As a UP alum, I'm disappointed on how this year's pep squad accepted their runner-up win. Regardless if they deserve the top spot or not, they should have kept their level of enthusiasm all throughout. That's basic sportsmanship. Kids today ...sigh.

NU deserved the title kahit madaming laglag. binase kasi yan lahat sa mga stunts and difficulties sa mga Hindi makatangap try to compare NU and UP sa lahat ng tumblings, stunts, toss and sa dance makikita nyo kung pano bumawi ang NU sa errors nila. tignan nyo po din Yung number of pyramids and toss nila. I'm not from nu I'm just a fan of uaap dati fan ako ng UP dahil grabe sila ang lakas ng mga toss at stunts pero parang ngayon napagiiwanan na. try nyo manood ng mga international cheer para makita nyo pinagkaiba ng cheer today..

I'M NOT In ANY SCHOOL BUT, RESPECT the WINNER....
Champion - N.U. pep squad, they insanely scored very high on all skill departments because of their consistent Level 4 and Level 5 difficulties, single base stunts, inverted pyramid, high and difficult tosses, proper executions of tumblings and dismounts. Their dancing was well executed and choreographed which I think one of their strong points as well. As per the errors unfortunately I noticed 2 major mistakes on their pyramids and 2 minors on their stunts so total of 8 points deductions.
1st runner-up - U.S.T. Salinggawi Dance Troupe, they were the one to beat with dancing the choreography and executions were superbly done, this is also their strongest point maybe because they were a dance troupe so kudos. As per their skills they need to be riskier, though they performed almost a flawless performance with 3 minor errors in stunts, they need to bank more on skills, most of their skills as far from what the champions did, but if they just got in tune more with the level of difficulty of the champions they could have been champions because of their almost perfect performance but it was too safe.
2nd runners-up - U.P. pep squad, They could have been the 1st runner up because they definitely are the contenders when it comes to the level of difficulty with skills specially with their stunts and pyramids, what an awesome heart shape inverted pyramid. They just really came very short when it comes to the dance department, their dancing were not as well choreographed compared to the top 2 schools, though they executed an almost perfect performance for me they incurred 2 point penalty for minor mistakes.

Considering the technicalities NU really deserve it. Judging the skills and dance is apart from deductions which means Score - Deductions = Final Score
few hours after the competition, i already accepted the result and can see now why NU won..after all, 400 points of the full criteria came from the cheerleading portion, which NU is clearly miles ahead of the pack..their level is already comparable to the ones competing in cheerleading worlds..even though some stunts/pyramids were not executed properly, they were penalized for it..3 is only the minimum i think and they did 4 or more. kung old criteria of cdc lng ang naging basis, then ust/up could have the edge but i digress. sana next year, mas maglevel up pa mga teams and maexecute nila routines nila excellently to avoid doubts on the minds ,esp., of the casual fans of cheerleading(dance)..
To know more about cheerleading, just watch the worlds competition..look for performances of top gun all stars (my fave), calfornia all stars and cheer extreme coed. i hope one day, ung mga teams dito sa philippines makarating sa level nila. cheers!

True, kaya kamot ulo ako Sa gusto mabalik ung old school uaap cheerdance na more on interpretative dancing or message driven routine e hindi ganyan sa competitive world cheerleading. Taga UP ako kaso 2000’s hilig ko na manood sa ESPN ng US cheerleading kaya medyo meh for me dati yang uaap cdc altho nakikinood lang ako for the school spirit😂. Super natuwa ako ng biglang nagkahardcore routine sa UAAP dahil sa NU so nanonood na ko uli every year😅.
Ito ba yung pinoprotesta nung coach ng UP Pepsquad? Lol Walang wala naman sa performance ng NU. Same choreo, stunts, tumbling, pyramid. Kung may nabago man tinweak lng ng kaunti masabi lang na unique. Hahaha! Hindi man lang ako kinilabutan. Kung punk rock ang music di sana binagay na rin sa theme na mga rakista. NU fresh lahat ng ideas and movements, theme bagay na bagay sa costume and music, breathtaking level ng difficulties ng tumblings and pyramids. Kung sumali sila last year 2016 malamang talo ulit sila. Lalampasuhin lang sila ng performance ng NU. Superb ang performance ng NU. Adamson nga di nagprotest kahit obvious na obvious naman na pang 1st runner up yung performance nila. I like UST din pero need to step up pa. Lahat ng cheerdancer na sumali diyan may puso sa ginagawa nila at para sa school nila wag angkinin ang puso UP Pepsquad di porket may heart shape yung closing remarks ng performance niyo. Lol

UP was not asking the judges to reverse the decision dito, clinaclarify lang nila on how the judges came up with such decision, since pinoint out naman ng UP point per point based on the rule book, which the judges failed to give proper reply.

According to them, UAAP CDC 2015 scoring "WAS" valid. National University Pep Squad deserve the Gold spot.
@@Krakengamingus7206 but they didn't give the most proper explanation with the computation and based on rule book, that was what UP's coach Lala was asking as they based their protest from the rule book, it's not just the failed stunts and pyramids that was question, it also includes the illegal stunts that NU did. The judges where not transparent, so was UP looking at the right rulebook or the jusdges have their own rule book different from what the teams are following.

BAKIT UP? should've been champs? : I'll also answer your question with a question WHY THE FUCK NOT? SERYOSO BANG 2ND RUNNER-UP LANG??? napaka heartbreaking nung moment na 2:25 - 2:30 tinawag yung UP as 2nd runner-up. They murdered the competition this year, Choice of music palang, STUNTS? bruh are we even gonna argue about this? Pinakamasakit na sigurong 5 seconds ng college life nila yun. Even supporters from other schools was stunned by this mockery. KEEP YOUR HEADS HIGH! UP! kayo ang tunay na panalo.
BAKIT UST? : from a random fan "Mas malinis pa sa kwarto ko yung performance ng UST tangina" hahaha also a superb performance without a doubt. But not as good as UP's. naging edge lang talaga sa UP is clean and crisp yung performance. pero UP padin bruh of course.

NU played the Math kaya nanalo ang NU rather than UP. Cheer elements palang panalo na ang NU, and equal ang dance part sa cheer part. While sa UP naman masyadong nagover power yung dance category nila kaysa sa Cheer category. TBH wala yung wow factor sa 2015 routine ng UP and ambaba ng level of difficulty ng cheer elements nila. Kung ang pinopoint out ng UP ay yung mga bagsak ng NU it's just 1/4 or 1/8 ng score ng pyramid score nila so hindi malaki ang effect. And their reactions, I know na you aim for the championship pero sa totoo lang tayo and teams should play the math.

Let's Accept the Fact na Ibang level ng difficulties,Routine at stunts ang pinakita ng N.U! oo swabe at malinis ang performance ng U.P given na yung pagiging remarkable na performance nila every year., U.P yan eh.hindi nauubusan ng Idea at gimik yan! Pero kung hindi naman nila na hit yung criteria na hinihingi ng cdc panel of judges eh hindi talaga mag cha-champ! Divah every year naman yata iba iba ang criteria sa judging. So hindi natin masisi ang mga judges kung N.U ang nakakuha ng mataas ng points bilang may deductions din sila dahil sa sablay nilang isang pyramid stunt! kung ang adamson nga na mas nag improve compare sa ibang schools eh oang 7 lang eh, kase nga hindi nila nahit yung sinasabing criteria o judging.Well matuto na lang siguro tumannggap ng pagkatalo pag may time and beside be thankful na rin kase still on the top 3 pa rin ang u.p not bad na rin kesa sa wala. malay natin makuha na nila next year!

Kadali lang naming ayusin yan eh. Pagpalitin ng routine ang dalawa school, UP at Nu ng dalawa araw then execute nila. UP routines ay sigurading basic lang sa NU pamihado lalo na ang pamosong heart. NU routines sa UP, God Bless and Good Luck. Ipagawa sa UP ang lahat ng pyramid lalo ang kinukuwestiyon nila. Wala lang.
