did you ever get anything to work? The shift key doesnt work for me either
I did everything you said and held the shift key the whole time. But it just went on like a normal reset? Please help!

If I reset the whole system that means none of my pics will be there correct? Also im not tech savvy at all but my laptop 1769 surface has slowed considerably down its very frustrating would you recommend a total reset or just partial reset? Also my dad bought this brand new when it first came out along with a brand new key board id love to switch to the red key board the gray one is peeling how would I do that? He was told by micro soft he could switch this out but idk how this can be done personally but please help me if you can thank you

Hi I bought my surface at an auction
Someone took all off
I tried holding the shift key
And it just shows password page
But when push shift key and can't get power button up what do I do
I've tried this several times but get stuck in cloud download and local reinstall. I'm connected to wifi but it goes back to "choose an option" without reinstalling.
I had already gotten to the page where you select how you want to reinstall windows. However, when I select either option it goes back to the "Choose an Option" screen. I have no idea why this is happening or how to get beyond it to reset. Any help is appreciated! And thanks for your great video library :)

Unfortunately this method hasn't worked with any Lenovo laptops. It still ask for either a Microsoft account password or pin
Same. I just tried it. 🤬 I refuse to create an account. What did you end up doing?
Because this isn't for a Lenovo. This is only for Surface Pros
it asks for ,icrosoft ID and / or windows ID
Mine says "Additional free space is needed on the device where Windows is installed. Free up some space and try again
I have a Microsoft surface pro 6, i recently did a new windows update and upon restart it went into automatic repair following a blue screen of "BitLocker". It asks me to enter the recovery key and when i do that it goes into automatic repair and says it could not repair the PC. I have tried several different things i find online (including: troubleshooting, resetting PC, startup repair, uninstall updates, system restore, and several things on command prompt) that all didn't get me anywhere, maybe i wasn't doing some of it correctly. Any ideas? Thank you!
1. You already tried uninstalling the last update using the startup repair options and that did not help?
2. At that point I would try reinstalling the operating system.

I was hoping to recover the PIN/PWD screen without wiping the Surface clean. Why? There's a small matter of personal files that are still on the Surface.
When I get to the stage to reset and keep files . It asks me for my recovery key ID?

Hey, Jamin. I had this problem a few weeks ago, where I had forgotten my pin # for me to turn on my computer. Unfortunately, I ended up having to make up a new pin number. Lol

Your computer has no keyboard? Can you use an external one?
Ok when I cluck on the trouble shooting option it goes strait to advanced option no reset option
What do you see after choosing the advanced options? Also, do you not remember the password or is the computer not accepting the correct password?

Restrictions on my UEFI setting prevent me from getting to its settings. Your advice doesn't work for me.
When I try this, it asks me to provide my Microsoft account password, which I don’t remember and am having trouble retrieving. Can you bypass that?

I followed along and then the unlock your Microsoft experience menu comes up with sign in option only. I don't want to create an account, but I will not allow me to go further without doing it. GRRR!!! HELP!

The trouble is after selecting remove everything it comes up with this, there was a problem while resetting your 🖥
If the reset option does not work and you are unable to reset, perhaps try the new install option. At 1:56 in this video, choose the bottom option for 'Advanced Options' instead and follow the prompts for the New Install. You may need to use a Install Media USB option to finish the new install option. You can see how to create those for free here:

I chose the long way and now I need a bios password. This is ridiculous to me as I have searched everywhere and only see people having to apart the laptop. Any advice please? Makes no sense I cannot use my computer at all anymore when it was bought legitimately and given as a gift.

I need your help. I'm willing to try this if nothing else will work. But here's the situation: my twin brother was very much into gaming and computers. He had two high end gaming pcs set up with 4 monitors so he could game, mod, and watch videos of the games he was playing. About 3 weeks ago he took his own life. He didn't leave a note or will that I could find. If he had anything like that it would be on one of his computers. But they are password protected. And since his phone is disconnected I can't get any resets codes sent....yada yada yada. Its a rabbit hole. So i hope you can understand how important it is to me to access his computer with as much information intact as possible. The PC I am working on currently is a corsair vengence a7200 if that helps.
