The standard of Badminton in Kerala has come down so much These guys would hardly take 15 points from older players like jaseel markose sanave rupesh diju no variety in game just plain game and some high decibel shouting showoff in the name of pumping self very meagre medium standard of badminton
I have played against Jaseel P ismayeel. He was very good. . Saneva & Roopesh are also legends. Does not meen this new gen is bad, new gen guys, different game style, change is good
I myself was a state no 2 when I was playing subjuniors Modern badminton is quick that doesn't mean using good strokes and having a better sweet spot timing is invalid most of these headless coaches are giving this children that push Most of these childrens timing is under par looking at how old players used to play, sweetspot timing is very important in top level badminton Variety in attack and disguise on overhead strokes are totally missing in this generation maybe coaches are afraid to induct such things as they believe speed is the only thing required These children I can tell you when they play nationals the maximum they will be reaching is quarters and that to only one or two that much standard difference is there now in Kerala and national level players Badminton needs good imagination anticipation and players should use their brains to tone their gamestyle and that is totally missing now Kerala was Indias doubles top state for around 20 years and I can clearly say that looking at today's Keralas new players they will find it difficult at national level unless they change their game style
I agree with you. I am seeing this general pattern of badminton style game that has gone down. Watch the 2001 AE MD Finals vs what you see now. It's all attack.
@@jayamuralimv1976 I played against Jaseel back in 1992 (Farook college Vs Malabar Christian college in 1992.) and played against so many greats. Last year played once against Prithvi Roy in a tournament. Compared to olden days, todays game is very fast, you get less time to react. Hence, many times, you do not have time to play deceptions. may be that is creating a perception that games earlier days were more intense. Having said that , I have huge respect for players like Jaseel, Saneva and all. But if you compare apples to apples, I would say, Rankireddy, chirag shetty, Lakshya sen, Kiran george Prithvi roy all are better the older generation.
