- With just 21,000 miles on my 21 JT Mojave with a 3.6L Pentastar and only owning the vehicle for about 2 weeks, I received a flashing check engine light.
In this video I discuss the issue I was happening and the diagnosis process through ultimate repair.
Thank you for watching :)
Thanks for the video, what you are describing is exactly what I’ve had going on!!
Thank you and sorry you're going through it too... so frustrating
Glad they found a fix
Yep, definitely.
2022 gladiator......i had a misfire code. they did a download and flash they found in a service bulletin. that was over a month ago.....no issues since.
That's promising
Did the same flash today and it didn’t fix my problem.
@@sstevens7 bummer. Mine is still good to go. still no issues.
Just started having these issues.
😞 sorry to hear that... after this video was made, Jeep replaced the entire engine because later when I brought it back for engine noise, they found a piston bearing had slipped causing irreversible damage. Good luck on the repairs 🙏
the failure rocker is prevalent on those engines, Those Engine start back in 2011 with every 6 cylinder vehicle. most notable symptom is ticking noise at idle. soon as you get a symptom get it check before the rocker eats into the Camshaft.
That well-known rocker issue was SUPPOSED to have been corrected several years ago, and for sure, the 3rd Generation Pentastar V6 engine shouldn't have it. Hoping for the best,

2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon w/ V6 Pentastar gas engine -- so far, so good. ;-)
@@billredding2000 *Shouldn't* but it is still around. still a possibility. People should know the symptoms so the can minimize the damage if it starts to happen.
@@solidgold2 True...but whatever the reality, will be paying "special attention" to MY Pentastar!
Still, "So Far, So Good" -- exactly like how my plan to live forever is going...
-- Justin Case (Safe Auto Ins TV commercials, 2010) ;-)
There are many out there with no issues. Glad to hear yours is good because there is a class action law suit out for Pentastar rockers up to 2020.
@@PlanItSendIt I know...and I hope they win it. But mine is a 2021 (early), so still, hoping for the best...even though it DOES kind of sound like a diesel when it's running. But when I took it in a month or two after I had it -- to get that sound checked out (as I DID fear it was the dreaded Pentastar rocker failure. OR, the Jeep Sales Droid put a diesel engine in it when I wasn't looking, after I signed the sales contract) -- the Jeep dealership said "No, not a rocker issue" -- and I have THAT visit documented/on-paper. Just in case...

I had a cylinder misfire, faulty spark plug.
That is a common fix, but unfortunately I wasn't that lucky
24 not even 1000 miles it happened random misfire in number 3 cylinder and happened a few more times was told high test gas will cause it told him only run 87
I wouldn't trust that place if they're saying run nothing higher than 87 octane or it will cause a miss fire.
Obviously you floored it like that while you were in "mexico" so you broke no laws while doing so.. 🤣🤣🤣
I saw that one too lol 😆 😂 🤣
