In my mid 40’s now and was born in Liverpool, England, a stones throw from where Noel grew up in Manchester. I have called Canada my home for almost a decade now and got my Canadian citizenship a few years ago. I have to say, having seen Oasis 4 times live back in the day, It was emotional being there in my current home of Toronto, and just seeing this man walk out in his same unassuming aloof sort of way and then immediately strum his guitar the way he does. It’s so homey and comforting. The whole album is so good and I love it. His best solo album since his first. I’d say this one is my favourite as it is more personal to someone from the northwest of England. Council skies indeed.

Yeah that's what I like to see at live shows too. Unfortunately the security guys killed the vibe a bit by telling her and other people just enjoying the music to move out of the aisle back in front of their seats

Doesn't look like they've played that at all during their NA stops but maybe for the home crowd they'll add that. Regardless, it'll be an epic event no matter what at those bigger stadium venues!

Going Nowhere had a pedestrian crowd. Probably the best tune on the list. But hey, it's how some people learn the hidden gems, much like Liam now playing Roll It Over. Otherwise, great audience and atmosphere.
American crowds for NGHFB have been awful. They sit on their hands until they hear Wonderwall or Don't Look Back in Anger. They don't know the solo material at all.
Perhaps ppl just needed more time to listen to the record. The crowd in NYC seemed very into it. Also, they only played 1 city in Canada, so very die-hard group. It’s not an opportunity to slag off on Americans. The American journos have been - uncharacteristically - positive in reviewing both the record and gigs. They’ve never been into Oasis or the HFBirds.
@@MsFranzgNoel seems to do good in certain sections of the US. Chicago, NYC and Boston seem to be his best. Some places I wonder why he even bothered. Should have only done a small handful of gigs.
Both Garbage and NGHFB had set duration of 1h5m so was exactly equal amount of stage time but yeah a 90min set from each of them would've been more awesome especially with their extensive music catalogs.
There's a theory that Sally could be referring to a girl by the name of Melissa Lim that Noel met at an Oasis SanFran gig in 1994. She seems to have helped Noel through a rough time in his life where he was ready to quit the band but convinced him not to. Noel is smart enough to know that he could never recapture the magic and perfection of the recorded version of “Dead to the World.” That’s why I love Noel, because he knows what he can and can’t do. “Dead to the World” is an absolute masterpiece. He admitted that it’s a hard song to sing and couldn’t do it justice live. He jokingly said people could listen to it in their car after the show on their way home.
There’s 5 from the new album… and he said he wouldn’t play dead to the world live as he doesn’t want to ruin it. But yea would be cool if he played think of a number/ love is a rich man more. I reckon he’ll expand the setlist when he gets back to the UK
Yes to the other replies. As he has often does, he tests out his setlist in the first part of his tour and adjusts based on peoples’ responses. He’ll be touring this for at least the next year. And probably come around again to the US.
