    Bro one little hint: try to start the extraction within 3 seconds after the portafilter is locked. Otherwise the heat from above will start the infusion too early and the puck starts to swell up.

      You’re totally right. You should work for the health department! 😂
      When I’m working a shift at the café, I keep a dedicated steam wand rag. At home, I get lazy and toss the rag in the wash after each use.

    I am thinking about to buy the go, but are you happy with the specialita? The most difficult choice it’s to find a good grinder. Which grinder would you buy based on your experience?

      I love the Specialitá ! Very happy w/ it. Bough mine from espressocoffeeshop, way cheaper than the retail options here in the USA.
      The niche looks fun for single dosing, Reddit seems to love the df83. So many good options. Have fun deciding!

    Hi! What's the temperature you have set on the machine for steaming milk? I Know it comes with a 130C or something close by default, but the question is, did you raised it? When you purge and the water gets out before steaming, the temperture goes down to much? Thank you!

    • @CharlieTeatroNo5
      @CharlieTeatroNo5 Před 5 měsíci

      I don't know if I made myself clear, haha. What I mean is if you recommend raising the default temperature a little, so that when purging before steaming (to get some water out) the temperature does not drop so much and you have to wait a little to get back to those 130, 131 degrees.

    Hey mate, please give me a opinion. I got my Go 2 weeks ago and never get a good milk texture. I can do easily in a breville bambino machine but in my new “expensive” machine. If I take 1:30 min like you I end up with a super hot milk with no texture. I’m considering retuning or bringing the machine to a service because pressure seems odd. Any similar issues with that?

    • @NateDrinksCoffee

      Ciao Bruno,
      Try messing around with the tip of the steam wand. Make sure that the two holes are lined up horizontally not vertically
      Sometimes after I clean my wand, the tip gets twisted and it messes w my milk texture
      Try it out… did it help?

    Hi. What's the portafilter you've got there? I was looking for a wood handled bottomless for my Go but the Profitec and ECM ones seem to be pretty ugly so I wound up just going for the black handles ECM.

    • @NateDrinksCoffee
      @NateDrinksCoffee  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I believe it’s the style 7 from Clive coffee. It came upgraded with the walnut wood package (extra $100) - Alone the portafilter cost $175 - which seems pretty pricey.
      I hear the ECM portafilter works well
      clivecoffee.com/products/ecm-angled-bottomless-portafilter?ref=portafilters
      Espressocoffeeshop also carries a Profitec model for €40 - this shop ships straight from Italy. Got my grinder from here, huge discounts.

    From one of your previous replies it sounds like you're a barista in a coffee shop too. Given your professional experience, do you have any issues with the work flow for milk based drinks at home? Is the wait time a big deal? And how is it for 2 back to back milk drinks? Thanks!

    • @NateDrinksCoffee
      @NateDrinksCoffee  Před 7 měsíci +2

      I don’t mind the wait. I like the process. Can’t justify the extra $500-1000 for a dual boiler - but if i was a millionaire, I’d definitely buy a LMLM :)

      @sgddfgfghfgh Před 7 měsíci

      @@monotone123 is this a question for nate or a rhetorical one for me? My question is more how long do you need to wait to pull a shot, wait for the steam temp to rise, purge, steam your milk, purge the machine to cool down to shot temp, pull a shot, wait for the steam temp to rise, purge, steam your milk and then serve your coffees. By the time you've done the second one you're maybe 3-5 minutes behind depending on how much time you need to take

      @Lunaorbit82 Před 5 měsíci +1

      In NZ it’s $4800 for the dual boiler Bianca. My Profitec Go was $2000. I can think of a thousand other things to spend the extra $2800 on than a minute wait for steam and flow control. Profitec Go is all my wife and I will ever need and we love the look. We have the blue one.

    Good day and thank you for sharing. I am currently thinking about getting the same machine for my home. Few questions, if you could answer please:
    1. How much oatmilk did you put in and what is the volume of your pitcher? Seems like you are able to get a great texture at the end.
    2. Any cons you can share about the machine?

    I'm very interested in this machine. I'm reading about that you need to flush the machine after you turned it on (after 7 mins). What happends if you don't do that?

    • @NateDrinksCoffee
      @NateDrinksCoffee  Před 8 měsíci +1

      I wonder that myself - so far nothing has happened when I forget. It just slowly lowers the temp back down to 94 c for shot pulling.
      I’m guessing flushing it helps speed up the process/brings the PID to the ideal temperature faster. The accelerated warm up helps bring the machine up to temp really quickly - Took me a second to get used to, but now I like the feature.

    • @MrBblack92

    • @Metdaex
      @Metdaex Před 8 měsíci

      I also have the machine and have never done that. It will be fully heated in about 15-20 minutes if you go over 30mins the machine automatically goes into eco mode (60 degrees essentially) and you will need to flush it once in order to get it up back to temp. Overall amazing machine, I highly recommend it

    • @MrBblack92
      @MrBblack92 Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@Metdaex thx for the reply, ok so that actually makes the heat up time double. The flushing is alot of water or mostly stream?

    • @Metdaex
      @Metdaex Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@MrBblack92 Ive never done the 7 minute flush, so im not sure, but it should speed up the process. I dont mind waiting for 7-8 more minutes, because I have it linked to a smart plug and can start it from essentially anywhere or at specific time - example 20 minutes before my morning alarm. If you are asking about the eco mode and getting it up from 60Celsius idle back to 93-94Celsius - it is a 5 second flush with water and the machine starts heating up again

      @@NateDrinksCoffeethanks. Another question: can I steam just one time, like 500 ml, for two shots? Because this way optimize the workflow: first steam 500ml of milk -> flush to speed the temp reach espresso temperature -> dial in two shots. What you think?

    • @NateDrinksCoffee
      @NateDrinksCoffee  Před 9 měsíci

      That could work!

      @@jamespatheyjohns1663I do prefer single dosing. I even like weighing out the beans! :)
      Single dosing does take longer - but you can ensure you have almost no retention and the shots are consistently better - grind on demand would definitely be faster.
