Teaneck EMS..the worlds only emergency service that can be visually tracked from the International Space Station
The thing about these ambulances is that they have the law on their side. They are equipped with so much lighting that no matter the angle, you can see these. If you get into an accident with one of these, theres no way you can defend yourself if it was your fault.
Trying to cause an "accident" with these type of ambulance going to a emergency and saying " I didn't see the ambulance! " is just a way to lose.
Problem is then you can plead the case that there’s so many lights it’s disorienting to see so you crashed
@@k9officerft434 You can't. If there are a bunch of emergency vehicles lined up for a major motor vehicle collision, there will be just as many or more flashing lights than this ambulance. If you crash because you thought those were disorienting, the judge is going to throw the book at you and leave you witha big bill for damages.

Don’t quote me but I do believe that The reason they have all the lights is because in the 80s tvac got into an accident with a car while running code. They were sued and lost because the driver they hit claimed he couldn’t see the Ambulance. They than crammed lights anywhere they could. I also think that 75 has some prototype light from Federal Signal.
C J i don’t believe it’s Prototype anymore but the led rotary 15 inch bars were the prototypes

As many lights as the fleet has they could have bought 3 more complete Ambulances

Multiple lightbars and multiple sirens they went nuts!
Well most ambulances have at least 1 siren, but some departments add a Q or EQ siren. Its actually a bit more common than you might think.
The reason for all the lights on the newer rigs is because of the tradition that they started I believe back in the 70's.
More lights on these tricks than I’ve ever seen. Looks cool. Those grill lights are nice.

Did anyone ever stop to think that it these rigs exceed their amount of lights maybe so it can serve the optical illusion that there are TWO ambulances responding? If that's not the case, then the excessive amount of lights and sirens serve to those who don't pay attention too much to the road now these days.
The double stack light bars on the top are not necessary, but I sure like the grill setup.

Great video! Thanks for uploading the video! Just another video of nice looking buses that are ruined by too many lights. In addition to way too many there was no thought given on any type of synchronization. Although it may not be possible for all of them but, some effort should have been made to reduce the risk of looking like a Las Vegas billboard. The use of this many types of lighting technologies should be a what not to do when upfitting apparatus.

So many lights it's silly, a waste of money and bordering on dangerous. Despite all this they still aren't that visible.
The person in charge of lighting might need to lay off Red Bulls. While they look impressive, I bet each rig needs 3 alternators and they burn one out each month. That is way too much lightening. I say with LED technology, take off anything that rotates, any halogen lights, and strobes and go back down to 1 alternator on rig. You can get away with fewer LED lights and still be seen as effectively.
The amount of lights on those things just screams volunteer... These things look so dumb.
