Etho, use purple or magenta carpet when red isn't a good option for the library! Purple's a color often associated with the arcane arts, but also with royalty and luxury. Enchantments are often seen as an indicator of wealth and power, both of which are linked to royalty like kings and queens. PLus, enchants like efficiency and unbreaking can be thought of as a luxury, not a necessity.
You know why purple is associated with royalty? Back in the day, the Phoenicians got these snails from the Mediterranean and extracted their "purple juice", at the time it was rare to see the color purple except in some flowers, so the Phoenicians sold it for lots of $ and only royalty could afford it.
Autreen Mirhosseini I took a Game Art Design class, we went over the meanings of all the colors :P and you see magic commonly used when there's magic. For example, look to Hearthstone and MLP (Yes, yes, I know, it's MLP, but my point stands).

I like the pools, but I think that it resembles the mancave too much, with the same organic feel. It doesn't feel like an old, musty library if it's all green and vibrant either.
I think the pools break up the detailed royal look in a refreshing way, adding in greens and blue to make up for all of the red and brown. He should do other things with similar colors, or just different colors, to break it up. Otherwise it gets repetitive. And EthosLab remember there is such a thing as too much 3D detail.
I think that he should do other things to make the library more colorful. The waterfalls just feel out of place for me. I like the look, but I don't think that it goes with the whole 'library' theme.

I think it was more a matter of keeping his transport. His tunnels run for literally thousands of blocks- walking them would be worse than losing a sword.
I positively love that library so far! I'd just do a simple item elevator (with solid blocks all the way up). Imagine this: you enchant a couple books, nowhere to put 'em, so you throw them in the ponds. But wait- what's this? The books are magically whisked away by the water into your book storage system! I think that'd be cool, anyway.
Wouldn't it be cool to use the banners in the library as section markers for the building? Like you got signs in every public library where everything is... like novels, non-fiction books, fantasy and so on. Not sure, how difficult it would be to use Minecraft banners for that, but I kinda like the idea, especially because of your idea to vary colors and motive.

Use them on those little shelves that have carpet next to the armor stands. 3) You made such an awesome area for the enchanting table, yet the anvil just gets put on a shelf... It's just as important! Make something special for it! I would love to see a redstone contraption that pushes a new anvil out of the floor when you need it.

There are videos trying to sketch Etho or try to Imagen what he looks like, they watch all his videos trying to put together what he likes or he might look like, it's pretty funny to watch.
I really liked the old library, but major props for tearing it down! If you didn't have a direction for it, and could do it better, I'm glad it is gone. The enchanting pit looks amazing!

Etho when you enchant put a gold item in first because they have a higher enchant ability and it will lock all items of that type (swords, picks etc) to have gold enchant ability so you get higher enchantments
I just want to make sure I understand what you said because it's a bit confusing. You're saying that golden items have a bonus to enchanting (which I think is common Minecraft knowledge) and that if you put a golden pickaxe in the enchanting table, because the new way enchantments work you can then enchant a diamond item with the enchantment that was intended to be used on a gold item?
Etho, have you ever considered making a series on a game not at all related to Minecraft? I know you have done games like Don't Starve and Pixel Piracy but I think you should look into other games such as Unturned, Game Dev Tycoon, BeamNG.Drive, and Space Engineers or even bigger games for more mature audiences such as Rust. I have a feeling that I am not the only one who would LOVE to see you make a series on some of those games.
I really like the new library! But I'm not a huge fan of the foliage and organics in the pit. I think the water should go further down into a pool below the red carpet leading up to the enchanting table, with the red carpet on a bridge above this pool, with only stone around it. I don't like the incorporation of the warm brown wood colors with the fresh green natural colors.
Yes, I think you're right. There is way too much green, and the water is everywhere. Imagine libraries in real life. They don't put potted plants everywhere...
About the enchanting viewing area: the halfslabs in front of the fences look a bit ugly, but you can replace them with carpets and put fences directly underneath the front. So you can have a nice view + keeping the floor style
Make the ponds more "man made" rather than organic. For example stone slabs (or any other blocks that would fit the build more) around the edges instead of dirt. I feel that just adds to the build instead of taking away from it.
I like the little waterfalls going into the ponds, but to make it a more traditional library, you could either put a secret bookshelf piston door going to another room, or put a painting and a door behind it going to another room. Love the vids!
Etho, After you finish the library, the lower part of the man cave the nexus and a few other projects will you start season 3 of survival. If so could you try to finish it on episode 300, that way you could finish season 3 on episode 600. It would be adding 100 episodes every season.
Shmoo Smith lol it took me 2 times to figure it out. but Emerald King he already said that he doesn't plan on starting a new season and there really isnt any need to. If he wants to do something in the newer terrain (which he is already doing) all he has to do is travel. And the 3 projects you just listed are the few of MANY that he has going right now. Also it is impossible for him to finish on episode 300 because he is on 379 and if you are talking about just this season (being about 279) there is no way he can even attempt to finish all of the things he is working on (without the urge to start something else, which is quite common) in the next 21 episodes.
***** probably not. The terrain changes it really messed up the old worlds. So if they didnt change redstone not only would he probably run out of things to do, but his forest world would probably be like half desert/half snow biome. It looks really weird
Dear Etho and other people reading this, This will be my last youtube comment for a while. I have found that I have gotten addicted to youtube and now realize I must stop to get anything done. I have to stop feeding my addiction. So, because of this, I am going to try to get into the comment books. My question is, Etho, I know you've played other games before, but it doesn't seem like you've played any of them and enjoyed them as much as minecraft. As a child, or any other previous time in your life, have you ever played and got so addicted to a game that you played it all the time like minecraft? I have been wondering this for a while and I hope it gets answered, even though I won't be there if it does...
Maybe you should limit your subscriptions. Watch only your favorites and only your favorite series by some youtubers. Start by thinning the number of videos you watch a little by little until you are satisfied :)
I am just loving seeing how Etho evolves through the years and how he develops his building style :) I love Etho's attitude towards building and doing things. you can LEARN to do it you just have to do it ... to learn it!
You have to consider the fact building is actually pretty easy in comparison- Wilson is as complex if not more so than the Nexus! It takes particular inspiration to work on him. It's like trying to build life in minecraft- it's exhausting slow evolution.
Wilson would be a good thing to livestream, because people in the chat could help him/give him suggestions! (ETHO! THIS IS JUST ANOTHER REASON TO STREAM! :P)
Etho I think you should stick with the "royal" feel in the library, and having water there is rather odd and doesn't feel right. I reeeeally like the rest of the structure tho, keep it up.

etho most people may not see how much time you are spending on each video. i mean most youtubers would just do a whole episode with just braking the library. you just spent more than one hour braking it.and it was like 20 sec of montage in the vid. the thing i wanted to say was keep it up, you make my days. :)

Etho can you please do a tour on your setup? When you say you did a ton of work and you watched youutbe videos in the backround do you mean you have a second monitor or you used a second tab? I'm sure a lot of people are very curious of what computer you have (bad example because you've mentioned it in prevous episodes) what recording software you use, if you have a good chair, so on. Etho you said there are 25 enchantments in MC why not have a random enchant button? U said there would be 26 buttons so Why not have a Random Button in the middle?
I like the water feature in the enchanting room because it helps connect you man cave and the library so they don't seems like two different builds, it makes i fell like it was very planed out.
Etho, since you have 26 slots in your Library for calling books, why don't you just put your comment of the days in the 26th slot and every day you switch it out. I think that would be so cool if you did that. Then, your comment of the day would just pop right out of the floor. Like if you approve of this! :)

I like the little waterfalls going into the ponds, but to make it a more traditional library, you could either put a secret bookshelf piston door going to another room, or put a painting and a door behind it going to another room. Love the vids!

After you finish the library, the lower part of the man cave the nexus and a few other projects will you start season 3 of survival. If so could you try to finish it on episode 300, that way you could finish season 3 on episode 600. It would be adding 100 episodes every season.

Shmoo Smith lol it took me 2 times to figure it out. but Emerald King he already said that he doesn't plan on starting a new season and there really isnt any need to. If he wants to do something in the newer terrain (which he is already doing) all he has to do is travel. And the 3 projects you just listed are the few of MANY that he has going right now. Also it is impossible for him to finish on episode 300 because he is on 379 and if you are talking about just this season (being about 279) there is no way he can even attempt to finish all of the things he is working on (without the urge to start something else, which is quite common) in the next 21 episodes.
***** probably not. The terrain changes it really messed up the old worlds. So if they didnt change redstone not only would he probably run out of things to do, but his forest world would probably be like half desert/half snow biome. It looks really weird

This will be my last youtube comment for a while. I have found that I have gotten addicted to youtube and now realize I must stop to get anything done. I have to stop feeding my addiction. So, because of this, I am going to try to get into the comment books. My question is, Etho, I know you've played other games before, but it doesn't seem like you've played any of them and enjoyed them as much as minecraft. As a child, or any other previous time in your life, have you ever played and got so addicted to a game that you played it all the time like minecraft? Maybe you should limit your subscriptions. Watch only your favorites and only your favorite series by some youtubers. Start by thinning the number of videos you watch a little by little until you are satisfied :)

You have to consider the fact building is actually pretty easy in comparison- Wilson is as complex if not more so than the Nexus! It takes particular inspiration to work on him. It's like trying to build life in minecraft- it's exhausting slow evolution.
Wilson would be a good thing to livestream, because people in the chat could help him/give him suggestions! (ETHO! THIS IS JUST ANOTHER REASON TO STREAM! :P)

Etho I think you should stick with the "royal" feel in the library, and having water there is rather odd and doesn't feel right. I reeeeally like the rest of the structure tho, keep it up.

etho most people may not see how much time you are spending on each video. i mean most youtubers would just do a whole episode with just braking the library. you just spent more than one hour braking it.and it was like 20 sec of montage in the vid. the thing i wanted to say was keep it up, you make my days. :)

Dear Etho, I was wondering what are your thoughts on UHC are currently. Is there a reason why you haven't been participating recently, or have you just missed them? Etho can you please do a tour on your setup? When you say you did a ton of work and you watched youutbe videos in the backround do you mean you have a second monitor or you used a second tab? I'm sure a lot of people are very curious of what computer you have (bad example because you've mentioned it in prevous episodes) what recording software you use, if you have a good chair, so on. I like the water feature in the enchanting room because it helps connect you man cave and the library so they don't seems like two different builds, it makes i fell like it was very planed out.
Etho, since you have 26 slots in your Library for calling books, why don't you just put your comment of the days in the 26th slot and every day you switch it out. I think that would be so cool if you did that. Then, your comment of the day would just pop right out of the floor. Like if you approve of this! :)
