    CHILDREN’S BOOK ILLUSTRATION
Find out how the professionals illustrate children’s books
from character development, through beginning thumbnail
storyboards, to final illustrations. This class will not teach you
how to draw, but will show you how to take the drawing skills you
have and apply them to children’s book illustration. In addition to
learning the process and creating your own illustrations, you will
also learn about marketing your work and portfolio preparation.
    ACRYLIC PAINTING I
Learn the basics of colour theory, paint mixing, application
techniques, and composition while developing skills and
    confidence in your creative potential.
    ACRYLIC PAINTING II
You have a solid grasp of the fundamentals of painting; now
continue working with acrylic paints in the studio as you focus
on painting subject matter that you choose. Your instructor will
work with you individually to help you develop your own style
as you broaden you knowledge of composition and the art
    fundamentals.
    STILL LIFE PAINTING STUDIO
The still life has played an important role in painting for centuries
with a quiet beauty that is valued and appreciated across
many cultures. Focus on creating your own still life paintings
throughout the week as you hone your painting skills. Your
instructor will lead individual and group critiques discussing
technical, formal, and conceptual issues. All levels welcome.
    UNDERSTANDING ACRYLIC MEDIUMS
There are so many acrylic mediums to choose from! Your
instructor will introduce you to a wide range of mediums and
lead discussions to help your understanding of how individual
mediums work and how to best use them. Have a great time
following your intuition as you collage, embed, stamp, pour, and
splash acrylic paints, with mediums, on panels. There will be
individual and group discussions critiques throughout the week.
    All levels welcome.
