Snapes last word: "You have your mother's eyes"
*Crying*
i wasn't crying when snape dies i was sobbing and and wanting to destroy voldy and nagini.
Same thing when Sirius fell through the veil i was sobbing angry and wanting to kill Bellatrix.
THIS IS ABOUT LILY
Eagle Teresa someone hasn't watched deathly Hallows part two, sure the song IS called lilys theme, but it is played in scenes with snape alone or dead
What really pissed me off is that statement doesn't fucking fit in the films because Harry's eyes were blue and little lily's eyes were brown. Such a small thing, yet hugely important, and yet they don't fix it with contacts or CGI
Even though this phrase was not in the books, I AM SO GLAD that they incorporated this into the movie. Right when Harry leaned into Snapes face as he was was dying, I said in my head as we watched in theaters the exact same time as Snape said them out loud "You have your mother's eyes" my heart melted and said YES out loud in the theater unintentionally. My wife poked me ;)
The actor of Snape... Gone

"Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living. And above all, those who live without love." - Albus Dumbledore

I think he just sidestepped the actual question because its inherently pointless, as nothing he says or does Will remove the uncertainty anyway.
Does it hold any deeper significance as in regards to the movie? I seriously doubt it

@@amarichambers391 Wait, what did I do to earn this?
Amari Chambers what the hell? What did they do to you? You were being a real jerk when you commented that about Mystic.
Snape died looking into Harry's eyes, the eyes of a boy who survived because the woman he loved had died. The eyes of a boy who looked like the spitting image of his father; the man who bullied him, then married the love of his life. Imagine having to look into those eyes at that moment; the eyes that both pained you intensely and made you feel love more than anything in the world. Snapes final moments were perhaps the greatest we saw in any character.
And this music exactly captures that feeling. It's both sad and beautiful and relieving at the same time.
Yeah. Fred died laughing but with Snapes death we actually got to see emotion from him

Verdade.
Lily sacrificed herself to Voldemort for Harry. Her screams echoed and haunted the world for almost two decades. Finally Harry sacrifices himself and defeats Voldemort. Her screams turn into a beautiful but haunting song. Finally released from her prison. Instead of hearing Voldemort’s screams as he disintegrates you hear her voice finally conquering him.

@April Mocarsky Yeah, I don't think there's really anything to make someone not like the movies. They were done extremely well. Of course they can't follow the books scene for scene, just like any movie adapted from a book, but man they captured the essence of the story very well.
@April Mocarsky The 6th and last movies are downright awful. They don't understand the characters or themes or tone. The action is painfully, excruciatingly boring for a battle between freaking wizards.
Oh yeah, that and all continuity gets thrown out the window. Hogwarts in 7 part 2 looks so completely different from literally every other movie, it doesn't even feel like the school we grew up with. It's hard to resonate with a climactic battle when it feels foreign and unknown.

"Always." This word means nothing and everything at the same time. This song is like the echo of Lily's haunting voice, as if her spirit would be present forever, always.
Hearing this in the cinema in 2011 and seeing that opening with Snape, gave me fucking goosebumps. 🙌
This song is beautiful on its own, but the way that it was used in the movie just took it and the film itself to that extra level. After 10 years of various arrangements of Hedwig's Theme, it's a wonderful tonal indicator when this plays instead in the opening credits. It has a softly mournful, reflective tone to it. It evokes both the tragedy and sacrifice of war in this final conflict between the good and the ultimate force of evil, and the sadness of Snape's true story. This works brilliantly with the other themes of the film; seeing Hogwarts, once this bastion of all the good in the world, transformed into a warzone; knowing the inevitability of Harry's fate; that this is the end of all things.
Even the imagery that accompanies the song as it mournfully plays its tune at the film's opening, helps to make this song so meaningful and layered. Voldemort pierces the sky with the most powerful wand in existence, an obvious cue as to the hopelessness of the situation, and the suicidal challenge faced by Harry & co. Then the music kicks in, and we tie this dreadful image with Lily's wails in the wind, lending it this mournful image, which later gains greater sadness owing to the Snape revelation (which had me in floods of tears when I last saw it). Then, a silent Hogwarts, cold and grey, surrounded by dementors. After 6 movies spent making the school feel as human as any other character, to see it defiled in such a way is painful to see. Snape, meanwhile stands, unmoving, staring at the middle distance from high in the castle, and we see a brief look of woe flash in his eyes. The silence, the long takes, the fade cuts, it adds up to create this pragmatic understanding that this is the end. The Harry Potter here is not the Harry Potter we met in 2001. There is no coming back from this.
This was the first Harry Potter to look not to the future, but to the present. Going back to tone, the opening credits of each film have been good indicators as to the tone of the film as a whole: Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets, relics from a time when all Harry Potter could know was the joy of magic, had very epic intros, the title card flashing up on screen with a flash of lightning. In Prisoner of Azkaban, it got slightly darker- the colour of the logo changed from the hopeful gold of old to a more cautious silver, and appeared fragmented. In Goblet of Fire, they appeared over dark stormclouds, hints as to the climactic, world-changing reveal at the end, and were a darker iron. With each film, the colour of the logo got darker and paler, while the clouds around it got increasingly chokingly black. Then, in Part 1 of the Deathly Hallows, the beginning of the end, the logo is rusting and falling apart, hinting at the depressing turn the world has taken. Finally, in Part 2, we get this music, a dramatic turn from the usual, and the logo is pale as marble, though solid, hinting at the heavily sacrificial and mournful tone.
So true!

It somehow makes me cry. This song has it's own beauty which shows mingled grief and reproach.
Play this at my funeral. Such a serene ambient song with such meaning to it.
“I feel as if I’m walking in a forest, the snow is falling. I land on my knees in desperation and ask the world why...guide me, what is my purpose in life.”
That is what I think about whenever I listen to his depressing tune.
I feel like this song just sums it all up. The whole series. This is what the end of an era sounds like. This was the exact moment when a childhood of thousands of people was ending. I'm getting chills.
This song does encompass Harry's entire journey. But it wasn't just about him, was it? It was about his parents. James. Lily. And this is the theme of their revenge. Not a brutal revenge, bringing an era of chaos, but rather the perfect revenge of enabling everyone left alive to live their lives and be happy and free of fear of He Who Must Not Be Named.

This piece just completely reflects the horror's that Harry was forced to face and live with. It sums up to Harry thinking "He's taken everything from me. My parents, my friends and countless others. He destroyed my life. This is our endgame Tom Riddle, you're finished".
This also makes me think about everything Harry has witnessed and lost: his parents, James and Lily, Cedric, Sirius, Dumbledore, Hedwig, Mad-Eye, Dobby, Lupin, Tonks, Fred, Colin and Dennis Creevey, Lavender Brown and Snape. Just one thing I noticed, DH P2 didn't have Hedwig's theme like all others because Hedwig died in P1
Petunia was never a heartless person, she was just frightened by Lily and was overall worried sick about her and what she was getting into. She only played an act because Vernon and Dudley were always present. In the end, she might not have shown it, but she was always concerned about Harry, knowing what he and Voldemort had to do in the end. Just remember her last words to Harry, "You didn't just loose a Mother that night in Godric's Hollow you know. I lost a Sister". She was "always" true at heart.
Exactly my thoughts. Well said.
yet she still acted like lowlife. No matter what, she should love Harry truly, not only deep if at all. He was innocent child only corrupted person would punish him for something what happend before, like she did.
She despised him because he himself was a horcrux.

Don’t be sad that it ended.... be happy because it happened....
I commented this on another video of the same song, but I wanna say it here too...I've been a musician since 3rd grade (I'm almost 26 years old), and I can say without a smidgen of doubt that this is the most beautiful composition I've ever heard. No one on earth could have created anything better to represent Lily...in this piece, I hear the prancing footsteps of the ethereal little red head girl in the sunny field. I smell the flowers around her and feel the warmth of her smile. But I also feel the drawing and quartering of her essence, the way she gave herself for Harry...the unrequited and empty love between her and Snape, and the undying loyalty Snape felt for all of that time. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard more contemplative music in my life.
I have to add...it made me so very sad when I thought about the irony of what she said to baby Harry. "You are so loved." Yet she had no idea how loved she was.
I love your last sentence ❤Beautiful and so very true.

Pure? He wanted her, not as a person, but an object, a trophy. That is the one thing the movies got so incredibly wrong about Snape, and why so many people love him when they really shouldn't. He loved her, sure, but it was not pure in the slightest. If you disagree, that's fine.
“The ones who love us, never really leave. They’re with us. In here”.
I literally just cried all the way through this tune... Soooo beautiful...😞😔😭😭😭😞😣😭😭
pure healing! agree
It's not "that" good. It's just ok. There are way better tracks of the genre.
has nothing to do with what was being said
Lily Rose me too but its bc i'm doing my maths homework listening it lmaooo
This is pretty. This song does make you cry😭
playing this while i read harry potter...makes the book 10000x better
Maria Ali true
Maria Ali i did that too. Indeed, its perfect even without the music
Maria Ali That's what I'm doing it makes me kinda sad that Lily Didn't marry snape
whay did lilly marry harry potters father. whell nobody knows. or i duno
Nirigoni YES OF COURSE
This song is absolutely amazing. Lily’s screams turned into a song that gives me goosebumps when i listen to it. It makes my eyes tear up whenever i think about how amazing the Wizarding World is and how much I love it and wish to be a part of it.
The voice sounds so ghostly, like Lily is haunting the world until Voldemort dies, and when he does, she can finally actually move on and rest in peace. Does that make sense or am I stupid?
that actually makes sense
yes you’re
Your not stupid
People who think SSniperWolf "earned" her subs rightfully are
Brilliant actually
beautifully said
This sounds like Lily singing and praying for the deaths that where caused by Voldemort. Her soul was finally in peice. Rest in Peace Severus Snape. We will never forget those who died for our life's. #Always
After all This Time?

Always (9/04/2021)
after years of being in this fandom this never fails to make me cry, Harry potter will continue to be my favorite forever and always⚡️ ive been a fan since i was 5 and this breaks my heart. I was 6 when deathly hallows part 2 came out i cried being because i knew it was the end of my favorite franchise but it will always be in my heart
Fantastic beast revived the franchise and a HBO max series is being released hopefully the original actors return so it wasn't the end it was a new beginning
This is a wonderful example of less is more. this melody is simple yet perfectly matched the hopeless setting that the film was going for.
This song is amazing! It's like a door to the Wizarding World but you can't reach it😭❤️❤️ it's beautiful and sad at the same time😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
I agree
yh
I agree too because we care the one who we all love
|=a wand of power
o= a stone
/\= a cloak of invisibility
These make up the true deathly hallows
You should've put them in a different order:

Now it looks like a human figure without arms.

i played this while i was doing my very long Home work. This is the Best theme in the hary potter series.
R.I.P: SEVERUS SNAPE.
Wonderful music. Gentle, clean and unearthly exactly like Lily...
Every girl waits for her Prince Charming, but nobody knows that my heart belongs to the Half-Blood Prince, Always.
Edit - That was something I wrote when I was 16, pardon me ✋🏻
i feel you girl!
Always
Actually Prince isn't prince here
Prince is Snape's mother's (maiden) last name
But I get what you mean
well said, well said
Lily was dumb and went with that stupid Potter
Who else is scrolling to see if someone cried?

This song has so many levels. Provoking sorrow and grief while just under the surface there is hope. While it reminds of bad events it also reminds us the courage and strength it took to move past them
the novels are masterpiece, so many twists, so many heartbreaking deaths.
People from every culture are here to listen to this. Perfect. 😭
I played this while reading harry potter, it makes the book soooooo much better
Alissa Ye
Even me but the only book i didnt play this song and read is the half-blood prince. I played the "Dumbledores funeral" for that book........ R.I.P Dumbledore YwY
That theme the most darkest yet saddest one I've ever heard💚😭
Is*
Indeed
This is always a night before the dawn song. COYS!!!
I always think of Severus when I hear this. It always makes me break down about him
i think of fred saying "well, this is totally boring"
THIS IS ABOUT LILY!
Snape Snape Severus Snape and you should! Although this is called lilys theme, this is snapes theme..
But you are severus smh
This is not for a funeral, is for the moment just before something big happen, when you can see who are the real friends. Sometimes, only together we can carry on.
Franco Rocha hamen!
Stay Close
Perfectly said...
Stay Close deep
So.... *Before* you die.
For me this theme is for some big thing to end like Hp story :c
"It does not do to dwell on dreams... and forget to live." Best Dumbledore line that I tell myself all the time.
Whenever I am in a bad phase in my life and I feel utterly hopeless, I watch Harry Potter movies. Its that level of comfort for me. That there will be always light at the end of the tunnel. "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times"
