As a new Quest owner I was overwhelmed by the amount of options.. I went with your first choice..or a clone (?) of it I've ordered from China for like US$8... This is awesome. That quick release is indeed a must, especially for multiple users, and I can now wear my quest for hours straight. So comfortable. My only complaint is the flimsy faux-leather strap, but hey, for that price and upgrade over the stock strap..

I bought the 1st place strap and it arrived yesterday. My first few hours with it so far have been very good, and even from the time I first put it on, it felt more comfortable than the Meta Elite strap, mostly due to the soft cushioning. I like the pivots on the side too, which provides more freedom of adjustment to the fit, and the top strap does seem to provide more support than the Elite strap does and keeps the facial interface from pressing as hard on the forehead and cheeks. The quick adjust button is super nice too! First impressions are one thing though, and more time with it will tell for sure, but so far so good. 👍

I found a cheap halo style strap that I use without the facial interface. I love the front half that rests high on my forehead but hate the back half since it doesn't conform to the back of my head. I'm wondering if it's possible to mix and match them. (remove screw from joint and combine the ones that work best.) I'd love the one with the back head support that is flexible.

Though my thought process during making of the vods were:
The products I reviewed are linked directly in the description and the comment section of the video. You can get to it by a simple click, and I also get a small commission from Amazon if you make the purchase through my link.
All products reviewed are all white label products that means they might discontinue at any time. That's why I spent a lot of time in this video talking about what features we should be looking for instead of emphasis on the brand of the product. This way if the product goes out you can just find a similar build as most of these white label products come from the same factory and sells to many vendors.

I ordered a halo strap from china via ebay. After 5 weeks of waiting it arrived last week. It looked great but it was not comfortable at the end. I tried every possible adjustment and it was always about to slip after some head movement. I taught the halo design is the best way to wear a vr headset after trying many headsets over the years and loving the psvr1 most. The problem is the weight is resting on the sides and not on the forehead like on psvr1. I taught they got that figured out with quest2 but obviously its different with quest3. I ended up breaking the strap and using the hinges with a old quest1 elite strap which is more comfortable now but still far away from psvr1.

If your halo strap has a cushion that pushes down on the top of your head, like the first strap in this video has, then try removing it. On mine, that cushion pushed the strap higher up on my head which made the whole strap loose. Once I removed that top cushion I could wear the strap much lower on my head and everything was comfortable and no longer loose.

Well I think I have pretty round head - quest 3 facial interface simply isn't that good - I get bad light leak from the sides. Also, padding in top part presses head quite a lot. I think they simply should have made the foam part from some memory foam like material and make the contact parts wider.

I've been using a 20,000 mAh powerbank clipped to my belt or just in my pocket with a 3.3ft cable and it's been awesome. Most of the straps with batteries only give you an extra 1-2hrs of battery life and using this powerbank gives me at least 10hrs of use total. And it keeps the headset fully charged no matter what apps I'm using. For example, the Bobo M3 Pro is all using the Q2 batteries, so the Q3 won't stay fully charged and you only get like 1hr of extra playtime with the battery. I get at least 8hrs extra playtime with my powerbank.
It also charges at the full 18W and recharges the headset from 0-100% in about 2hrs, which is better than the roughly 3hrs it normally takes with the Meta power brick. I just ordered the Destek halo strap cuz it looked the most comfortable and similar to the PSVR strap, which was the most comfy VR headset I've ever worn. You don't need a battery for it to be a good strap, and a well-made strap doesn't need a battery to counter the weight cuz the strap will do that itself if it's designed properly

@@leots90 unfortunately wouldn't know until I try it. Will buy it when they sell on Amazon. I'm quite torn between choice 1 and choice 2 as far I been using both pretty consistently and they both feel great. If I have to buy only 1 and I have multiple members in my house share the same headset I'd get choice 1. If is just mostly for myself I'd get choice 2 as choice 2 is teeny tiny bit more comfortable than choice 1.

I have a narrow/oblong face type and I can assure you that the facial interface of the Quest 3 is not not designed for me. It is completely uncomfortable and it has light leakage on both sides :(
    Nice comparison, thanks.

The Destek Halo strap is much better than the one you showed, it doesn't have that useless piece at the top, just the back and a front one (that can be adjusted back/forth & up/down, like the PSVR. It's the most comfortable Quest 3 strap I've tried yet, though I'm gonna pick up whatever Kiwi makes for it eventually, or the Bobo M3 Pro once they update the batteries for Quest 3, as the current ones drain way too quickly on the Q3, like I've seen some CZcamsrs only get an extra 40mins from the Bobo batteries even though they added about 2-3hrs for the Q2. Once they update those batteries, I'm sure the Bobo M3 will be the strap to get.
But I've been doing awesome with a 20,000mAh powerbank clipped to my belt with a 3ft usb-c cable. It gives me at least 8hrs EXTRA playtime, so you could feasibly play Quest 3 for about 10-12 hours. I've never played for that long lol, but I played for over 4hrs the other day and the powerbank was still at 72%, while the Q3 itself was at 99%. Best powerbank for the Quest 3 that I've used yet. I tried another one but it didn't keep the Q3 fully charged, whereas this one keeps it at 99% the entire time until the powerbank itself runs outta juice. It's awesome. For anyone interested, it's the 20,000 mAh "INIU" brand powerbank. Has a little flashlight on it, is capable of 30W fast charging and has 2x usb-a ports and 1x usb-c port (input & output), of which I believe all are capable of 30W charging. It's a bit heavy but if you clip it to your belt you don't even notice it. I clip it to the back of my belt and have a little Velcro on the quest strap to hold the usb-c cord so it doesn't get in the way.
I also HIGHLY recommend the AMVR controller grips as they have this great feature that allows you to change the batteries without removing the grip, they're awesome. They're also one of very few grips that have a hole punched at the bottom of the controller for the one IR sensor at the bottom, and it doesn't cover the trackers on the top of the controller either. Best Q3 grips I've been able to find, very similar to the Kiwi ones that were on the Q2.

Love the detailed inputs. The main issue with Halo straps though is a bit subjective as I mentioned in the video some folks swear by them but some folks find them unbearable. Regardless I'm glad you found the best match for you, and that is what's important. Cheers.

@@WudiPlays @WudiPlays thanks for the reply man! And you're right, it's very subjective, like many things in life. I've always doing the PSVR headset to be most comfy so halo straps seemed best for me. I'm really looking forward to the Bobo M3 pro once they update the batteries, and to see what Kiwi comes out with for straps and other accessories. That useless piece on the top of.the halo strap can and should be removed. It makes things worse because it pushes the whole strap higher on your head so it becomes loose. Once it's removed then I bet it will be just as comfortable as your one.

I have a narrow face, and the facial interface is still incredibly uncomfortable - instead of pressing the side of my head, it presses the cheeks to an incredible degree. I just think it's simply a horrendously bad design, made from a matching horrendously stiff material. I bought an AMVR replacement facial interface, and it's MUCH better, even though the band still sucks of course.
