It is sad to see how many businesses have closed down because of the new highway
Felix the cat yea and the new highway was just a little more straiter
I love Route 66, even today. It is great for photographers and other artist to get inspiration from.
After 15 September 2006 Cars 1 was released: People remembered Route 66 All America!
Route 66 should be protected like a national park. It is essential classic Americana history! It is a beautiful part of American culture! 👍🏽🇺🇸
Cars brought me here
Me too

Not to take anything away from 66, but… You can still drive US Route 281 from the southern tip of Texas 1,875 miles straight up the center line of the country to the Canadian border. It was never replaced by interstates, never decommissioned, still sees a lot of traffic, and still goes through a lot of small town main streets and courthouse squares. There are abandoned gas stations… mom-and-pop motels still operating… some fine places to eat… and yes, some eccentric roadside attractions that are not nearly as well explored and documented as those along Route 66.
Thats cool. I'm gonna check it out when I have time next year
Route 66 between Needles and Barstow in California was designated a National Scenic Byway in 2020.
My dad Bill Swan made a lot of iconic fiberglass statues which are placed along Route 66 some are placed in a short Amazon ebook for 14.99 called "The man behind the mufflerman ".
Love 66, but don't forget that the Lincoln Highway predated 66 and stretched 3400 miles all the way from NY to San Fran.
Thank you.
Thx Disney cars for putting this back n the map
My aunt & uncle owned a Navajo Trading Post for decades by Sanders and Twin Arrows. Both are dead now and so is 66.
This is really sad to see how cars don’t really travel through Route 66 anymore
All cause of the super highways
@@sean9923 yep would totally agree
Nice production !
Thank you so much.
wow
eh si spacca
I think it would be so cool to make this a walking path- kind of like a new type of through-hike... I think it sounds fun. People could open up camping sites and also cool little bungalow motels again.
Is on my bucket list!
Loved this after cars
yea... looking so much forward to my trip, later in the year... been on the bucket list for decades.. - now is the time
I always want to go along Route 66 so all
Thre motels etc are long gone ??
There are still some. Some businesses are operating as they were 70 years ago, some are preserved as attractions, and sadly some are dilapidated.
May you please make a video on the phantom car in that road where you chase it and it vanishes
Who handed you that line of BS??
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yes babyyyy we want more !!!!!!🥵🥵🥵😒🥵
I never been there!!
Route 66 was finally decommissioned in ‘85, not ‘84 with that last segment being in Williams, Arizona.....

They should just maintain whatever is left of the hotel sings and restaurants as historical sites because IT IS an identity,a face of what our country looked like,of who we are how far we’ve come.
KA
I think I saw blood by that building at 4:14. But great video tho.
Railroad Million thats not blood
Oh okay. There was a red blob on the ground and I assumed that it was blood.
