Jelinsky was arguably a bad first boot I know he was deserved... but he ruined his tribe. I feel that Survivor casting keeps getting screwed by either quitters or wackos. So they make the perfect challenge in second episode for him, you can tell "purple" had almost zero chance to win that challenge but did with Jelinsky. I would like these people to not be casted.
I'd put Fairplay up as a robbed first boot. Robbed of his pain meds, robbed of having an unbroken jaw, robbed of having an idol at the first tribal. Man had it rough...

Love the Reebok Conspiracy with the Souna vote, and that was a fun behind-the-scenes story I'd actually never heard before, though it should also be noted that there were probably other factors to her boot. I believe I've heard Burnett's book says Rich was probably going to be the first vote until he came out at TC (which never made the episode), and that probably had an effect on things as well.

idk if she's quite as robbed as some of the people up here but imo morriah from 43 at least deserves an honorable mention. gabler, elie and jeanine's main target was safe, and they felt like they couldn't gun for owen or sami because they were blatantly the two strongest people on the tribe, so the vote kind of landed on morriah by default. even the excuse they used, that she was weak, didn't really hold up since she did very solidly in the first challenge
Elie and Janine were not targeting Gabler, they could’ve easily voted him out if they wanted to since he didn’t use the idol. Elie was working with Gabler and thought she could manipulate him, which worked until Sami ratted her out.
Most of them were voted out early for a reason, It'd be really tought to put together a strong enough cast. A season of pre-mergers would a better option imo.

There's a Survivor rumor that in Palau, Caryn chose Willard over Jonathan because Caryn figured Koror would be more likely to vote out Willard first than herself first if they lost an immunity challenge. Basically, she thought that adding Jonathan to the tribe would have made her own target bigger. Regardless if this is true or not, it's still unfortunate for Jonathan. :(
Gotta mention Fairplay. His elimination had nothing to do with pregame alliances. I know people are gonna say he basically quit, but when you look at it, it was sort of dumb. He got his head slammed into a boat after oral surgery and had to go into the game without his pain killers. If he didn't get into that accident before the game or if Yau Man doesn't slam his head into the boat to try and get the idol, he likely makes the merge. Also, sort of dumb they wouldn't let him receive pain killers, but were okay with James using nicotine patches.
I think the issue with Fairplay is somewhat simple though: he just shouldn't have been there. There was no game element or other player element that "robbed" him. Just the man was coming off a medical issue that should have had someone else there. No pain killers after getting you face smashed? This is insane. I did not know about the details behind Sonya's stumble!! Oh man, I feel even more sad about her boot now. I always thought she seemed so wholesome and lovely and I always wished we could've seen more from her. (Granted, if Rudy had gone home first, we wouldn't have his iconic lines or his "I don't know" trivia challenge. 😂) Definitely most robbed is Wanda and Jonathan. Based on the very little we saw, there's a good chance they'd be first boots anyways, but still - maybe not!! Give them a chance! Give them a SECOND CHANCE!! And, genuinely, justice for Francesca. I'm sure they put her with Phillip for round 2 for the dRaMA potential, but it was SO sucky and unfair that she got ousted like that. And how the producers doubled down when they were supposed to bring Jonathan and Wanda back for Guatemala but replaced them with Stephenie and Bobby Jon after the iconic tragedy that is Ulong tribe happened. Can't blame them, but it just felt like salt to the wound for Jonathan and Wanda. They should have been brought back after Guatemala.
Marisa from samoa at least deserves an honorable mention. She was the first person to sniff out Russell on a tribe of players who overall weren’t great at the game and just didn’t believe her. Russell was terrified of Marisa and intentionally made her a first boot because he thought that if she stayed she would win the whole game

I've always said a couple is (obviously) two, a few is three/four, a handful is five/six, and several is seven (maaaaaybe eight/nine can slither in there, but ten is then a couple handfuls).

For me, a first boot I thought was massively robbed was Morriah. She did nothing that would’ve made her worthy of being booted, and the only reason she got axed was Elie getting an early case of big-move-itis and taking out a loyal ally for no good reason. They said it was because Morriah was the weakest in challenges, but that was bs given that Morriah did great during the immunity challenge. Why did Jeanine not get any flak for slowing the tribe down at the challenge? Why did Sami get a free pass when he did just as bad during the final stage as Gabler? What could Elie have possibly gained out of letting Gabler slide by and taking out a close ally on Day 3? This one move pretty much ended any chance Elie had of winning, frankly.
Sami was seen as too big of a physical asset to lose first, and Jeanine was clearly a bad choice for the log dig since it clearly favored younger fit men instead of thin women Clearly her social connections with Elie were not good enough if she wanted to keep Gabler over her

Off topic, but you referenced it first, so I'm gonna just throw it out there. I agree with what's-his-name about the "several is seven" thing and literally for the same reason as he gave. I've always said a couple is (obviously) two, a few is three/four, a handful is five/six, and several is seven (maaaaaybe eight/nine can slither in there, but ten is then a couple handfuls).
Candace was voted out because of her unloyal game to the Heroes during Season 20.

Jelinsky was arguably a bad first boot I know he was deserved... but he ruined his tribe. I feel that Survivor casting keeps getting screwed by either quitters or wackos. So they make the perfect challenge in second episode for him, you can tell "purple" had almost zero chance to win that challenge but did with Jelinsky. I would like these people to not be casted.

For me, a first boot I thought was massively robbed was Morriah. She did nothing that would’ve made her worthy of being booted, and the only reason she got axed was Elie getting an early case of big-move-itis and taking out a loyal ally for no good reason. They said it was because Morriah was the weakest in challenges, but that was bs given that Morriah did great during the immunity challenge. Why did Jeanine not get any flak for slowing the tribe down at the challenge? Why did Sami get a free pass when he did just as bad during the final stage as Gabler? What could Elie have possibly gained out of letting Gabler slide by and taking out a close ally on Day 3? This one move pretty much ended any chance Elie had of winning, frankly.
Sami was seen as too big of a physical asset to lose first, and Jeanine was clearly a bad choice for the log dig since it clearly favored younger fit men instead of thin women
