can i just have a basic drum and snare play without all the other sounds playing? just a simple Kick and Snare? and can i adjust the clock dividing on the 2?
hello, I bought a plonk, and when I turn on the rack, it turns on all the lights, but the front panel doesn't, and it doesn't make sound either... and when I update its firmware, it works, but when I turn off the rack and turn on again, it comes back with the same problem. could you tell me how to solve this?
You could trigger patterns like this from a Varigate 8+. You have probability of strikes and ratcheting. You also have variable probability ratcheting.
Hi, thanks for the review. Quick question. I only see 1 CV out, does that mean this can only play one drum voice at a time? So if I wanted multiple of these sounds, I'd have to buy multiple Plonks? New to modular, but loving it so far. Thanks in advance.
The Plonk is Duophonic - so the note timbre can change drastically from a single strike. As an aside you mean audio out , not CV ( control voltage ) ;-). This module cries out to be used as sample fodder - record a session and chop up and utilise the sample you like. There is a sort of cheat to emulate multi timbral stuff.
For my next buy I'm torn between this & chimera. The latter is fascinating & versatile in its own unique way if a kind of one trick pony as is fracture. This is more money but more generally useful, so may get plonk first? Don't rely on it though---I'm fickle, & temporarily at least---broke!
This has been my biggest question with this thing. Plonk sounds awesome, but I have no idea how people sequence modular drums (in any kind of deliberate/detailed way at least). I think Hermod looks like the best bet so far, but at that point I may as well throw a bunch of Plonk samples in to my Digitakt and call it a day.
@@MBArkestra There are plenty of sequencer modules, but owning a digitakt you could just get a midi to cv converter and sequence modular gear with the DT. I use marbles to sequence both gate and cv. Take a look at pams new workout also, very versatile module, or eloquencer.
@@MBArkestra I would recommend using it with something like a variate 4+ :) you could sequence whole beats with just those 2 modules! alternatively Pamelas new workout should be a cool pairing too
The varigate can send out gates, triggering the sound, as well as cv for pitch and modulating the preset or parameters. and its nice for adjusting sequences on the fly
Account name is "Ask Audio" Lol. Not a single answer to any question posted.
what kind of questions could you possibly have that this video+the specs online don't answer?

This is what i call a great review, no jibber jabber, just sounds :) Thanks!
Nice..... just picked up a Plonk. Can't wait to start exploring.

Does this module make real chicken sounds? And are they modeled after real chicken synthesis?
Yes it does
lol
Nice

Cool Demo!
Sounds great what did you use to get those retriggering trigs?

Is this pretty much a hardware version of chromaphone 2?
Random bleeps are fun but you can also make actual songs with just this module.

It also can do sets of 4 presets as a kit and modulate between sounds with cv.

my plonk has high pitched inference noise, as does this video. anyone else out there experience this problem?
love this puppy
what are you sequencing the Plonk with?

@@MBArkestra the issue w that is that you can’t modulate samples on the level you can with a sound that’s being synthesized live
