I love this video and the info provided, as it is such an honest reality check. I’ve considered beginning my own channel, but not for purposes of earning money (though that would be excellent!), but I’ve heard so many talk about the time commitment and need for focus. I’m not sure I’m cut out for it, honestly. That said, I love so many channels and knowing viewership matters, I’ve been known to just set videos on play and comment as a way of supporting my faves. I even let the commercials play, as I understand that’s also a source of income. Given the scope of the commitment, WHY do you do it? You call it passive income, so it’s not essential. Is it actually…fun? I’m curious enough that I’d like to learn and maybe give it a try, but not at all convinced I’d be able to maintain.

I like being a Content Creator but we make very little money with it. Compared to other channels that completely rely on that income. We don’t. We use other sources. Our other podcast earns the most money and has over 100,000 subs. We do affiliate marketing, Patreon, and direct sales. All of which is a full time business. Sometimes I think it’s not worth it. But because I enjoy it. I still keep going. - Scott
