Believe it or not, i know a friend of mine where his Uncle tried one of the auditions for Shark Tank. He has a successful business too, i think he made close to 600k, but still couldn't get on the "main stage" for Shark Tank.

Exactly, but at the same time the earlier blatant scams are so entertaining to watch. Today they should occasionally let pitches like this through just for the entertainment value. It’s too fun watching the sharks shred people apart like this.

They don’t need $5 million. Having four claims myself (Elsa/Mayo area), there probably is in fact Gold present on that property. But… very very highly unlikely that there would be enough fleck/flake/nuggets to keep them feed and fuelled (everything needs petrol/diesel). Great summer experiences though. Btw. Gold (placer) claims are literally free (stake unregistered land + registration fees ($100?)). But you could make enough to make it a fun (albeit short) Summer. They should just go up and do it with no outside investment.

Yeah, chemically gold is everywhere on earth. The issue is the COST associated to get them. In most cases the cost is not worth it.
There's even a store up in Dawson City where one could buy all the placer equipment which would probably require a $1000-2500 investment, plus camping gear, grub. Most of the annual guys up there got or lease their own heavy equipment. Selling the gold is another issue,
If I were in those guys shoes I'd be asking for 5 million and give the Dragons an 80% return.

They weren't, and the guy from the planet Zootron has a small construction type business (if I remember correctly) which had terrible reviews online due to them (him &his dad) not showing up on time, not delivering what they promised, etc

The Dragons had a few teachings in this one, but they didn't go quite far enough, instead making fools out of the pair. This offer is a bad investment, even if they were experienced miners. The venture is likely a lousy life commitment for the participants that would damage families.
You need three whole binders full of geology surveys, construction plans, reports, and information to get a deal like that after leadership has spent a couple years working on it.
