    Thanks for uploading this! No disrespect to commentary channels, but it’s nice to just see how gameplay looks without someone speaking over it (given that most watching probably can’t play the test anyway)

      No disrespect to those channels either, but I would've searched gameplay-only myself if I wasn't lucky enough to access this testing. I'm glad you could use this as a decent reference for the time being.

      @Hamstir4 The First Hades Game I played it during quarantine which was by the end of 2020 and I was really getting into Greek Mythology at that time. Plus I was watching one of my favorite streamers on Twitch so I was curious and so I downloaded at a pretty good price at the Nintendo EShop an to this day it’s a fan favorite game of mine.

    • @Hamstir4

      My first game into Supergiants too. I adored the entire package Hades offered, so it was easy to spend many hours. My knowledge is rather average when it comes to Greek myths, but I was happy to see Orpheus and Eurydice’s follow-up from their tragedy. And we’re seeing something similar with Arachne. I’m curious what other “NPCs” Supergiants have chosen to write for for the sequel. I speculate perhaps Atlas or Echo if we have the opportunity to venture beyond the Underworld. If not, Prometheus would be an interesting weight like Patroclus brought in the first game. Tho I fail to see how Prometheus could get a happy ending, hmm. Anyways, I’m always pleased to hear some Supergiant love.

      @@chrisbrown-lx7qz I have a friend also waiting for the Switch. It may be because they don’t have a good computer or other preference reasons. Also playing mouse and keyboard may feel weird to others ^
      Edit: oh I misread lol. Well they may just have the Switch only, but I see your point ^

      I'd love to share all about my thoughts, but I'm limited from here. But I'll give a brief summary.
      Gameplay:
      It looks very much like the first Hades game because it still is a Hades game. It is still a game about being a god and feeling like a god. There’s satisfying combos you can pull off, perhaps I could find a clip to show off later.
      Changes- This game emphasizes mana and channeling bigger attacks, which is different from Hades 1. I think this was a good choice to the game, but in case people aren’t comfortable with the new playstyle, I surmise you could still build for normal attacks so you could get close and personal akin to Hades 1, if that’s your desired gameplay.
      Also, you would not find it in my first 3 runs because I discovered it late, but there’s a sprint mechanic. Rather than having access to double dashing, you can sprint after holding the dash. (This would’ve made dodging easier for me). I figure it’s hard to “feel” the difference between Hades 1 and Hades 2, and hope this helps bring better perspective to the gameplay.

      Music:
      Darren Korb does not miss a beat when it comes to scoring Hades 2. Just like the first game, the music ramps up based on the gameplay, especially when you encounter minibosses or Hecate. It’s easy to get immersed into the game thanks to the timing of the music.
      Story:
      I may post more thoughts, but for now, the drama is pretty dang good. The stakes are much higher storywise. I know most people care about gameplay, but for those into the story, the game has a darker edge. I would almost say bleak, except Hecate serves as your biggest hype man, along with others, thus there exists glimmers of hope and anticipation throughout the game.

    • @Hamstir4
      @Hamstir4  Před 2 měsíci +4

      I gotchu buddy.
      Hades 2 has different gameplay imo. It revolves more channeling for powerful attacks (very much like a witch), but you could also hack and slash akin to Hades 1 if that's your desired gameplay. Familiar gods make a reappearance as boons (Zeus, Aphrodite), but even they may function differently than what we were accustomed to. Despite these differences, the sequel has the fundamentals of a Hades game, let alone a Supergiant game if you enjoy the music and characters. I hope you are enlightened, if not, whoopsies.

    • @Hamstir4
      @Hamstir4  Před 2 měsíci +4

      One more thing, kind of important. There does not look like a double dash like Zagreus can do, but rather a sprint following your dash. It takes getting used to, but essentially, the dash boons we would expect is now a sprint boon, so fathom that as you will.

    • @Hamstir4
      @Hamstir4  Před měsícem +2

      whistle* My short answer is probably not. And I say probably to be nice.
      I used to run the first game on integrated graphics and managed. However, I felt Supergiants could've optimized their game better, as my Hades was feeling cumbersome to my older laptop. Far as I know, Hades 2 would be more demanding than Hades 1 in terms of graphics and gameplay mechanics are expanding. If you're going down this route, I'd expect very low frame rates on your playthrough this route mi amigo.
      I hope someone with better experience can explain to you better than me.
