci +2

    A good portion of shoppers to this mall are tourists. South Florida is like a twilight zone where most malls thrive even though cost of living is very high and there is a stark income discrepancy. The so called middle class that live here aren’t the ones filling up malls because they can’t afford to go. Tourists tourists and more tourists
