I took one of the so-called "Chinatown Buses" from Washington, D.C., to New York City and this is the result.

For a chinatown bus, I expected buses to be manufactured in china. Companies such as Yutong, Higer, BYD etc....

The Chinatown bus lines just get second hand buses from other bus lines in the US. Its cheaper to get used Van Hool, MCI and Prevost coach buses than to get Chinese coach buses that may not even meet US Department of Transportation regulations.

I know it's shit, but I will have to try this out as I'm in America next summer and for summer job and I need to save as much money as possible! Is it a direct bus? And how long is it from DC to NYC?

It's about 3-4 hours with no traffic, and these buses are direct.
