* attempts to restore Ayyubid legacy *
* proceeds to let the Ayyubid line die out *
They were weak. We'll build a stronger dynasty
this is why i dont disinherit if I have a famous starting dynasty
@@mackycabangon8945 i had a game as inca where the Hanan dynasty (the one with Pachacuti and Tupac Yupanqui) until the end of the game, feels good man
@@the_yobo same but with Ardabil-> Persia, kept the safavids the whole time
@@mackycabangon8945 its one lf the best feelings
14:00 Mamluks: "I have heard of your heir problems. Would you like a 14 point heir?"
Two heirs of the Ayyubids were disinherited earlier, so why not give the throne to a circassian dude
This reminds me of my Hisn Kayfa Run where the Ottomans basically took every province I needed and I had to take back around 400% warscore from them while being outnumbered almost 1:3. Very fun times indeed
kinda sad that you let ayubid dynasty die out
Kind of missed the whole point of the run
brother when you get a 4/4/0 just focus on MIL and brace through it like a champ
4/4/0 is below average though
@@jameslevy9964 With the focus on military points it's a 3/3/2, which while below average is nothing to throw away. Plus you can easily find cheap advisors to bump it up to average or above.
@@specil-k I understand where you're getting at but when you're attempting to expand and grow like Quarbit is it's a great help to have a better leader. Don't see why you'd hold your country for a potentially worse ruler
@@jameslevy9964 Yea maybe its slightly below average but he should have kept it, I would have kept a 4/4/0 if it meant not risking the loss of my dynasty
@@mackycabangon8945 The loss of dynasty really isn’t an issue for The Muslim denomination
why dont you release syria from that one province you own and then ask ottobros to return cores using your favours, seems like free land to me
I think that province loses its core over time. So maybe by the time Quarbit got the province, he couldn't release syria
@@nituldeshptha99 Syria will never lose cores in syrian culture provinces
@@nituldeshptha99 countries with their primary cultures never lose cores by time. Exception - special events like Greek nationalism or Ring of Normandy
Big brain idea. Might do that
I've noticed that when you do that, you're at huge risk to lose your alliance. Even at 100 trust, they still consider that land to be "vital interest" thus causing massive opinion malice. So it depends on how much you need to take back.
They may have changed it in 1.33 I haven't tried it since then
Good luck sir! Thanks for all your content. Your old guide videos helped me start out in eu4 so I’m really grateful for all your work!
Fantastic gameplay and editing, and impressive hisn kayfa-ing. I have yet to attempt saladins legacy, but this makes me interested in making an attempt!
I remember Zlewikk doing this years ago, so glad you have done it too, such a fun achievement to watch
Arumba did this achievement. Idk if you know him but his videos show every minute of progress; as well as explaining a lot of things to his viewers from stream chat. Naturally, the series ends up being very long. But I've learned loads from him
Hissin' Kayfa, a country just made out of cool snakes
7:52 I guess he returned from the mountains😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
There’s no need to exploit development before devving for institution. Because the amount of institution per click is directly related to development, starting the dev process can be more expensive if the province is lower. I think you hinted at that when you mentioned 6 is a bad number. The wiki says The best starting dev before institution is 16 iirc. So starting at 14 is better than exploiting first.
in some cases you get to like 99% and then have to sink another dev. If you exploit at the beginning, then you would arrive at the same total dev-1, because you don't have to sink that extra on the end. Because the cost of devving is so much more at the end of the process, it's sometimes worth going down by 1. So even tho the number of dev clicks is the same, the amount being spent is less.
you let the ottomans expand too much
Trust me bro, we're chilling
good vid. nice story. send them all to the hills
A really nice play with the Mamluk war. Pretty big brain
Great video 👍🏼
I think Bregenz is really strong, because of Budgetmonks latest achievement.
This was pretty cool, definitely one of the achievements I would like to do soon. Have you considered a True Heir of Timur vid?
I actually got the Saladin achivement before the byzantium one, this was before I got the favour DLC so I just used the ottomans to bulldoze everyone
If they haven't fixed it, you can actually reroll heirs on a request heir offer. It does involve save scumming though, so if you don't want to do that kind of thing you don't have to.
Hisn Kayfa is very fun. With the Ottomans as an ally and some starting luck you can finish this achievement before 1500. The hardest part is getting the land around your start, after that you can trucebreak the Mamluks until you win, as they own 75% of the land you need.
iirc return core versus cede province in a peace deal is different. One gives less liberty desire from "Events, Province Defections" and one just does nothing and raises total dev vs. overlord.
21:36 sometimes i wish that some eu4 mission trees allowed you to change entire trade nodes if you do enough. If they give tunis more flavoring they could get a mission to turn tunisia into an end node or something. idk it just gets super boring to have the same trade nodes that out-compete pretty much every other one in my opinion. or maybe have the Morrocan and Sevillan node flow into tunisia and then tunisia only flows into genoa. At least something similar to these with multiple nations so that Britain and similar nations can't just sleepwalk its way through a game as a player.
When is the second video coming!? This was a great run bro
uhhhh yes
I'm sure you have heard this before, but you are like the Sseth of eu4, and I am 100% here for it.
This run can also move easily into This is Persia
Thank you for playing the game longer than an hour and then posting a 20 min video about it like some other streamers.
You should next plays as EYE-raq.
Then maybe form EYE-ran (Persia) as Ajam.
After that form EYE-talia as Sicily.
change for future updates (mb I'm bad so could be too broken) - if you fully annex a country you should just get all their money as well
a bit too broken. A lot of smaller countries amass thousands of ducats because they have nothing left to spend them on. You might get like 10k from annexing the knights.
You should've blocked Ottos expansion in Mams land. You are gonna have a bad time now.
My favourite nation probably, enjoyable region, isn't easy and very good ideas.
If an ally is unlikely to join the war (because of the various reasons) the best way you know they won't join is if they broke the alliance with the nation that has been declared on. So when AQ was attacked, Ottomans actually broke their alliance because they dishonored the call to arms.
trading favors for trust in order to keep your ally is interesting, definitely would help in my latest save
And the only province qq didn t reoccupied is Rahba, the green lined one.
I think we need more flavor for hisn kayfa and formable ayyubid.
22:20
while we are at it, a request to buy provinces of off somebody
ive never seen the hre get more than 3 reforms as ai
Nice
ive noticed the game lies in peace deals with AE if ur a native american tribe... i went around taking tons of colonial nation provinces for ages with seemingly not much ae.. then suddenly Spain & Portugal coalitioned me both with 100+ ae... but it doesnt say it in the peace deals.. just cos they have one or two provinces nearby before they become colonies
Already done B-)
your voice like bittersteel and you are like bittersteel eu4 version
idk he doesn't seem to think so
ive been playing a custom nation with mostly economic national ideas.. i went admin ideas, trade ideas, plutocracy ideas.. seems to be going pretty well... im pretty wealthy.. if u cant win wars due to being good at fighting then just pay to win
What mod adds the cool pictures for events
"Hisn Kayfat"
I also have subject with better rulers and generals than me like in 11:50, IDK why I can't get a 3 star general at 70 AT while my subjects get a 6/5/5/2.
17:43 I play with favors, but never get these pop-ups, does someone know why? I never get favors for helping in my allies wars…
Oh.. ok.
Hisn Kayfa has a pretty cool map colour, flag and a cool name.. might be worth playing just for that.. shame they dont have a good mission tree ( you would think if they used to own all of egypt and middle east as a large empire there would be a large mission tree to take it all back???!!!
When is dinner served?
Gotta be the first time I heard someone pronounce the Mamluks as 'Mamlaks'
gotta be the first comment mentioning it
@@QuarbitGaming I'm not complaining or anything, it just kinda caught my attention, that's all :)
play verona
you know when an ally calls you into a war and then you do most of the fighting & sieging and then they give you nothing.. does it make them hate you if you peace out early and take what you want?
You get -10 trust from them
@@viniciusyugulis7278 ah ok... i just find it annoying that i do all the work and they take all the land youd think theyd be more generous if the only reason they won was me
Yes I hate it too
In my Mamluks game Austria kept calling me into their stupid wars against half of Europe, the league war was the crossing line for me and I just broke with them bf it fired
That burgundy-liege war involving literally all of Western Europe bf the 1500 was just stupid and I was the only reason Austria, Liege and buddys won
Re: sell me your institutions, I believe that much like how the AI does not want to buy institutions if it would put them into debt, they do not consider offering institutions to countries that would go into debt, even if it's by just a little bit. I agree that this is very big dumb, but may provide a way to increase your chances of getting them to sell to you in future runs.
Can you play eu4 extended timeline where you play as the byzantines during the rise of islam ? Where you defend against the rashiduns and Sassanids while you try to form the Roman empire? I don't know... Maybe this is too hard for you, i don't think you can do it to be honest. 😏
Why are Rassids present, but Ayyubids are not ?!
Ardabil is strongest Eu4 Opm.
Oda is great but it's not a "doom music" battle opm at the start
With 100 myst at the start, and good national mp ideas ardabil is set to kick butts with a lot of morale and men. If you get alliance with QQ life is easy as pie.
can you make persia as hisn kayfa?
I think so, Kurdish is in the Iranian group, he just doesn't have all the provinces.
why does he always wait to take techs? is it because he wants to save the mp for something else or is there like some other mechanic i’m not aware of
It costs significantly more mana if you havent embraced the Institution.
as much as I could remember, if you wait then things related to that tech line cost less or something..
I judge the technologies based on their immediate utility. Mil techs are always important to take ASAP unless the cost is ridiculous, idea group techs are also good. I try to maintain ahead of time status for the innovativeness, but I don't take techs if they're like 30% more expensive. Especially when I'm ahead of time (unless it's a mil tech that grants a necessary advantage during a war). If you're wondering about some of the ones I take a while to take, it's because I'm filling idea groups, which give a discount on tech of the same category. So if I fill a group, I'm saving on those techs significantly. Hope this helps.
@@QuarbitGaming it does thanks a lot i had no idea filling ideas reduced tech costs other than like innovative. i always would prioritize techs over ideas in order to stay ahead of time. what’s the best way to keep the costs down? i noticed (idk if it was this video) a dip tech was only 300mp
@@gcghhc keeping on top of your ideas is important because tech cost increases over time. Filling out your groups is the easiest way, but there are some ideas, missions, and religions that can help. Full legalism Sunni is -10%, while having loyal and influential dhimmi also decreases the cost. Waiting for your neighbours to take tech also decreases the cost for you, which is why my tech cost was so low for that Diplo after I finished the idea group. I would also advise against taking techs which you do not have the institution for, unless the increase is negligible and it's an important tech. Devving an institution is almost always a better option unless it spawned really close or you have easy means of acquiring it. I usually only take tech when I would lose innovativeness.
The strongest OPM is Navarra, but it is nit hidden.
Its ridiculous even that they put nation for the lols as if it was a thing
I dont religious schools is that part of a dlc?
I am Kurd and I wanted to learn this game with a Kurdish state why doesnt this damn game take place in the 1200s :( so I could play with ayyubid sultane
Nah bro it’s Shimazu.
we all know ulm is the true strongest OPM
Smh u forgot about ulm
Im having second thoughts about a HK playthrough haha this looks miserable
Please don’t disrespect Ulm again
1.33 battles are really bad. It doesn't require the player to plan at all. (outnumbered 5 to 1 and your reinforcing army is 4 provinces away? NO PROBLEM!) It's just annoying. Mistakes can't be capitalized on as easily. in mp, no matter how good the weaker player is, numbers reigns supreme.
Ragusa is easily the strongest OPM are u mad
coping, crying, malding, seething, in shambles, life altered irreversibly
