Someone sent a big batch of Legos to African villages. Two months later the parents said they saw the kids being more imaginative in problem solving. Didn't know if it was making them smarter, but it seems like a blessing.
I'm only 25 and don't have any kids, but I just feel like toys should be part of everyone's childhood. If all we're playing with is pieces of technology, then we're not going to get much variety in the way of self-entertainment.
Depends on your perspective. I played with plenty of toys sure, and those toys were like a mini world that I had in my mind as I would play. I played with lots of video games and those created even more worlds in my mind to play in. And some of the biggest and best worlds in my mind that I got to play in, came from reading Books.
I genuinely loved how honest the last kid was, because it's so true, kids do replicate what they see their parents doing, so we gotta try harder to use our imaginations to help teach our kids to do the same. Whoa, that kid at the end nailed it. We want kids to have less screen time but we don’t even think about he amount of time we are on a screen ourselves. Hypocrisy from adults always pissed me off as a kid so I try to watch what I say as a parent now.
Adults don't have a brain so plastic anymore and the reward mechanisms are already set in the brain. Sure, Adults must limit their screen time, but the damage it can do on a kid/teen is quite big.
You should change up your scoring system for the list episodes. Lowest score wins, and give one point for every spot off the reactor's guess is. For example, if they guess 10 and it is actually 8th, they get two points. If they guess 2 and it is 8th, they get 6 points.
Woo, the toys of my time! I'm surprised the Cabbage Patch Kid didn't rank higher. When they first debuted, they were the IT toy to have for Christmas. My mom got into a fight over one. :D How did Silly Putty get a higher rating? YES! Go Barbie!!!!!! :D
Watching these kids know all these toys and actually have played with them have brought back my hope in humanity, I’m glad that there are kids who are enjoying their childhood to the fullest without being obsessed with only technology or only normal toys
