Welcome to another episode of The Eight Nine Garage. In this episode we replace the frayed hood release cable in The Eight Nine. We use the Daniel Carpenter Repro piece, and it works and fits as good as new. Replacing this cable proactively prevents a "no pop" issue with your hood. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video! My cable has to be pushed back in for the hood to close properly. Now I know it isn’t that bad to fix it.

That is correct, I had a week power brake booster that failed on me at an inopportune time. Having to install a new bumper and hood along with the core support and passenger fender apron. The cowl was dented in when I purchased the car from the infamous hood fly open issue and that was repaired also. Can't wait to get it back!
