    A few tips. No need to tap the edges when screeding.
    Don't trowel when so much bleed water on top, it permanently weakens the surface. Let the bleed water mostly evaporate before trowel
    Broom was much too early. Let it go off more for a more refined finish

    You didn't say what the metal was?

    • @hanoveroak
      @hanoveroak  Před rokem

      It’s called steel mesh. You can find it in the concrete aisle of any home improvement store. It helps reinforce the concrete.

    What size is it 🤔

    You left out a crucial step!
    Rent a barrel mixer or buy a cheapie from Home Depot.
    Unless... you got some able bodied help that is gonna pound out wheelbarrow loads of concrete mix for ya.
    It's a learning process lol.

      Yes we have another video on our channel where we show a slab pour using a barrel mixer. I just like showing how to do things multiple ways.

    Broom finishes are dumb. spend all that time to get it smooth and perfect just to scratch it up with a Broom. I'd smooth, polish and seal it

      I agree but it’s around our pool and we have small kids. Didn’t want to risk anyone slipping on smooth concrete. ;)

      Absolutely! I would recommend going 5-6 inches thick on the concrete if you are parking a car on it though. Hope this helps!
