Yes it was just brilliant. In the UK it was on at about midnight and I so often stayed up too late just cos I had to watch it (recording it wasn't the same). One of my fave episodes - where George gets orange juice (or grapefruit?) in his eye and it makes every conversation slightly off-kilter all day.

I believe Peter Mehlman wrote this episode. He was a writer on the show since like the first season. He wrote many classic shows like the Shrinkage one, the one where Jerry's car has mutant BO, the double dip the chip and a bunch more. Larry David at this time was releasing his very ridiculously funny movie Sour Grapes and was no longer on the show.

I was never a Catholic, but I read John R. Powers' hilarious fictionalized memoirs about growing up Catholic on the south side of Chicago: _The Last Catholic in America_ and _Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?_ remain two of my favorite books because, apart from the religion, Powers was writing about _me_ as a kid! So I sort of understood a little bit about Catholicism before I first saw this episode, and when Jerry sat down on the kneeler, I died laughing. George finding him in the least likely place he would ever be is the icing on the cake. The writing on this show was brilliant.
