+TrekkerLLAP It isn't. This still is kinda hinted at though. Sans says that "going to the surface doesn't really appeal anymore, because even if we find a way out we'll just end up back down underground with no memory of it, right?". Keeping the dialogue vague enough like this means some effort is saved on Toby's part for all the different playthrough variations. The lines can take on a different context.

I’ve just realised how convenient it is that sans is a skeleton, you killed everyone in the underground and he comes at the end of a genocide run to judge you for your crimes, like death, who, also is seen as a skeleton.

Megalovania is made by Homestuck, not Toby Fox. It's not MegaLOVania it's most likely MegaloVania, Megalo and Vania.
(Pronounced as va-nia not vay-nia).
"Megalo" means "big, grand, or giant". "Vania" is a Spanish name for "truth".
Megalovania means "Grand Truth" which is way more badass than MegaLOVania.
It really fits his title of being the Judge of the Underground.

While the first version of Megalovania was named Dr. Andonut's Rage, Toby Fox still made that one and used it for his Earthbound Halloween hack. He also made the Homestuck Megalovania, which is the first time it was called Megalovania I believe.
And the definition fits for Homestuck as well, with it believed to be the theme of Vriska, who also acts like a Megalomaniac.
Also we now know the name is a combination of Megalovania and Transylvania, as it was inspired by the song Megalomania from Live a Live. However considering Toby already changed the name before, from Dr. Andonut's Rage, I'm gonna take a guess that he knew what he was doing with the LOVE thing.

This just comes to show that you don't always need a blasting guitar or that classic overused SNES lead we use in almost every Megalovania remix known to man... sometimes, you just need *this.* Perfectly encapsulates the dark and grim melody through Sans' eyes--er... sockets.
This is why this remix will always be my *favorite* Megalovania remix of *all time.*

No, really. The song and the tragically haunting visuals that go with it are gut wrenching. Sans is truly a character filled with grief and with the constant fear of waking up to see his brother laying dead in a pile of dust. Think Eddie Valiant from Roger Rabbit just a lot more depressing than it already is (seriously fan-artists get on it). The point is this song represents Sans' horrid fate and how after a genocide run he just wants to die and be with Papyrus again.

After everything you've done, I think it's safe to say that Sans has no qualms about killing you at this point. The problem is that he knows perfectly well that it isn't possible, and that any attempt would most likely result in his own demise. Really shows how hopeless Sans must have felt in his situation. Eventually, you would get through. Eventually, you would reload and kill him, and the world would be gone. The same thing had happened time and time again, and Sans knew that. But he stood against you and fell anyway, because you killed his brother. Heartbreaking stuff.
I like what you did at 2:45 and onward, the referencing of other melodies fit very well. Love it!
