"Dunkirk” features a prestigious cast, including Tom Hardy (“The Revenant,” “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Inception”), Mark Rylance (“Bridge of Spies,” “Wolf Hall”), Kenneth Branagh (“My Week with Marilyn,” “Hamlet,” “Henry V”) and Cillian Murphy (“Inception,” “The Dark Knight” Trilogy), as well as newcomer Fionn Whitehead. The ensemble cast also includes Harry Styles (One Direction) making his feature film debut.
Christopher Nolan (“Interstellar,” “Inception,” “The Dark Knight” Trilogy) is directing “Dunkirk” from his own original screenplay, utilizing a mixture of IMAX® and 65mm film to bring the story to the screen.

Think about it this way. Those fans of Harry's saw the movie. Which means they got introduced to the other actors in it as well. And they got introduced in a truly amazing true story that some of them may not have even known about, and if they did know about it that they didn't necessarily pay attention to before. So, those fans may have come for Harry in the beginning, but they left probably appreciating so much more about the history of the event and about the other actors portraying their favorite people in the film. Harry brought them in to see it, but he's not necessarily all they took away from it. It's the whole thing of getting them in the door, and then giving them something new that they may not have ever thought about if they hadn't come through that door.
It’s not our fault that they put an icon in a movie with people we just got introduced to like come on now what did they think the reaction was going to be when harry came

I disagree. Him being there adds publicity to the movie. I learned about the movie from being a fan of Harry's. What's sad is how they seem to be forgetting about the other actors who put hard work into the movie as well. It's okay to like the movie because of him, but it's not okay to focus all of the attention on Harry. All of the other actors deserve the same amount of attention that Harry is getting rather than it all being focused on him.

Poor Fionn, the announcer mixed him with Cillian Murphy, properly unfair, he's the main character, get at least his name right, everyone's already focusing on Harry.
Nothing in this world is hardly fair.. and Yes Harry got a lot of attention for his role in the movie more than other characters.. But thats coz he is already a celebrity.. he cant change that.. No one can.. The important thing is in the movie, everyone has a role and no one stole the spotlight.. The story did, the cinematography did, the background score did and the movie did.

I am ecstatic that he got to be a part of a Christopher Nolan film. However, I also understand that this is Harry's first movie.. and he isnt the central lead in the movie.. its an ensemble of actors. Harry deserved that role and Man oh Man he did such an amazing job in it. I was jumping on my seat..But for people who dont know who Harry is, to a moviegoer Christopher Nolan's name means a lot more than Harry's. Harry is a musician and he is an AMAZING one at that. While I respect Styles' own audience that he gained as a singer, it's unfortunate that many of his fans aren't paying any mind to the film he's starring in. It's a gritty World War II thriller by a brilliant filmmaker ... and all they care about is seeing him in it.
EDIT: I am not generalizing Styles' fans. However, many of them are going to see this film just because he's in it. If you don't believe that, just look at the other comments on this video. My issue with that is them not paying any mind to the events the film was based on, which is disrespectful.

I'm sure most fans can well appreciate the film as much as Harry but to be fair I would give them (the youngest ones) some slack here, Harry's truly an amazing guy and glad to see that he can inspire young people, and even older like Moi, even in a historical film
Response to everyone: I'm not "generalizing" Styles' fans. Many of them, however, are simply watching this film because he's in it. That you can't deny. The film looks spectacular and I think many people who are seeing it just because he's in it, and these people might not even know anything about Dunkirk. Hopefully you all better understand my point now.

That was so fucking irritating that that stupid host mixed Fionn with Cillian Murphy when he is the main lead of the film, and its sad that Harry Styles overshadows him just because he is 'more popular'. I feel bad for Fionn...I really hope people recognize his talent after watching the film. And these fucking teenage girls who don't even care anything about the film and that part of the history otherwise being there just because of Harry and screaming on top of their lungs makes me mad.
