  • A brief history and tour of Colditz Castle in the state of Saxony, Germany. This 16th century castle was notorious as Oflag IV-C, a German prison camp for Allied officer POWs during World War II. Many escape attempts were made, and prisoners sewed and dyed German uniforms to disguise their escapes. Most famous of all was the 2-man glider prisoners built in the attic to attempt to fly off the roof to freedom.

Thank you! I'm reading a book about the POW camp. This puts "the picture" where the words are!

Just started reading 'Castle of the Eagles' by Mark Felton. Wanted to get a better idea of what this looks like. This little tour helps me picture the scenes.

i'm just watching the original tv series from the 70's, i remember watching as a child, its still a fantastic series even by today's standards, thanks for your film and look round, way better than trying to visualize still photos, it's quite an emotional place to think what went on

What a marvellous, grand old building/s. Would love to spend a day there exploring it's nooks, maybe even the odd cranny or two - see how we go.
