Dave (Nicolas Cage) has a breakdown when someone throws a pie on him before he has to see his family.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A man struggles to get a grip on a life that's spinning out of control in this emotional comedy drama. Dave Spritz (Nicolas Cage) is a television weatherman on a high-profile Chicago news program. Professionally, Dave is doing just fine -- he makes great money for a job that demands little effort, and he has a shot at an assignment with a network morning news and chat show. But Dave's personal life leaves a lot to be desired -- his father, respected author Robert Spritzel (Michael Caine), is in failing health, he's divorced from his wife, Noreen (Hope Davis), and his relationship with his children is tenuous at best, especially his overweight daughter, Shelly (Gemmenne de la Pena). If Dave is to land his new job, he'll have to move to New York City, and with his time in Chicago running short, he dedicates himself to trying to salvage his ties with his family before it's too late, though he discovers this is even harder than he imagines.

This movie.... A meteorologist, a mathematician or a prophet even: can't predict it. But, you just do your best. Good movie. Good message. :) I also liked how Dave Spritz started carrying his bow around everywhere at the end. lol :)

I like this scene. People who are on tv are just as normal as we are. We judge them based on our own perception but really we dont know who they really are or what theyre going through. At the same time it shows that he realy doesn't know alot about how the weather works. He realizes he's a hack.

@@stefanmovieflixtomasi I’ve actually never heard of or seen World Trade Center, but I’ll check it out. My favorite Cage movies used to be Ghost Rider & Kick-A** but that was until I watched this movie recently & it blew me away. It was such a good movie & you really feel for him, his dysfunctional relationship with his family & his marriage ending & he & the former wife getting further down the slipper slope of them being further & further apart. & the stuff with his son being used & manipulated by the p*do & then Cage beats him up, never have I felt more satisfied watching a Nicholas Cage movie till that moment & the moment where they’re both at Burger King eating because it was such a wholesome & adorable moment. It’s fitting to see Nicholas Cage & Nicholas Holt father & son reunited in Renfield now after so many years since The Weather Man came out. Also I liked Lord Of War but Cage’s character got on my nerves because he just kept making the wrong decisions & doing these villainous acts by giving evil people weapons to kill people resulting in him causing more war & death than ending it, it was disappointing to see him learn only when it was too late because he got a life that he could never escape from due to his knowledge of weapons & machinery. Then I found out when the credits were ending that it was based on a true story & it made me even more upset with the character because this actually happened & it’s so unfortunate. He lost his brother, his dream wife, his child, his life, everything all because of what he knew

One of the best cage movie.
In my personal opinion, I think it is his best movie. Ghost rider & kick-a** was number 1 for me in terms of the films he’s been in but this one just takes the cake (no pun intended). It’s his best acted performance imo
