    lol dude just picked frequencies at random and decided they were “bad”. Of course they sound bad outside of the context of the mix and with a +24 boost.

      @@purdysanchez my guy, believe it or not I do. Tell me what was wrong with the frequencies he pulled other than they sounded bad when he boosted them (like every frequency will)

      Hey dude. Great question. Elimination by reduction with harsh or masked frequencies helps to clean up the signal before putting it through a saturator, compressor, or limiter, which would then increase the low level signal of such frequencies. While it seems like I’m randomly selecting frequencies, I do this a lot and am fast with it. In a busy and dense mix this is how you can achieve clarity without the clutter or large production. For example, hyper compress a vocal with an 1176 compressor and then use this technique to remove all the noise created from the compressor.
