I'm an "old" music journalist and lifelong Hip-Hop fan. Mavi inspires me even as I got mad years on him. I was rocking his album in Washington, D.C. the same day Rep. Elijah Cummings died. Emotions of the day were high and his music hit me in the soul. I was walking on the National Mall, tears coming down my face by the end of the record. A powerful young man right there.
