- Nia Akins, competing for the Brooks Beasts, won the women's 800-meter title in a lifetime-best 1:57.36 at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials at Hayward Field in Oregon. Akins rebounded from a fall and ninth-place finish in the 2021 Olympic Trials final to capture the championship.

Her fastest time in the 800m trials, isn't enough to make a podium finish. If she competed in the last Tokyo Olympics, she would have placed 6th. Hoping these 3 women's 800m trial winners would train their hardest and defend USA's gold medal in that event.
Akins will bring home the gold. She is US champion indoors and outdoors. She will do the work.
I disagree. Mu is out. Keely and Moora are formidable but a 1:57 low could most surely make the podium after 3 rounds in Paris.
@@lesliemcdermott2440 Agreed, Keely and Moraa will run under 1:57 but that might be good enough for the bronze.
