If they were to be brought up, regardless if they go undefeated, they will be overshadowed by the Alabama/Clemson dick measuring contest in the mainstream media. Kinda like Notre Dame or UCF.
@@encycl07pedia- because ND *IS* a cupcake game. They go undefeated until they appear in the playoff, then get bitchslapped. UCF goes undefeated but gets bitchslapped by LSU. Boise State goes undefeated but so does every top 2 P5 team so no dice for the Broncs. If NDSU moves up, they'll just be another Boise State.
North Dakota state is not going to be an average team in the FBS, when they can dominate the FCS. Plus, they are not a big school like a Notre Dame or USC, so why should they worry about trying to play the big money game? It's all really about Craig Bohl, who's at Wyoming now and has taken basically the hardest school to recruit from to three straight bowls.. Proof that Bohl is not a big money guy.
ldolphin34 idk bout that point. Stipends are only given at a few fcs schools and nds is one of em. Theyre not a huge school and i wouldn’t necessarily say they act in big money ways but they act like a fbs school in many ways.
What about Liberty over Baylor and the Howard Bison upsetting UNLV in the greatest point spread upset of all time. Even with Cam Newton's little brother, Howard was a 45-point underdog
I was there, JMU was the better team on that day and in that season. When they put together a 6 year run like NDSU in a conference as tough as the MVFC, then you can talk. They'll find out this year how tough it is to go back to back. It takes something special and NDSU did it 5 times in a row.
Travis Bergh At the time of your run the conference was weak CAA is the best and we are undefeated and we are good we have a smarter school and we have a better stadium we also beat you if we lose tomorrow than you can say all u want about JMU if you lose I am going to laugh
When Appalachian St struck that mighty blow in Ann Arbor over Michigan.FCS teams now believe.Sure dial them up and play them in non conference games but guess what? They won,t lay down.
I remember being a kid in Harrisonburg and watching JMU beat VT and then VT proceed to become a poverty program. Most VA people hate VT unless they go there, so most of VA was huge on that win and everything that happened after
Exactly. I'm a fan of a Group of 5 school but FCS has a true playoff system, not the watered down CFP where the Power 5 keeps the group of 5 from a National Championship. The whole Bowl system is a complete joke and I wish the G5 would break away from the P5 and form our own 16-team (or so) playoff system.
Thanks for this series. Though I follow Big Ten ball, I got to see NDSU and Richmond play in person. They are good. If you make another one, Illinois State beating a good Northwestern team in 2016 might be a good addition.
Rise up falcon, you and the ref made the same mistake. Citadel was almost ninety yards from their own goal, so the penalty should have been 15 yards. If the penalty had been on the Ganecocks it would have been half the distance.
Hmmm, Fordham, Villanova, Delaware, South Dakota, North Dakota, Bethune Cookman, Florida A&M, William & Mary, Northern Iowa, Southern illinois, Illinois State, Youngstown State, Furman, Samford, Central Arkansas, D2 North Alabam beat La.-Lafayette, and many more that should be highlighted.
As an Iow State fan, I always get anxious whenever we play Northern Iowa. We just came off our best season ever and all of the seniors are coming back but Northern Iowa can play football against us. It’s going to be another good one this year, I can feel it!
It's hard to find good highlights of it, but if you do more parts you should try to include Yale over Army from 2014. A rare instance of an FBS team playing on the road against an FCS team. They had a rivalry in the early days of football when both programs were powerhouses, so to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Yale Bowl, Army played at Yale. Yale never lead during regulation, but after Army missed a field goal in overtime, Yale scored a touchdown to win.
The 2015 Portland Vikings were a good team, my UNT Eagles were dead last in FBS rankings that year, and the team was actually tanking on purpose to get the coach fired. It was a bad year all around haha
I'm a UAB fan. I know how you feel. At least we're 4-2 this year despite starting off ranked dead last and predicted to go 1-11. We should be 5-1 except we choked away that great comeback against UNT
I have faith in Spencer Brown. He’s been one of the best RBs in the country. We should be a strong 8-4 heading into the bowl. AJ Erdely takes care of the ball well. I know him personally and he’s a cool headed guy. I think we can win a bowl game
Liberty Over Baylor and Howard over UNLV should be here. Also, FBS team outside of the power 5 that NDST beats isnt much of an upset lol they're freaking good.
Iowa state is a weird football team to me. They always beat a strong team like Oklahoma every year then they lose to a bad team a week later lol. It happens almost every year.
26 Reasonz They were still FCS that year, playing in the Big South conference. The team that won the Big South, Kennesaw State, plays Georgia State to start this season. Could be yet another FCS upset game...
You should include the eastern Washington team that beat the same Washington state team the following season in a shootout thriller. Final of that one was 59-52 in favor of the eastern Washington eagles
Omer Frank I think that season/win laid the foundation for JMU though to come to greatness and to win the National title last year (look at how the program turned around after that season.. minus the one 6-6 year)
James Madison now got their opportunity as they’re in the Sun Belt and even got ranked in 2022. North Dakota State is so overdue, hopefully they go to the Mountain West Conference. Even Jacksonville State is moving up to FBS.
That UNT/Portland St game doesn't count lol, my alma mater UNT some years is basically FCS & as you can see probably wouldn't even do well half the time.
I go to UNT lol. I came in 2017 and we finished 9-5 and 2nd in the Conference USA championship. UNT definitely improved in that two year span. We're ranked 78th out of 127 teams this year in the FBS. So UNT is improving to say the least.
I lived in the Denton, TX area for about 25 years. The University of North Texas Eagles HAVE ALWAYS SUCKED! With the exception of Mean Joe Green of course.
Imma goat SC might not be the best team but we went 8-4 in 2 years and we should have won that game but the refs called a pennalty that they don't they don't even call in in the FBS they only call it in the FCS
This is why the fbs and fcs need to merge and let the conference champions and 1 wildcard for the ncaa division 1 national championship with the national championship game at the rose Bowl. Keep the bowl games and raise eligibility to 7 from 6
I'd like to see my Austin Peay Governors upset a FBS team. We have a damn good coach, went 8-4 last year, and just barely got left out of the FCS playoffs.
As a Citadel Alumni, I thoroughly enjoyed the defeat of South Carolina that day. I wouldn't say it was much of an upset though. The Citadel won their conference that year and South Carolina didn't make a bowl game. I also want to say 2 of The Citadel's losses that year were by like 1 point. I feel like some of the better FCS teams over crappy FBS teams aren't really upsets, like say if the #1 team in the FCS went up against an 0-10 Kansas team.
It’s to the point to where if Appalachian State or North Dakota State beats a bigger naked school, it shouldn’t really be considered an upset anymore 😂
"Title Text Here"
Dylan Minton shhh
😂
@Derek Johansen or something tf are you talkin about, how's it clickbait
Best part
@Derek Johansen or something FCS beating FBS is always considered an upset, no matter how good the teams are
66-7?
I bet the next day at North Texas went as follows:
"All right, so how many of us are getting fired?"
"Yes."
Portland state rarely ever wins in big sky anymore
Bruh
I think the staff did get canned after that game...lol
They actually ended up canning their coach right after the game lmfao
To be fair, North Texas are bottom feeders of Conference USA which means they really should be back in the FCS.
NDSU needs to be brought up
Collin Smith pretty sure they're happy to be the Alabama of FCS rather than yet another MWC team that gets looked over for the "playoffs".
Pointless for NDSU to be in a small conference team in the FBS until they expand the playoffs, which the old farts in the committee will never allow.
If they were to be brought up, regardless if they go undefeated, they will be overshadowed by the Alabama/Clemson dick measuring contest in the mainstream media.

I love the looks on South Carolina fans when the ref explained the flag.
What about Liberty over Baylor and the Howard Bison upsetting UNLV in the greatest point spread upset of all time. Even with Cam Newton's little brother, Howard was a 45-point underdog
Chris Foster pretty sure liberty move to independent in fbs
And Baylor went 1-10. Not really an upset.
UNLV shouldn't be an FBS football program, they're straight trash.
@@26reasonz31 they beat them the season before the move
Love your videos! Keep up the amazing work!!!
How about an entire video of NDSU upsets over FBS teams. It is at least 5 in a row. Greatest program in FCS history beyond all doubt.
the K-State one was better than the Iowa State one tbh
Travis Bergh JMU IS SMARter and beat u guys
Coming from a Cyclone fan, That Iowa State team you guys beat was god awful
I was there, JMU was the better team on that day and in that season. When they put together a 6 year run like NDSU in a conference as tough as the MVFC, then you can talk. They'll find out this year how tough it is to go back to back. It takes something special and NDSU did it 5 times in a row.

I remember the North Texas and Portland State game it was North Texas homecoming after that game the coach for North Texas was fired
lmfao
North Texas always sucks lol
To be fair, when we (iowa state) lost to ndsu, we were at the bottom of the big 12 with kansas
The 2015 PSU Vikings were on FIRE!
Jay Fend yep, they're one of the few FCS teams in college football history to beat 2 FBS teams in one year.
And the record for the largest point spread of FCS over FBS team with that North Texas massacre.
Jay Fend oh yea I remember checking the score to that game and thinking something was wrong with my phone lol
North Texas' coach was fired 2 days after the PSU game.
zymaymyn they sucked anyway
When Appalachian St struck that mighty blow in Ann Arbor over Michigan.FCS teams now believe.Sure dial them up and play them in non conference games but guess what? They won,t lay down.
Greatest upset ever
Might blow, yes. But anybody that was familiar with Appalachian State new they had more than a chance to win that game.
I remember being a kid in Harrisonburg and watching JMU beat VT and then VT proceed to become a poverty program. Most VA people hate VT unless they go there, so most of VA was huge on that win and everything that happened after
It getting to the point the FBS teams defeating ND State is a upset
Throwback to when The Citadel was good
Teams with no names on their backs are the best ones to see win against ones that do....👌
True
That would include Wyoming too
Usc
Usc has no name on backs
PENN ST sometimes
So the moral of these two videos is absolutely DO NOT schedule NDSU or Portland State!
J K lil Portland State is always terrible that’s like their only good year
Arkansas just beat Portland state
but not San Jose State lol
“Title Text Here”... Rookie move, man. Rookie move.
Too many upsets in college football for this to not have a part3 and even a part4. I will be waiting patiently for that day😎
I love FCS Football. It really is college football at it best most pure form.
Yup. Way better than the NFL.

Why no JSU over Ole Miss in 2010?
As a diehard miss. state fan, hearing about this is awesome.
bro that Portland State sportscaster had me hype
If you make a 3rd one of these, I remember Fordham beat Temple a few years ago, IIRC on a hail mary
How could you forget something as simple as the title

4:04 Unsportsmanlike Penalty, "Half the distance to the goal"... so like 45 yard penalty?? haha
No, like a 7 yard penalty. Citadel got the ball back and the gamecocks were pinned deep in their territory
Rise up falcon, you and the ref made the same mistake. Citadel was almost ninety yards from their own goal, so the penalty should have been 15 yards. If the penalty had been on the Ganecocks it would have been half the distance.

Youngstown State vs Pittsburgh

They would be... if they could get more players... IF
4:49 The Citadel completely missed their head coach with the Gatorade bath
I think that they hit the camera guy some actually
Honestly, North Dakota State and James Madison should be FBS
