What an inspiration! Such a great idea you had to make a living diary of your harp journey. That was wonderful to see.
Thanks to Christy-Lyn …it’s so helpful looking back at your hand positions and working on correcting them. Thank you Maris.
Very inspiring! 🙏
Well done @@CarolineWeharp7 . Who is the harp song by? And do you know where can I get the sheet music for it? If I google harp song sheet music, I just get a lot of random harp sheet music haha. Thank you in adance.
@@CarolineWeharp oh, I looked through all of the comments and comment replies and I can't seem to see any that say where I could get the sheet music. Who is the song by and maybe I can find it that way?
@@AmataGoldiesorry for late reply..thank you very much.
Amazing progress and beautiful playing! I'm 23 years old and have rheumatoid arthritis. I stopped trying to learn the harp because I thought it would make my pain worse, but seeing your hands get stronger and loosen up has me rethinking my decision!
Hi Cielia, thank you for posting your comment, you are very young to have R/A sorry you have to deal with the limitations. The reasons I chose the harp was because I noted the position of the hand is fairly straight in shape..no bending of the wrist’s..which had in the past hindered my bass playing and caused Carpal Tunnel. In my experience with the harp it is helping me, you are the only one who can judge if you may or may not benefit from it, I hope if you do go back to learning it may help you, but importantly know when to rest your hands.
That's so motivating to show all the passages from beginning 'til one year later! :D Very good point! And she did it GREAT!
Thanks for your comment Maatkara Maatkara.😊
Wow! You practiced that blond harp black and blue!
My progress in learning the harp consists of short but regular practice sessions, I believe you are able to absorb more without overwhelming yourself.
Wonderful, you're an inspiration!
Thank you Ann Marie Bucchino..Christy-Lyn Inspired me 😊
Great job, it was beautiful!!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you Dolo.
Beautiful playing! ❤️

One of the best harp videos I have ever seen. Truly inspirational. Congratulations and thank you.
Hello @francishetherton1837 I have a lot of learning ahead of me yet, thank you for your comment, happy harping.
You have done amazingly well! I just started. So encouraging to see what can be accomplished 😊
Thank you..wonderful to hear that you are learning
I feel inspired!!!
Thank you, I am so grateful to having access to Christy-Lyn’s Courses.
Loved your journey. I like to go back to my early pieces and see how much smoother my playing is. I haven't videoed much though. Great job!
Thank you Susan, it’s great that you can look back at the few videos you have made of yourself.
This is quick progress. You did something very right in your practice.
Lots of enthusiasm, Christy-Lyn’s Courses are set out in such a way that it really does enable you to progress with playing a piece and learning something new in every course.
This is very inspiring. Thank you for sharing your journey! :)
Thank you😊
Inspiring! I’ve been wanting to learn for years. Thanks for posting. I. Glad to hear it’s helped your hands. I’m hoping it does the same for me.
Thank you ❤
Wauw!! What a wonderful year. And what an achievement! You can be proud of yourself! As a Learning the harp-student myself I know all the songs you played, but I can’t -yet- play the mail as fluent as you do. Very well done🎉
Hi Chantal, yes I recognise you from LTH..thank you for your lovely reply.
Amazing!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
😊
This is wonderful to see and hear. I am really drawn to the harp. Increasingly with my Irish blood calling and the symbols of spirals, harps and Goddesses of Celtic folklore that gather and contain such wisdom. I play a bit of guitar and think will definitely explore investing in a harp - now off to research that....thanks for this uplifting channel.
Christy-Lyn’s channel is wonderful, hope you find your harp..they are so calming to play.
Wow, just woow❤
Thank you
OHH WOW,
I have been toying with wanting to learn a musical instrument, but thought the harp might be too much for myself.
However, having seen your wonderful inspirational videos, you have invigorated me to learn.
Thank You
That’s wonderful Chris.
You made great progress over the course of just one year! I'm especially impressed at your improvement in hand technique.
Hi Cheryl, thank you..yes my hands were so closed when I first started learning with Christ-Lyn, but with her teaching and continued reminding of “Thumbs up” I have made progress, still so much to learn.
@@CarolineWeharp 😄My first lesson with my harp teacher started with a strong emphasis on "Thumbs up!" and I was sent home with a copy of rules called "Harp Commandments" according to Marion Fouse who was my harp teacher's harp teacher. I made a point to practice them even over the piece I was learning because I knew it is very difficult to unlearn bad habits. Happy Harping!
Happy Harping to you too Cheryl. 😊
Well Done
Thank you
@@CarolineWeharp Your very welcome !
I started harp just last July , August . I felt a calling from her . Slow start but getting there , I am . You inspire others . Keep at it !
God bless
So glad you are learning too👍🏻 hope to see you play your harp one day!
You don't seem to be reading any music? So you have memorised all the music and how to play it? That's brilliant! Well done!
Hi, I have been a visual learner with the pieces you see here, through Christy-Lyn’s Online Tutorials..I am working on reading sheet music now, these courses have been a marvellous introduction to being able to play pieces right away, guiding you step by step with hand positions etc..every course you learn something new to move on to new levels.
Wow that's amazing progress you look like a natural born player, I'm thinking about getting a harp sometime also😊
That’s very exciting if you decide to get a harp..you will love the sound of one and how it makes you feel. Thank you for your comment.
So much fun to watch your progress! I've been exactly where you were. Sadly I didn't keep a video journal. It would be such an experience looking back at it now. I recognize all the CL songs\courses you featured. Happy Harping. Did you begin with a Dusty Strings? What is the dark wood harp?
Thanks Jane, my black harp is a teifi Student harp with 34 Strings.
You made me cry with Over The Rainbow for your brother in law 😢
🫶🙏
You are so encouraging, great job! 👏👏May I ask about your gloves? I have Raynaud too and wonder, if there is something special on the market or we just try to stay warm 🌻🌻🤗🤗
@@CarolineWeharp7 ah, great, will check that out, thanks a lot 🌻🤗🌻
That's actually very good! I wonder if she could already play another instrument. She is musical
Hi, I used to play bass guitar. 😊
If you can do it so can l wonderful
Hi Jacinta, never say never.
Wow. Amazing progress and so quickly!! Weeeee. AND two harps. What were they?
❤ Thanks Annette..They are both teifi Harps, the light one I had hired and the black one I purchased with the upgraded Levers.
@@CarolineWeharp7 oh thank you. 😃😃
I'm the same age as you and waiting for my very first harp to arrive. 4 more days! This give me a great deal of hope!! Are you totally self-taught or do you have a teacher? Did you have any prior musical training on any other instrument before this? Wonderful job you've done. You should be really proud!!!
Hi there! That’s super exciting that your harp is coming so soon!!! 🥳 Caroline had some previous experience playing bass guitar, but she didn’t know how to read sheet music. She taught herself harp exclusively from Video Courses 😊 I hope you have fun with your harp when it arrives! Sending love, Christy-Lyn xx
So exciting for you to be Learning soon on your new harp.. Enjoy every moment.
Awww thanks what an inspiration! How many hours did you practise daily?
Hi there, thanks for your comment. I would practice most days on and off regularly, I made sure to rest my hands frequently to avoid injury and brain fog.
Beautiful harp! Do you mind sharing what harp it is and where you purchased it?
Oo I’m not sure but hopefully Caroline will come and answer your comment! 🤗
Hi there, thanks for your question..My student harp was purchased from Teifi Harps in Wales UK, it’s called a Siff Saff, in a piano black finish lacquer. Unfortunately this Family run business is no longer trading, but you may be able to buy one second hand.
What online course did you use?
Caroline learned from our courses at Learning the Harp 😊 She’s a member, getting a new course every month 🤗💕
Hello, nice progress. who is “the harp song” by?
@relaxin2074 hi the harp song is by Isobel Mieras
Thank you @@CarolineWeharp
what harp are you using?
Hi, both harps are Siff Saff Student harp with 34 strings from Teifi Harps in Wales UK.
I love that blond harp. Maker?
It was made by Teifi harps 😊
Hi there. This is so encouraging and inspirational. Could you recommend a harp for a beginner and a online course please? Thank you kindly
Hi there Daughter of the King! Such an exciting journey you’re starting on!! 😃🎉🙌🏻 We have a monthly membership at www.learningtheharp.com of online courses that allow you to learn the harp from the very beginning to advanced - that’s how Caroline in the video learned to play 😊👍🏻 But if you’re just starting out, I’d suggest starting with our starter program at www.harpforthelord.com - it takes you from the first time playing your harp all the way to playing beautiful pieces in 6 weeks! 🤩 There’s also a free E-book on that page that gives recommendations for buying your first harp 🤗🎶
@@LearningtheHarp oh wow thank you so much for your well explained reply. I’m going to seek your advise. So anxious and excited!
Hello ! I’m still having trouble in opening the free ebook for the harp choices to buy. Trying it again. Also could you tell me if you teach “Avinu” , same you played with Joshua Aaron , in your course ?thank you kindly ❤
@@LearningtheHarp I’ve signed up with 3 different emails for the free ebook so I can learn about which harp to buy it , but my iPad or phone won’t open it the links provided. Is there any other way please ? Thank you !
Hi there, sorry I missed your replies!! Pls email us at hello@learningtheharp.com so we can help you figure out what’s going wrong or send it to you another way. Sorry about the struggles! Xx
