Sideswipe and Sunstreaker don't get enough love outside of the G1 continuity. Two brothers with opposing personalities both serving a cause they believe in on their own terms! I'd watch a show featuring them!

Loved Sideswipe and Sunstreaker not only because they were cool, capable fighters but because they introduced this only child to the concept of Transformers being able to have brothers.
His Headmaster storyline was... dark... especially after the Decepticon invasion of Earth.... Hunter didn’t deserve that....
At least he was put out of his misery.

Neither did sideswipe, I myself have an older brother, I always pray that one day I’m able to reconnect with him, but not in that type of scenario.😭
My most memorable moment for Sunstreaker would definitely be his moment with Chip and learning that humans have value too.

I'm surprised they didn't include this guy in War for Cybertron Siege considering the fact that the show was riddled with Sideswipe clones.

Honestly, I like Sunstreaker more than Tracks because the flying corvette has even worse ego that it is borderline narcissism (which is actually pretty funny whenever Tracks takes a little heat)
It helps make Sunstreaker more relatable: Has an ego but values assistance from his teammates.
Hell, Sunstreaker even admits he hated humans at one point and it was because of him the Autobots were viewed as a threat.
He still has an ego, sure, but it is a managable ego. And that's what makes him memorable in my eyes. It makes him as human as the species he hated.

@rudy2fat no that was Sideswipe, but he died in Phase 3 which was way later, Sunstreaker lived to the end he did get a fake death thou.
It would be fun to see him developing rivalries with other narcisist transformers like Tracks or Knock Out. Or a one sided rivalry with Springer, who is considered one of the most handsome autobots.
Well, blaster did mentioned that tracks is not as egoistic as sunstreaker.

in some of my fanfic, Tracks and Sunstreaker get jabs in at one another occasionally about who's prettier. ;)
Oh I can imagine springer and sunstreaker arguing over who's more handsome when hot rod comes up to them and they ask him to tell Who's handsomer and hot rod saying neither it's hot rod the handsomest and all three then just breaking into a brawl. (I personally prefer springer)😆😝😏

Always thought Sunstreaker could have been used more in both the comics and the cartoons. His character is very similar to that of Tracks.

The G1 cartoon emphasized Sunstreaker's ego, but had to downplay his sociopathic tendencies. (Not exactly Saturday morning fare!)
Issues 7 & 8 of the brilliant Dreamwave comics I believe were the only time Sunny and Swipe had a specific mission together (under Jazz), and it was terrific to see them fight...the 'Cons AND each other!
So yes, a bot as deadly, potent and effective as Streaker should DEFINITELY get more press than he's gotten in the past. Actually, Sunstreaker's his own best press agent! 😂
Yeah Transformers Prime's Knockout was closer to Sunstreaker's original bio.

Many wave 1 G1 autobots get overlooked Blue Streak and Sun Streaker are two of the most overlooked and my favs
I can imagine Sunstreaker and Tracks fighting for the mirror in the Autobots' bathroom after a new paint job.
There are so many great G1 characters that I am always looking for more stories about them. Sunstreaker is one of those characters that could have had more story lines. They also never really delved into the relationship w/ his brother Sideswipe in the G1 cartoon. Potential for more G1 transformers is there.

Sunstreaker is a awesome character in the Transformers universe. From his red to yellow color switch, being Sideswipes brother, and to his style. It's good to see that he has returned to the spotlight in the Earthrise toyline, and hopefully in the Netflix series.
-It's also great news that his other mold brothers, Spinout and Cordon, has join him in the masterpiece toyline and the Generations Selects section of Earthrise.

Sunstreaker was and still is my absolute favorite. He was the very first Transformer I recieved in the 80's. So he'll always have a special place in my heart, plus I really loved the Lp500's

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm glad I still have the G1, Alternators, and Universe figures. Would love to get the Masterpiece but I'm not rich. That line is too pricey for my budget. Perhaps someday. I've always wondered who is more egotistical & full of themselves: Sunstreaker or Tracks. It's a close tie.

If I remember right both Cosmos and Broadside talk about there paint jobs to. I think Cosmos was on that planted with the fish people can change there looks for merpeople to human or the one that Seaspray love that she change herself to be a robot. As for Broadside it was that horrable one forgot the title but it had the aliens with singing voice

Sunstreaker was my first Transformer back in 84 ! Love this channel 🤟 (3:43 noticed how they reversed the colour on the vehicle modes in the left panel of the marvel comic) 👍

'Streaker was one of my favorites from the G1 toy line. Mine now has a broken wheel (held in place by glue) and loose joints because I played so much with it. He's a great character. I wonder if he'd ever have a beauty competition with Tracks. There's a feud that might never end!

IDW and Dreamwave both did it, and I love them for it, but I'd be really really happy to see the brothers team up on screen again.

That was an interesting retrospective on Sunstreaker, but that was the weirdest comic book story explanation on him I've ever heard.

You honestly can't help but feel bad for Sunstreaker in the comics, having to sit there and watch his brother die, being forced to combine with Cosmos, Thundercracker, Sky Lynx and..what was the last guy's name? "Slugslinger" or something like that?
Either way, I just feel like Sunstreaker was left out too much, and I'm glad that he's now got a new Earthrise figure, so at least folks can have both him and Sideswipe together again. That might've sounded a bit too mushy, but who cares

I had the Diakron DK1 as a kid (my very first transforming toy ever!) and loved it dearly. As such, I was the only kid in my neighborhood with the red "Sunstreaker." I was always disappointed that he was never more prominent in media, as he was always central to my play time.
I did NOT realize how tragic he is as a character, good lord! I might actually get him now that I know about him.
One of the things that I have always liked about Sunstreaker is the fact that he could and would back up easily everything that was in his abilities, just like Sky Lynx would and could!!! He is a very effective Autobot Warrior. Sky Lynx's motto: "The best achievements are worth repeating."
Poor Sunstreaker didn't show up in Netflix WFC, and even worse is that Kingdom implies he died before the series even began.
I've been obsessed with him ever since I discovered some old G1 artbook/calendar my brother had. The toy artwork was mesmerizing and the idea of a Countach with dual superchargers and intake scoops was wild.
Sunstreaker deserve better,maybe one day he will shine on the screen.
We will see his true beauty emerging!

I really like what Furman did with Sunstreaker during his run on the IDW comics. However, I was introduced to the IDW version of the character through All Hail Megatron which really shows how his own ego can cause problems not just for the Autobots, but for the humans as well.
Yes, my favourite character gets a retrospective before he's made another appearance outside of toy lines and comics. But seriously why has his brother been seen more than him in games/tv/films.
One of my all time favorite G1 Autobots! I heard a rumor that the only reason why we never got any re-issues of his G1 toy was because his mold was destroyed. I am happy there will be a Sunstreaker figure coming out though.
Might I mention that Roll For it was the First ever Transformers episode I saw. SO SUNSTREAKER AND SIDESWIPE RIDING THE SEEKERS WAS THE COOLEST THING AS A KID.
G1 Sunstreaker was my first TF toy. And as much as I have always loved that toy, I never really liked how they treated this character in comic and toon. Sunstreaker being tortured they way he was in the comics really annoyed me. The character really never got a chance to shine while Sideswipe got a lot more love over the years. Sunstreaker also was denied a new toy until the Universe line. We didn't get another Deluxe until the Combiner Wars toys. At least he finally gets a good mold for the WFC Earthrise line.
Sideswipe was the first transformer I bought, never owned Sunstreaker for some reason. Man it's just good to relive my childhood through these videos.

1:32 In the Diaclone concept art for Sunstreaker, Takara didn't show the squared-off, chunky fenders of the toy. Instead, they showed a car mode with the swoopy curves of a real Countach.
And in the MP Sunstreaker mold, they did the same thing.

As the Diakron DK 1 was my first transforming toy, I have always had a spot for sunstreaker. I just ordered the spinout combo pack early this morning on BBTS as I had to have him next to earthrise sunstreaker.

My guess for why Sideswipe got more attention over the years is because SUnstreaker is yellow and has uses his car's cabin as his torso while the nose is his feet, like Bumblebee.

Sunstreaker was my first Transformer toy when they first came out. My aunt and uncle along with my cousins were coming to visit and for some reason my mom bought Prowl and Sunstreaker. One for me and one for my cousin. (Why mom?)But, she gave me the option of picking which one I wanted. Being enamored with lambos at the time I picked Streaker.

In the IDW comics. Yeah. That was an undertaking to ensure I did him justice. I prefer his G1 cartoon character the most though and he deserves more spotlight.

(My prize issue cover, before it got lost into the nether, was Spiderman swinging around Megatron in a capture web.) Thanks for doing so much research into these guys. Love the retros. Carry on. Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and Overdrive are my all time favorites. Sunstreaker and Sideswipe because the cars are awesome, Overdrive because it was the first toy I was able to order through the mail even though it felt like it took a year to come in.
I also managed to get a custom mail order exclusive GI Joe from an offer in the back of a comic (I think). The offer allowed you to name the Joe, Choose abilities and equipment, write a back story for the card, and even use your own face if you sent in a recent photo. To be honest, it didn't really look much like me, though I pretended it did. I think I still have him somewhere. It's strange that I can't find any mention of the offer anywhere, though I know for a fact it did happen.
the fact that we didn't get sunny and sides in RiD'15 was a travesty. Give me more lamborghini twin shenanigans, please and thank you.

I would love too see Sunstreaker and Sideswipe in a future Transformers cartoon, If only to see their Jet Judo martial arts expanded on.
Fun fact: a blue Wal-Mart exclusive redeco of the movie figure "Sidearm Sideswipe" has the detail "sun bro" amung his sponsors. He was also name dropped by Ironhide in a Q&A book. So he does exist in the movie universe even though we never see him. He would have probably died quickly anyway if he had.
Had Sunstreaker as a kid. He was always my favorite with the extra firepower and armor.
The original toy is still great and I love the Earthrise one too.
It’s a shame that he was suppose to be in the Bumblebee film, but was ultimately cut. Thankfully, The new concept studio series just released the sun streaker figure, he looks pretty amazing, weirdly the front end resembles more of his brother sideswipes from end from the studio series dark of the moon figure, which is weird but still keeping them within the twin aesthetic

They should’ve at least given him a mention in RID2015. Seriously, not a word about him in 3 whole seasons.
Sunstreaker is just a fun character in Transformers and while his brother Sideswipe appears more, it would be cool to have Sunstreaker return and be paired with his brother whenever they were in battle together fighting decepticons. Plus I find his remarks about his looks hilarious especially when Sideswipe has a fun remark!
