GM needs their ass beat for killing Pontiac and letting the Trans Am die like it did. Country that invented Rock and Metal should STILL make the Trans Am and a GTO. Dead.. all to save the face and ego of the Corvette. If you're a true Pontiac person you know what I say is 100% true.
There's an article from motor trend or car and driver from 1979 that crowned the Trams Am as the best handling car in a comparison with the Camaro, Corvette, Capri and a few others. The Corvette even managed to blow the engine under repeated extreme cornering from lack of oiling to half the engine lmaooo. They said the Corvette was too finicky and didn't inspire confidence while the Trans Am just corned perfectly even with amateur drivers
A really good chassis, engine and transmission combo from back in the 1990s. The F car should have been an easy to sell car. The car sold poorly though for pretty obvious reasons though. Hindsight is indeed 20/20. That styling. Pontiac's once great looking cars had turned into this over-the-top too many scoops, spoilers and silliness by the 1990s and by 2002 the sales figures were too weak to justify expensive changes to meet new mandated safety standards. This was the sporty version of the AZTEC. I remember looking at these cars and just cringing. You just knew they were gonna be a tough sell. GM went too plain and homely with it's 4th gen Camaro and the folks at Pontiac attempted to avoid that same look by tacking on too much extra non-sense. Neither car lived up to the promise of what was actually a pretty fast, great handling package. Proof that even the best performer won't sell if the styling isn't appealing.
We can most agree the non SS 4th gen Camaro looked like a potato wedge but still would rather have that than any mustang in that gen era. The Trans am had to many scoops, curves and unnecessary things put on it? I need to think for a bit and come back and make another reply later so the roast is the most penetrating and impactful. That comment is absolutely ignorant, you are delusional sir. ( sorry for assuming your proper pronoun ) 😅
@@unlizted Yeah, OK Chad! 4th gen styling was lumpy and weak enough but by the time Pontiac attempting to fix it with to many scoops and spoilers it was even worse. I'll admit this though. Appearance and what you like is subjective opinion. if you like that look? Who am I to suggest you're wrong. I'm thinking you're taste in appearance is so very questionable that the attempted insult you chose throw my way is telling. I bet your the guy who' finds a man in women's underwear very attractive. I find that more than just a little creepy but, political correctness requires me to applaud you for that. Out-of-the-closet honesty .......Good for you!
@@stevejewell9263 Nice try..But ultimately A failed attempt at humor while trying to save your dignity.. Maybe you should tell someone who cares..like your husband.
I remember this commercial when I was a teenager, really made me want one of those!
Trans Ams & rock & roll naturally go together.
They sure do!
That's cool, I miss Pontiac and their Camaro and Corvette Killer, I'll never forget when I drove a 00 WS6 with a 6 Spd...thst thing was amazing
Bad ass car…GM should have kept the Firebird and shit canned the Camaro
Along with the Aztek and Vibe!
Very cool, well done!
I love these
Certified Badass
Great Job!!!!
