as a person of indian origin with super wavy curly hair in a chinese dominated country, every trip to the hairdresser is a nightmare where my natural hair is just called unhealthy, frizzy and too dry, everything you said at the end was like a warm hug! got bangs now really happy, lots of love

I appreciate her comments about hair texture discrimination as a Black woman. We all just want to look our best and look like ourselves without negative judgment. So many varieties of beauty, but sometimes not looking like her (even she was teased at one point) can make one envious because it’s the look put on a pedestal.

I love your “rant” at the end. I can relate as I have SUPER thick hair that is wavy and frizzy, and as a Korean-American, every time I went to a Korean salon and asked for what I wanted, I would be told by the hair dressers that they knew better and would proceed to cut chunks of my hair out to thin it and try to convince me to get hair straightening done which would make me feel like something was wrong with my hair. Now that I’m older, I appreciate my type of hair more and more for its unique qualities and really fight back (even though I shouldn’t have to) on what I think is right for me.

I’m so happy you’re here and that you made this incredible video. Thank you! I had tears in my eyes watching the last bit, as someone who has struggled with very fine hair, being told I should want it thicker, getting hair extensions for volume, etc etc. I’ve since begun the journey of growing out my natural hair (have been colouring it for over a decade because of not loving my ashy light brown hair and wanting it richer, darker, or blonde or red and everything in between). The long and short of this is all to say, this video meant so much to me, thank you. xx
That is why I’ve been cutting my own hair for several years now. It hurts having to apologize to hairdressers for having lots of hair. That shouldn’t be a sin. And I shouldn’t have to thin it out to make it easier for others.

Feeling anxious last night I decided to cut my long bangs short. After seeing the results my jaw dropped and my mouth has been open ever since. Watching your video has given me hope. It was as if I was telling the story about myself & my own thick hair trials while growing up. Mine however, was very "curly" & thick ....so difficult for my mom to manage when I was a child & I would cry during our hair sessions. I decided to chemically straighten it for many years but that chemical treatment was very damaging and my hair also become very porous. After that I went back to growing out my natural curly hair without the straightener but did color my hair so it did remain on the dry side & back then the products did not have the natural conditioning & nutrients as they have today. Thanks for sharing your story!!! 💟💜💟💜💟

You're really gorgeous inside and outside! Thanks for the encouraging words & could you make a video on how to deal with body hair please &/or how to take care of your hair if you exercise? Also what shampoo do you use? Because my hair used to be sooo much more and voluminous, beautiful etc...but I dyed it & started "experimenting" with natural remedies & products without sulfates, silicone etc. but now my hair is frizzy, less, gets dirty faster...😭

So true! I have crazy hair : a lot of texture, a lot of hair and they are curly.... I worked in finance and I got discriminated because it was too "sexy". I hide my hair, constantly try to straight them, make them thin ect... It kills my hair! But it wasn't me.... Yes I have a lot of hair, and I am not going to be sorry to be naturally "sexy". I stopped finance and I am so glad my hair are back!!!

when you said you have a lots of hair and so in the rest of your body i totally understand. i do have a lots of hair and so while almost EVERYONE especially girls kids used to point my arms and it became an insecurity for me. the difference is that as my hair is darker so my body hair IS darker too.

Sorya Eap j’en mets presque tous les jours et ça ne m’irrite pas ... le klorane est doux pour ça :) et comme je fais souvent des masques d’huile , ça doit aider mon cuir chevelu à supporter !

I literally do NOTHING to my fringe, I dont even brush it or style it, I just let my hair dry naturally (using a towel) and just fix it a bit with my hands. I also use some hair oil fir shine. And it looks perfect, even tho I cut it myself😌👌
