He only has 100 songs this good. Maybe more.
hes recorded 500 songs hahah....deff half of those are great haha
He has no songs this good. He has a hundred great songs, but this is the best one.
@@jawbone78 naw, he has way better songs then this. This is like Dylan 101
@@SeanDaRyan that's because it's his greatest song. You're free to like others more (I do), but this is the best one.
@@jawbone78 id even go as far to say 70s Dylan is better then 60s Dylan
He received a Nobel Prize for his songwriting. You've just scratched the surface; Dylan's rabbit hole is deep.
im in like month 6 of this rabbit hole....and about $500 later in albums and books hahahah
@@SeanDaRyan im on week 2 and am seriously scared for my health already lol the journey has just begun
I'm on year 55 and have witnessed my own death an infinite number of times.
Darkness at the break of noon
Shadows even the silver spoon
The handmade blade, the child’s balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon
To understand you know too soon
There’s no sense in trying
Actually, he won the Nobel Peace Prize for poetry. 👍👍
It is inspiring to see a young man today react to this song the same way my generation did when it came out in 1964. It was an anthem for us that still resonates today. I found your channel when looking for reactions to the Righteous Brothers and am thoroughly enjoying your enthusiasm for all kinds of music.

I wrote a paragraph or two until I decided to cross it out and just say bite me. People like you have shown yourselves to be way below civilized discourse. Get a new gig, because you’re no good at this one.
@@frankiebowie6174 Don't worry brother, it's a fake profile, the chasm between us all is just manufactured so that we can't prosper. Don't care what somebody says on the internet, love your neighbor, make sure he prospers, so that you will prosper too ❤️
Sorry if this is full of errors, english is not my first language.
I love you brother, I seriously wish you the best ❤️
You nailed it young man He wrote this in the 60's....Hippies, anti-war movement, civil rights, black power, mass protests... Dylan was a voice of the generation.
Should listen to 'My back Pages by Dylan.
You are right on. I was living as a teen in Northern Virginia close to DC and so much was happening.
This song along with Blowin in the Wind was anthems for the 60's
He came out of the Beatnik Generation.
@@triciasomogyi5431 Folk music era. Kind of overlapped with the beatnik era of the late 50's. Dylan originally wanted to be a rock&roll star.
To me, Dylan has the ability to write lyrics where every fucking line has meaning. No fillers.
Best song writer ever in my opinion
Dylan is the most verbal in his songs. But is very modest and quietly speaks about himself, as if he is just a singer of songs. Very humble.
A lot of times I feel like I'm listening to a 'audio book', he writes so smoothly, it's just amazing.
Yeah Bob is good like that. Mind boggling actually.
Not just every line. Every syllable
Think about it... this song 56 years old. The lyrics, the emotions, and the sentiment haven't changed since 1964. It was, is, and will remain relevant - maybe forever.
Timeless music. Timeless lyrics. Chills every time.
We are all still human after all.
Wow... My Dad was almost 56 when he died and we played this song at his funeral. He was one of the biggest Dylan fans ever.
time less as we cant stop it
... relevant? ... maybe forever, forever and a day further, how should it not be so? .... we may age ... but truth does not !! ... and it never will !!! ... never, ... as long as TRUTH remains our preference over FALSEHOOD (however long that may be?) ... How long"? ... How long? ...
"It's only 3 minutes and he's saying so much... he's saying so much..."
Perfectly summarizes Bob Dylan's songs. He's a poet of the highest order.
Sam Cooke, upon hearing this song, told friends he felt compelled to write something with deeper meaning.
He did just that, with the writing of Change Gonna Come ✍
Love “A Change is Gonna Come”!
He hit it.
Change is one of my favorites. I cry every time
Bob Dylan was the voice & poet of my generation('60s). I wrote my dissertation in college on Bob Dylan's songs as poetry. Got an A. He made you feel & think didn't he?That is what good poetry does.
That’s awesome Ginger. Bob is really far out. He really has something to say.
@Matteo Concin Sorry didn't get back sooner. Alas that was Close to 50 years ago. I never saved anything till I had kids anyway.
@@gingergaia Bob is still big. I’m 46 years old, a young dude to be sure. I saw Bob 20 years ago in Ohio. My mom was more into Johnny Matthis and Bobby Darin🤪
In todays politically correct world you would have received a fail. So sad.
Ginger, kudos on doing a dissertation on Dylan! Where the hell does one begin?
You wanted to say it's like he's speaking about black lives matter....and you're right...he protested unlawful arrests of black people before it was "cool"
He really did. Hell, he basically “opened” for MLK. He played at the March on Washington on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial before MLK gave the famous “I have a dream” speech. To be fair, the archival video of it makes it seem like not too many people were that into it but the point is he was there not a spectator but as an official participant.
There are a plenty of vids on CZcams of the performance. The quality of the video is terrible. The quality of the message is beautiful.
He protested them back when they were real
@@loudmein6591 when who or what we’re real?
@@loudmein6591 umm because they stopped when exactly??? Last I checked it was still happening. Unless, of course, you are delusional.
@@adelevaught4739 Calling someone delusional without giving them any facts to prove them wrong is pretty... well.. delusional. More white men are killed by police than black men. If you’re referring to the recent stories in the news like George Floyd, it’s purely political. It’s sad that George Floyd died but it was obviously not at true fault of the officer. Floyd had lethal doses of meth and fentanyl in his system and he had COVID 19. He said he couldn’t breathe before the officers even touched him. The knee on the back of the neck to put down resisting criminal is often used in arrests. So yes, he protested civil rights back when it was an actual problem, not just a 1 out of a billion outlying event.
He was also only 23 when he wrote this and many of his classics!
Laugh my ass off when I hear young people discover 50+ year old music and realize it’s good!
Welcome to the Bob Dylan rabbit hole.
In the 60s it really did feel like the times were changing but change doesn’t happen that fast. There’s always a backlash. I think we’re in a new period where change is possible again.
I hope so, but thankfully my 66 year old body can still march!
from the early 60's. and we're still fighting.
You would love Hurricane by Bob Dylan!
A true story about an innocent African-American that was falsely accused for murder.
Dylan used his poetic songwriting ability to get this innocent man out of jail.
A lot of us would like you to react to that song!
You have gained a new follower sir!
“It’s Alright Ma” to hear him spit.
Fr???
I second this--- the bars will blow your mind..
@@NLTwon No doubt. It might take a few listens to get the message for whatever you think it means. Bars too fire to understand on the first listen .
Plz plz plz do Hurricane. True story about a black prize fighter being charged for a murder he didn’t commit. Amazing song and he used his platform amazingly
He was potentially guilty tho but hopefully not
@@shineonyoucrazydiamond824 yes but also highlighted many of the people (especially Chicago area) that were innocent and found guilty. Many put to death.

Lezra Martin who was the young man who worked to get Hurricane Carter released is a lawyer as is his wife in my city.
Bob Dylan is a pure poet and so before his time!! You need to listen to anything you come across of his. Pay special attention to his lyrics.💜💜💜
One man..
No drums
No bass
Like his on OUR couch!!!
This song hits me the same way today as it did when I first heard it years ago. Your reaction was lovely in its honesty :)
Dylan is primarily recognised as one of the greatest songwriters and poets of all time. He revolutionised pop and rock to become more meaningful. His influence within music is perhaps only comparable to The Beatles (who idolised him). I fully recommend reacting to 'Like A Rolling Stone' (his most celebrated song), 'Positively 4th Street', and 'Don't Think Twice, It's Alright'. Love your reactions and how you look into the lyrics. With Dylan, the lyrics are everything.
Positively 4th Street is still one of the best insult songs ever. My Back Pages is probably my favorite Dylan song though.
Yes, it's common to say that Dylan's lyrics are everything, but there have actually been albums put out by other people of all Dylan songs and they are all instrumental - no lyrics. Soooo.....
Dylan is a poet. He wrote powerfully about the craziness in the '60's and it is still relevant today. He is also a great storyteller. Try the songs Tangled Up In Blue or Positively 4th St.
Or "Jokerman" or "Brownsville Girl" or "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" or "Sweetheart Like You". He's amazing.
Positively 4th St.!
This song was an anthem of the Civil Rights battles of the 60's, as were many Dylan songs. Try "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll" and "Only a Pawn in The Game". This hit in 1964 during the passage of new Civil Rights laws and the early days of the disaster of the Vietnam War. Listen to his acoustic stuff first. Great reaction.
There was a time when a protest consisted of people gathering together to sing these songs of peace.
Imagine the impact it had on me, and all of my friends, when it was first released nearly 57 years ago. He, along with Joan Baez, Peter Seeger and the folk singers of the day fired up us in Australia, and all around the world. Made us think very differently about social, political and world issues. Much respect Bob.
been almost 60 years and his lyrics are as relevant today as they were then.
And thats why we love him.
Finally a reactor that listens to the lyrics. I hope your channel flourishes.
You are feeling the way we felt when this first came out. It became our anthem.
Written nearly 60 years ago, and more relevant today than ever. I've been blessed to have the music of Bob Dylan in my life since the early 60s. He's genius. So glad to see young people relating to his words.
Best reaction ive seen on youtube for sure! And from my favorite artist! I look for Bob dylan reactions daily and they are so rare! would love to see more reactions of Dylan!
Yes indeed.
For sure..for sure..
He is the known as the voice of his generation for a reason. His music will always be relevant.
This was an anthem of my generation.
Remember he has a catalogue of over 600 songs :) good luck
Dylan packs alot into each phrase! Timeless!
It's amazing to see somebody new discovering Bob Dylan for the first time.
Timeless lyrics.
His instrumentation is usually simple; it's the lyrics that matter. If you like protest songs, A Hard Rain is Going to Fall is fantastic. Patti Smith sang it when she accepted his Nobel Prize for Literature. I'd recommend starting with three albums: The Freewheeling Bob Dylan, Blonde on Blonde and Blood on the Tracks. There are so many great songs, but these would be a good introduction.
“Don’t criticise what you can’t understand” should be a way of life
The ONLY singer/songwriter to win the Nobel Prize in Literature...Bob Dylan. To think that he is playing two different melodies on guitar and harmonica...simultaneously. Mind blowing. ✌😎
He's unreal, right..
One man..
No drums..
No bass..
Like he's sitting right next you..
G.O.A.T..
brother, you ain't heard shit yet..
Bob has so many GREAT songs..
Indeed. For more about justice/injustice, I agree with those who recommended Hard Rain's Gonna Fall, Murder Most Foul, the Lonesome Death of Hattie Carrol. Plus everything else.
His songs are STILL relevant today!!! Hence why he's one of the song writing GOATs
What you gotta realise is when this was originally released in 1964 this kind of music was forbidden in a lot of American households and what Bob is saying to the parents is your kids need to be free to listen to what they want
Great reaction man!
I recommend Subterranean Homesick Blues.
Could be argued as one of the first hip hop songs. Ha. For real though.
@@dmans3617 Let's call it "probably the first that became widely popular".
Unreal..
One man..
No drums
No bass
Like he on our couch...!!!
My Back Pages is amazing. He's one of the most influential songwriters and poets ever.
I saw your reaction to Like a Rolling Stone and came looking for this one. LOVED the reaction!
Dylan was one of the greatest poets/lyricists of our time, and too many never give him a listen because of his voice.
They're more concerned about the sound than they are the message, so they miss it. Given a chance, they'd learn to appreciate both.
Might want to check out Dylan's Tangled Up In Blue. It tells a great story! ☺
greatest lyricist in history of music - period! Check out the following Dylan tunes: Tangled Up In Blue, Like A Rolling Stone, Shelter From The Storm, Visions of Johanna, Things Have Changed, It's All Over Now Baby Blue, Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues, Not Dark Yet & Positively 4th Street. BTW - this is the short list ;)
I just found this reaction! I think this is one of the most authentic reactions ever! Your raw emotion as you understood his powerful poetry was priceless! Bob Dylan is one of the greatest poets of all time!
Written in about ‘64 and is still relevant today. His songs are timeless.
And that ladies and gentlemen is how the torch is passed!
Indeed.
Seeing a young man like this appreciate and understand the lyrics makes my heart smile, and gives me hope.
Dylan blew into NYC in January of '61 full of folk songs he had picked up along the way. Played the folk venues of Greenwich Village with just his guitar, harmonica and a voice that sounded like a dog with its' leg caught in a barbed wire fence. "The original vagabond. The unwashed phenomenon." Yet by October he had a recording contract with Columbia. His hundreds of songs are poignant and powerful. He was among the first inducted into the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" has earned many Grammys been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, sang on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial when Martin Luther King gave his "I have a dream" speech and won the Nobel Prize for Literature 3 years ago. The man is an icon. React to all of him as you can. Thanks.
He did come to " the village" unwashed, then he found Fred Neil who cleaned up Bobs act, and put him on stage at the Cafe Wha ?.
Is Fred in the Hall of Fame ? He should be.
I feel this is an anthem to youth, don't ever get caught up in whatever older generations talk you down, they've been doing it for ages, your spirit, energy and drive is worth.
I was age 13 when I first heard this song. It still rings true today at my age of 69
Dylan has always been about the words. Some people can't stand his voice ÷+ I love it cause it's DYLAN! HE sang about the future back in the 60's. There is so much more...
God bless you young man. It was a different world for us in the sixties, but the music lives on forever. Bob Dylan was a master no doubt.
"Far between sundowns finish and midnight's broken toll, we ducked inside a doorway as thunder went crashing. While majestic bells of bolts struck shadows in the sound seeming to be the chimes of freedom flashing." Chimes of Freedom - Dylan of course.
I love it that you appreciate this so much - we all did to back in the day and now too Dylan is a master poet
Music royalty! Few real living legends still exist on this planet. He is one of them!
Bob Dylan is a prolific songwriter and poet
That's like Bob " tell it like is" Dylan
This is the way we reacted as young people when we first heard this.. you are a deep thinker
Bob Dylan is an icon for the reasons anyone honestly hearing him can truly understand. He is an American genius...so deep & forever current...raw diverse...so like the Beatles...he has a huge number of incredible songs for the listener to be swept away by. Thank you for boldly exploring the vastness of musical genres...feeling the emotions flowing from every strand of tangled root. God's love of music is knitted deeply within us all.
God Bless you & yours.
Maranatha!
Dylan is a word smith and his lyrics are deep and still relaxant today timeless
ONE of the GOAT's ... Knockin On Heaven's Door. If you haven't already!!
Chills. I tear up every time I hear this song. They used to play it where I worked and I would be in tears trying to ring up someone.
You sir, are my favorite Dylan reaction. You get it.
I love the fact you understand why Dylan was followed by so many. “Try Slow Train Coming”🎶 Your response to Bob demanded I subscribe.
It makes me so happy to see young people like you appreciate great thought provoking artists like this.
Keep on keepin' on. Bob Dylan.....hippest dude on the planet for over 60 years!
Dylan's songs are timeless. He is a musical and Lyracist Genius.
This dude literally put the foundations of rap music.. In the 60s..
Subterranean Homesick Blues!
'It's Alright Ma, I'm Only Bleeding', 'Blowin' in the Wind', 'Tambourine Man', 'Masters of War', 'Like A Rolling Stone'..get yourself into as much Bob Dylan as you can.
All of the years I have listened to this song, it was a hope, now the time has come and it's a reality. Just as it was then, it is now again. Thanks mate, keep up your passion. ♡
You really should react to It's alright Ma, I'm only bleeding. lyrically brilliant and it sounds like he was rapping in 1965. Dozens of great songs, this is the deepest rabbit hole of them all.
Oh man, it is fun to watch a young man see this for the first time. This song hit me straight to the heart and mind. I was hooked. I've been a Dylan fan since the first song.
That IS a hell of an opening line, isn't it?! Talk about TIMELESS writing!!!
Loved your reaction brother I felt the same way when I first heard it. I’m 70 and I’ve loved since I was a teenager. I’ve happily subscribed to your page and looking forward to more reaction. Hope your life is filled with peace love and happiness. Greetings from Scotland
I love to watch you listen to lyrics. Yes, it's the music, but sometimes it's the lyrics. And it rocks that you are getting what Dylan says his words flow from generation to generation. Listen to more Dylan!!
Dear God ~ thank you for Bob Dylan
Always great to see someone discover Bob, enjoy the journey. Next song Blowing in the Wind if you liked this message.
You could spend the rest of your life following Bob Dylan and his music. He has been a part of my life from the beginning. It is worth the time to research him. Listen to the changes in his voice and his words.
I'm nearer 70 than 60 & pleased to see a young person reacting to this song as I did way back when!
You can actually hear the lyrics. This was in the middle of the Vietnam War. There are not many people who can entertain you, by himself with an acoustic guitar and Harmonica, and blow you away.
Tangled up in blue, an amazing song 🎵
Dylan is the greatest & the most influential songwriter of all time ❤ im so happy to see your reaction ❤
I'm new in the channel and I'm so happy you're getting into Bob Dylan. Get ready, if you liked this song like this, you will have to get ready to handle other songs. Good luck with the one I consider the best artist of all times.
Dylan's lyrics are Nobel Prize-good.

Cool to see you really liking this. Dylan was the poet of his generation. I also recommend Sam Cooke: A Change is Gonna Come.
Lol.Bob is the best..
So simple but SO deep ..
Bob Dylan sometimes doesn't make sense at all but when ya get his lyrics they hit deep ♡
