They didn’t loose to much on defense. They lost some guys in the secondary, but basically returned there entire front 7. With the exception of to 2 guys.
Dallas Turner was elite. Slight drop off there.

I'll be surprised if the defense isn't better than it has been for the last several years.
The defense hasn't played up to an Alabama standard since Pete Golding was hired. Not saying it was all his fault (because nothing on that defense isn't approved by Saban) but that's when it started.
I know I'm going to take heat with this, but I'm at a wait and see approach with Milroe. His biggest issue was not processing fast enough and helping the line out by adjusting protections and knowing where the hot route is. Maybe the game will slow down for him this season as he gained experience last season. I hope he took that step

He had no QB coach. Think about TR… Alabama OC!! If you lose your job you should have tons of job offers.. He didn’t got a reason. Milroe will look much improved! Souly based on the level of coach.
I don't disagree with any of that but he also wasn't getting any help from play calling.
We were calling plays more suitable for Tom Brady than Jalen Hurts.
Sitting in a stationary pocket and going through full field progressions was always going to be tough.

I'd be lying if I said I have no concerns. The DB's have to develop fast. And the O line is behind schedule with Proctor missing Spring. But overall I feel good about the way the transition has gone and I think this team will meet the high expectations that are always there for the Crimson Tide.
What we have heard from CKD is he is consistent. That can be good or bad. He was consistently inconsistent last year. We heard he has a strong arm, not new info. But is it accurate? He said he was running around back there. We saw that last year too. Indecisive and multiple unnecessary sacks. Is he taking most 1st team snaps, of course he is,. it's early. But people are acting as if CKD has declared him QB1 for the season. I don't think that has happened. Too early. I haven't seen very much difference in what I'm hearing or seeing with Milroe. . He's a great guy and a leader but not sure yet if he is capable of being QB1. I'll trust Deboer, but so far I don't think he has endorsed JM as Starter.
Go watch the press conference from this week. Sure sounds like Milroe is the guy to beat at the moment. BTW when Milroe sets his feet under himself and throws he can kills flies at 50 yards but if he throws on the run he has trouble hitting the receiver. The freshman Mack seems to be very good throwing on the run.
Honestly idc about spring practice news, I want to know how they do against teams that don’t want them to win. UGA already has a chip on their shoulder and felt that they shouldn’t have got in
UGA hasn’t beaten Bama in the state of Georgia in 21+ years. I’m pretty sure they had a chip on their shoulder when Bama beat them 7 times in a row or 8 outta 10. Bama will be a better team next year. UGA? I highly doubt it considering they haven’t had a good RB in a couple of years, lost 3 o-linemen, 2 DBs, best 2 receivers. They also lost almost just as much depth as Bama via the portal. As a Bama fan I’m happier we don’t have to play Ole Miss.

The kid was a first time starter at Alabama with great receivers, barely a line until the end of year and even then gave up plenty of pressure while handling a bad snap, with a bad coordinator! And still come in 6th in heisman voting. ..he will be fine and a heisman favorite

@@GrayGamer uhhh no. They said he was “the next Minkah Fitzpatrick” but Fitzpatrick was easily better as a freshman. Hell, Ronnie Harrison was better as a freshman. Go check out Downs’ games against Texas, Tenn, LSU, UGA and Michigan. Dude couldnt cover a TE (Tennessee) and couldn’t tackle one either (Ole Miss? Maybe) He has more potential than Sabb but Sabb can actually cover/play the ball, has instincts just as good and without a doubt is a much better tackler. Sabb will be one of the top safeties taken in the next draft. Caleb wouldn’t have been better than Barron, Clinton Dix, L. Collins, Ronnie Harrison, Xavier McKinney and maybe not even Lester. I’d genuinely rather have Proctor and Ricks back.
To be honest i love this channel but deep down whenever he speaks on milroe he lowkey seem as tho it eats him up to say anything good about milroe. He made a comment about people going duh milroe is the guy but then follows it with something along the lines of some about the other qbs. Basically saying he doesnt believe milroe is the guy to run this system. He also said no shade towards milroe but preceeded to throw shade his way with the whole consistency thing 😂😂. For those who dont believe in milroe just think about it. He finished 6th in the heismam race in a offense that was lackluster and vanilla as could be. He also did it playing behind probably the worse o-line in all of alabama history 😂. They ranked 129th nationally and was like 90th or so in the pass pro. Wasnt even in the top 20 in run support they were close to 60th i think 😂. Did milroe make some poor decisions hell yeah but he still went undefeated in the sec. Take away those called back tds during the texas game bama wins that game and goes undefeated. They beat the #1 team in the nation in ga with milroe at the helm. Its like give him better protection and in this system milroe will be in the top 3 in the heisman race. Him and jackson dart are the 2 best returning qbs and proven. All that bs hate for milroe let it go and except the fact he is the guy point blank. Again i love this channel and he knows his stuff but damn 😂😂😂.

Penix had his struggles..he was missing open receivers all season in games if you go back and watch Washington. Thats actually how they lost in the natty. Penix was missing open receivers.. milroe has the legs to substitute for it fortunately
Milroe is a athlete and that's all that matters. I think Deboer will bring the best out of Milroe and Milroe puts in the work to improve

He predetermines his throws can't go thru his reads can't throw intermediate passes and likes to throw into triple coverage. He's an athlete RB trying to play QB. He's not a great decision maker. He tried to dive from the 4yd line and lost the game against mich. When he's under pressure he folds. Yeah he'll get his scramble yds running on busted plays but facts are facts dude. We will see if anything has changed but nothing changed over the course of last season.
