IISER Pune Campus Tour 2024

I am a PhD student at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune. I made this tour video so that it's helpful for curious students who are applying/joining the institute. The video is made from my perspective, and hopefully I have covered most of the important information. If you have any queries or suggestions, feel free to mention them below in the comment section. It was shot entire on my phone using a gimbal. Chitrakshee helped me with some of those shots. Riya helped me with some corrections.

I visited this heavenly campus in 2015 when I was in class 9. I participated in Ishan Vikash Sivir which was held for 18 days .I can never forget those beautiful memories .What a campus ,what an environment .Aise campus me agar koi padhega toh uski soch bhi bohot uchi hogi .I wish I could visit this heaven again ❤❤

Hello bhaiya i wanted to know if we go to BS MS data science rather than btech which should be more convinent it terms of job security and the financial growth and i also i wnted to know is when you got into college as there anything opposite to your expectatons like any thing according to you a student shuld know before getting BS MS from there

Bhaiya can we make carrier as a data scientist after bs ms mathematics from iiser pune does it have active placement cell?
This is an institute for research in basic science, not an engineering institute. The way things work is different. Placement cell is not a norm. As for the other question, nobody is stopping you from being a data scientist irrespective of the major you have picked. You can always change your field. But I'm wondering, why won't you directly go for BS-MS in data science? Wouldn't that be convenient? Also, if research is not your goal, then an engineering degree may be a better choice for you.

People who are availing the institute fellowship get paid the same amount as CSIR/UGC/INSPIRE JRF. However, they don't have the contingency grant of 20K each year. {Don't call me sir :) }

PhD admissions are going on right now. For bachelors and masters, please visit iiseradmission.in. The last date for 2024 is May 13th

I don't think I can answer that. But we can do a Fermi estimation. IISER Pune usually takes around 250 students each year in the BS-MS program. Assuming similar numbers for each IISERs, around 1750 students are selected across all IISERs (most of them from IAT, a fraction from JEE and other qualifying exams.) Some of them also don't end up joining IISERs. So I guess people need to try to be at least at the top 2000s. On top of that, reservations would make this number smaller.

Apart from the cricket stadium and the indoor stadium, there is a football ground as well. I didn't show it here.
Before taking Iiser , all parent and student Think about it. It is not a good option . Before going there varify everything.
