Which of these underrated picks was your favorite? Let us know!
This channel never disappoints. This is practically stationery haven.
I'm obsessed with this channel. I love fancy art/stationery/office/school supplies. And this channel always showcases the best and fanciest supplies.
💜🐰🐰💜
I already had one Doughnut Macaroon backpack and I couldn't resist getting the newer mini one - I love it. 🥰
The SEPA case is to die for. It's so perfect. Here in my school, we always have to carry transparent pen cases during exams and that detachable pen case seems very helpful.
I have a Doughnut Macaron backpack in a beautiful brick colour, but unfortunately it seems to not distribute weight very well compared to my other backpacks. Good for light loads, though.
You guys finally got me...just spent over $60 on my first order, lol. I'm returning to college after a nine year hiatus and I want to return back in style (erm, at least with my supplies 😅). I got the yellow King Jim Tefrenu binder with no middle rings, because I love that I won't have to remove the paper to write on the backside of a sheet. I also got the Maruman Session binder, since it too releases paper easily and I want to see which one I like more (or I might enjoy them equally!). For the B5 paper for these binders, I'm going with the Campus Shikkari dotted rule paper, though admittedly I found it cheaper on another website (not Amazon) and bought it there instead, cleaning them out of the last four packs they had 😂. That website also had the cutest coffee boba standing pencil case, so I added that as well.
For pencils, I was too curious about all of the choices, so I got three. The FitCurve, since it boasts about being good for heavy-handed writers (such as myself) and is more balanced, the Pilot Opt Shaker, because I'd like to see how shaking my lead works out verses clicking and how loud it will be, and the Uni Alpha Gel Kuru Toga, because I'm fascinated about the idea of the lead twisting to maintain uniformity.
I added only one pen, just for times I need to sign something at school, and that was the Zebra Sarasa Dry Gel Pen in black ink.
For accessories, I got the recommended small erasers to go with the FitCurve, the black Tombow Mono Dust Cleaner eraser that clumps the eraser shavings (I've also always wondered if you can use the whole bar, or if the part that sticks out from the label is the only usable part), the Ain Stein 0.5 lead sticks, and lastly, a pack of the Iconic Index Highlighter Sticky Notes in the shade of Winter.
Getting started is always the most expensive part, but now that I have the binders and pens, all I have to do is maintain refills, of which I'm really happy you guys offer and even go through the effort of linking compatible products together. I loved the recommended articles, too (the one for the Uni pens is what helped me choose mine). Really great web design and selection of products, I know I'll be shopping with Jet Pens for years to come 😊
Everyone I have ever met who likes aesthetic bags/non-American stationery talks about Doughnut backpacks. Several people told me to get a Macaroon when I first started thinking about college. I don't know how they can be less known when they're considered collector's items.
I've just spent the last 24 hours hunting down a bag to fight against the Doughnut Macaroon to use for college. I'm now torn between it and a brand called Herschel and their Little America backpacks. I think Herschel has my vote with its plethora of features, but there are some great designs with the Macaroons.
I've done fountain pen ink swatches in both Kleid and Monokaki notebooks but found their paper to be less than ideal for fountain pen inks, especially when there are better performing papers/notebooks for lower prices out there. I actually ended up giving away both notebooks to friends who did not use fountain pens because they look great and I'm sure works well for their purposes.
What are your favourite notebooks or paper brands for fountain pens if neither of those worked? I'm starting with fountain pens and any recommendations would be awesome :) thanks!
@@juliaourofinoscalia3468 That's a great question! My go-to favorite paper to use is still Tomoe River, though I understand that it has changed hands a couple of times and the new Sanzen Tomoe River is not quite the same as the original paper, it's still pretty good. It's very thin but shows off shading and sheening very well.
Aside from that, other papers/notebooks I would recommend are MD/Midori (if you're okay with cream colored paper), Maruman (which has a few lines such as Mnemosyne, Septcouleur and Spiral Note, I recommend checking them out first to see which format works for you). Even Muji actually has some notebooks/papers that are pretty good for fountain pens! Also, Kokuyo paper is pretty good as well.
(I know a lot of people recommend Clairefontaine and Rhodia but I personally find them to be underwhelming with regards to what I look for in a fountain pen-friendly notebook... I am probably in the minority though)
Doughnut makes great bags. I have one of their messenger style bags and I absolutely love it, especially for travel. The Kamio SEPA pen case will go on my wishlist. It seems to be a good option for folks trying to avoid unnecessary plastics. The removable mesh pocket is a nice feature.
I would really like to see a comparison of academic planners.
Ahh everything is so beautiful. I love the clear cases and the vintage style notebooks with cream paper!
I love my sepa case (the pikachu one) and sunstar bag in bag
Omg i love these storage videos too!!
Love all of your products!
I’m in love with all of these products
Really neat way to highlight the overlooked things.
Love covering the underrated brands! But should also cover the underrated sizes. I have a B6 notebook holder with a Luddite planner, a Kleid notebook, and a clear shitajiki. The B series size ratio offers a much better ratio than the A sizes, making B6 much more comfortable to work with than an A5.
I have a couple of the King Jim Tefrenu: I love the paper size but don't always enjoy lining up all 28 holes. And here I don't have to!
That first pencase looks amazing! I like the versatility with being able to pull out a smaller case. I already have a list saved on the website, just waiting for payday.
I love my Nomadic's PS-01 pen case.
I love my Mitte but I put too much stuff in it and then it doesn't look as nice *lol*
i like this stationarey very much
I love my Doughnut Macaroon mini backpack!
I'm curious what makes the Macaroon backpack so appealing for y'all. Might make another good video. I wishlisted the SEPA case after, though, that's a LOT more pens than my current little case. And I like that it's BRIGHT, so I don't lose it!
What fountain pen and ink does the writer-san use for the writing sample on the paper?
Nice! 😁
Something nobody talks about but probably should is Irlen friendly stationary. As someone who has Irlen syndrome, it's difficult to find stuff that works for me and allows me to write/read for extended periods of time. So it would be nice to have a video that shows different options for stationary that someone like me could use to get into stationary.
Very nice.
Had the bag in bag for a week in my cart... this must be a sign.
That tiny Monokaki notebook looked like it showed the fountain pen ink's shading properties a little?
Bag in Bag! Bag in Bag!
I bought a Doughnut Macaroon backpack because it was cute lmao. Only downside is that it has real leather on it, so you can't throw it in the washing machine.
😊
